China Glaze- Emerald Sparkle

Hey guys, just want to thank you for all your kind words in the comments of yesterday's post, you guys are the best! Also, just want to mention that if you are in the states and have been wanting any polishes from the brand Confetti or 10 which are available at CVS you better go run there fast and snatch them up. I read yesterday that Coty aka the owner of Sally Hansen has sued the makers of Confetti and 10, and won a Temporary Restraining Order against them. From what I got from the article the people behind these two brands used to be bigwigs at Sally Hansen and signed a non-compete with them then went and made this polish anyway. Not sure what the fate of these brands are but just to be on the safe side I went and bought the polishes I wanted yesterday in case they disappear from shelves soon.

Today  I have a big lemming of mine, China Glaze- Emerald Sparkle! Kellie from Also Known As... sent this to me! She's awesome! This polish is pretty great, it's a deep green packed with glitter! Application was great, no dragging or anything annoying like that. It was also really easy to remove, sometimes glitter can be a pain but this one wasn't too bad!

OPI DS- Glamour

Hey everyone, hope you're having a good day. Me, not so much :( We're putting down one of my cat's today, I've had her since I was 7.  She hasn't been doing great health wise for a while so she's going to a better place but that doesn't really make it any easier, unfortunately.

Today I have for you OPI- DS- Glamour. It's a HTF and I never was lucky enough to find it until browsing on ebay a few days ago. It cost me a pretty penny but it was well worth it. This polish is as gorgeous as I could have ever imagined. Application was good, as expected. These pictures do no justice to how beautiful this polish is. I'm sure you've seen in a million times though so you know what it looks like! It was so sparkletastic that 90% of my pictures turned out a blurry mess.

China Glaze Mood Polish Spam!

Hi all, thought I'd post these. I have a few more that will be posted at a later date. I noticed about half way through swatching that some of these bottles have the old China Glaze logo, and some have the new and current logo that they use. I thought that was kinda cool and weird!

All of these are with 4 coat, none of them changed color :(

Claire's- Jen Jen

Yay, a polish that has my name! This is a very unusual color, I'm weird too so I guess it's fitting! Jen Jen is a light yellow green with holo glitter and a purple pearl effecting going on. The formula was very thin, I put on 3 coats and you can still see VNL. Not sure how readily available this is at Claire's, I'm guessing if yours still has it it's probably in the clearance bin!

China Glaze Mood Polish!

What a find this polish was, my cousin and I went into a random beauty supply a couple of weeks ago and found bins full of Dare2Wear mood polish also lurking in those bins were China Glaze Mood Polishes!! I seriously about died, I think I might have even done a happy dance and jumped up and down with excitement, I'm sure Michelle can verify this. Naturally I bought way too much, the price was pretty unbelievable (in a really awesomely great kinda way) and I couldn't help it! Between my cousin and I, we cleared them out of the old China Glaze.  Unfortunately these don't seem to  change colors anymore, at least this one didn't. Maybe mood polish expires? I have no idea, but do I care if this changes? Not really! I'm just stoked to own this! This doesn't have a name on it, none of them did, so we get to name this one too. Please suggest some bad ass names!!

Unknown moodie is kind of a pinkish goldish orangeish redish color, is that enough ish-es for ya? It does have a bit of a duochrome quality to it that you can see a little of in the picture. The formula was thin, I thought it would probably be thick since it was old...but nope! I love the cute bottles these are in too, wish China Glaze still did that!

This is 4 coats of the unnamed China Glaze Mood Polish and 1 coat of Sally Hansen Insta Dri.

Please let me know in the comments if you want to see more of these, I always worry about posting hard to find polish like this.

China Glaze- Frostbite

Good Morning, TGIF!! So I have a question for you, when you were a kid did you ever go to a "mud park"? I swear I have memories of going to a place like that when I was young but no one seems to know what the heck I am talking about so I'm not sure if I just made it up or what. I remember it being like a giant lake of mud and you could go down a water slide into it...or raft across it and you could build stuff. Then there were mud Jacuzzi pits you could sit in. If this place really does exist I'd really like to go to it, playing in the mud sounds like a great time lol

Today I have for you China Glaze- Frostbite! I got this in a blog sale from the wonderful Emily from Squared Nails. Frostbite is a really bright, in your face, blue. This color comes from the 2007 Ski Collection that China Glaze put out, so it's an oldie but a goodie! No problems with the formula for me, a little thin but not difficult to work with.

This is 2 coats of China Glaze- Frostbit and 1 coat of Sally Hansen Insta Dri

Maybelline- Banana Puddin'

This is polish is bananas b-a-n-a-n-a-s. Sorry, I couldn't resist, I do love me some Gwen. I most definitely sang Hollaback Girl the entire time I painted my nails with this polish. Maybelline- Banana Puddin' is a lemming that I never even put on my wish list because I thought I'd never get it. I squealed when I opened a package yesterday and this was an extra in it! It's pretty much amazing, I really like yellow polish but I don't have a lot of it because, let's face it, most yellow polish is a PITA to apply. This one was no exception, it was sheer, but well worth the effort! It's lived up to why I wanted it so much, what a nice treat to get it the way I did!

This is 4 coats of Maybelline- Banana Puddin' and 1 coat Sally Hansen Insta Dri

New York Summer- Amaranth

Good Morning! I am so excited to finally have this color! New York Summer- Amaranth is a polish that I have been wanting since the first swatch I saw. It's a bright green jelly, who wouldn't like that?!?  The formula was good, much like all jellies the polish was sheer but it built up really nicely! You can see VNL in the sun but that doesn't really bother me as much as it used to. I need to find more polishes like this, I've become a huge fan of jelly polishes lately!

What do you do when your version of My Private Jet sucks?

You franken the s**t out of it until it looks good. At least that's what I do! There are I think 4 different versions of My Private Jet by OPI out there, the original was packed full of holo goodness and the rest not so much. Lucky me picked up probably the most crappy version out of all 4, a brownish base with silver ugliness in it and no holo to be found. I got bored over the weekend and decided to play around with mine until it had some kind of holo I could be happy with, this is the result!

I used OPI- My Private Jet then mixed in China Glaze- Wireless Holographic Top Coat, Gosh- Holographic and Petites- Black until I was happy with how it looked. My camera sometimes doesn't like to pick up subtle holo so these don't look as fantastical as the polish does in real life.

This is 2 coats, the pictures are much better if you click on them! No idea what to name this baby though hmm....

Nicole by OPI- Whatever!

Good morning! Guess what?!? 11 followers till a giveaway woohoo! Hope everyone is having a good morning or night depending on where in the world you are. I woke up, turned on the news and saw a train accident involving the trains my Dad takes to work. Some idiot was standing on the tracks (probably to commit suicide). He got hit by a train and died. I called my Dad to see if he got delayed and he was actually on the train that hit the guy so he's been stuck in the train for a couple of hours until they can transfer everyone off or finish their investigation.

Anyway, today I have on a Nicole by OPI polish. I am normally not a fan of the Nicole polish for a number of reasons. The bottle shape is terrible, the brush is skinny and the formula is usually very thin (at least in the ones I've tried). I decided to pick this up because it was cheap and pretty! Whatever! is a pink and orange duochrome!! The formula was much  like all the other Nicole by OPI polishes I've tried, but it built up nicely. Other than that I have no issues! It really is a stunner, if they would always make this kind of polish I would probably buy more.

Glow In The Dark Nail Polish, yes please!

Hey guys, thought I'd post this before I hit the sack tonight. I picked this up at Rite Aid today, looks like they have put out all of their Halloween stuff, YAY! Included in their Halloween goodies was a display full of glow in the dark polish, I hear this comes out every year but it's the first time I've gotten my hands on them! I picked up all the colors they had, 6 in total. At $1.99 each it didn't break the bank! This is the first I put on. They don't have names so I'm gonna go ahead and dub this SLIMER! If you know where I got that name from you get a brownie point and a virtual high five.

This is Slimer being inconspicuous with FIVE coats, yes 5!

Glowing!! I'd imagine if you hold you fingers under a bright light for a while the glow would be even more vibrant!

Edited to Add:

Here are the rest of the colors, unfortunately it seems that they all glow the same color LOL ah well, I am disappointed but still excited for glow in the dark polish. I might franken something with the rest of the colors!

First up, purple

Skittles of the rest of the colors, White, Orange, Pink and Blue. I apologize for the not so hot quality of the glow picture. I had just realized they all glowed the same and was a bit annoyed lol

Petites- Black Diamond

I decided to pull this out of my stash yesterday, I've had it for a while and worn it a couple times but that was before the blog! Petites is one of those drugstore brands that I usually just walk by when I'm at Rite Aid, seems like they don't a whole ton of love on blogs either. Not sure why, maybe all the polishes aren't as fantastical as this one. Black Diamond is a greyish black base packed with holo glitter! Awesome! Application was good, the brush on these polishes is a little thin and short so that's the only challenge I have but it's not impossible to work with!

This is what I was wishing for the Nubar Prisims collection to look like, had those looked like this I would have died with excitement!

This is 2 coats of Petites Black Diamond.

BB Couture- Kelly's Green

So excited for this post, my first BB Couture! I got this from a wonderful girl over at MUA, it had been a lemming for a while. This is BB Couture- Kelly's Green, it comes from the Vampy Varnish collection they did a while back with Kelly from Vampy Varnish who I'm sure you all know. This is definitely my kind of color, it's kinda ugly pretty lol. Kelly's Green is an avocado green with black, gold and green glitter throughout it. Unfortunately on me it didn't come out as prominent as I had hoped and you really can't see the glitter on my nails. The formula was great, 2 coats for full opacity.  This color kind of gives me lobster hands but I'll wear it anyway!

This is 2 coats of BB Couture- Kelly's Green and 1 coat Sally Hansen Insta Dri

China Glaze- 2Nite

Hi guys! So I have to start off this post by telling you about the weird dream I had last night. Usually I don't remember them but this one was so weird that it stuck with me. So here we go, I met up with a friend at a bar, no idea who this girl was but somehow I knew she was my friend. Benji Madden from Good Charlotte was there and I was friends with him, we said hi and chatted before I sat down with my friend. All of a sudden Eric and Godric from True Blood were there and I knew them too (woohoo)!! However, they weren't vampires anymore, they were something else. Some drama went down and some dude came over and hassled my friend and I so we left and the dude followed us. Then out came Eric and Godric and a whole freaking army of their friends. And guess what they were...ANGELS like with huge wings that sprung outta their backs. What the heck! Then a giant angel smackdown happened on the dude that was hassling us and I woke up. Not gonna lie I was hoping for some kind of action with Eric in this dream but of course I woke up before that could occur, boo. Anyway it was seriously weird, like what is that dream supposed to mean? If anyone wants to decode it and let me know that would be great lol.

On to the nail polish which is not nearly as exciting as my dreams, China Glaze- 2Nite from the OMG collection. This is not a great picture, I was losing the sun when I was attempting to take pictures....but I'm sure you've seen it a bazillion times already. 2Nite is a blue holo, and it's my favorite kind of holo, not like the sparse holo's that are out there.  No problems with the formula or the application on this polish, though I made sure to let the base coat and 1st coat of polish dry fully before adding another coat. Also, no topcoat!

This is 2 coats of China Glaze- 2Nite.  Lets just focus on the middle finger which is what the polish usually looks like out in the sun!

Jade- Betrayal

Good Morning, Happy Friday! TGIF for real over here today. I can't wait until 3pm when I get off work so I can go home and relax, maybe catch up on some sleep and just generally by lazy! Today I have a picture I forgot to post a while ago, whoops! This is Jade- Betrayal, I found this polish at some random beauty supply for $1 and it looked pretty so how could I resist. For a $1 I wasn't expecting much, but it turned out to be pretty great! My only problem was massive staining, like even the skin around my fingers were smurf looking for a day haha!

This is 2 coats of Jade-Betrayal.

China Glaze- Channelesque

Morning everyone. Sorry about the lack of posting yesterday, it's been a rough couple of days and I wasn't home much. Then when I was home the stupid internet wouldn't work! I don't really feel like going into detail about what's going on since it will just make me upset but I have a very sick family member in the hospital :(

Since my last 2 days have sucked so bad I decided to try and cheer myself up with nail polish, it helped a little. This was a long time lemming of mine, China Glaze Channelesque! Not sure why in the world China Glaze discontinued this color, I love it! I'm sure you've all seen in a million times so hopefully you don't mind seeing it one more time!

This is 2 coats of China Glaze- Channelesque and 1 coat of Poshe.

Sour Blueberries

Morning guys! Today I decided to do something fun on my nails! Honestly the past couple of days I've been in such a crappy mood I haven't even wanted to paint my nails, that is highly unusual. I thought maybe doing something fun would help!

I used my very first Barry M polish, I got this in a swap and I've just been waiting for the right time to put it on! I found that it was a little hard to work with, very thick. Not sure if that's normal or not. Stupid me forgot to take a picture of the polish before I sparkled it up :( This picture is not color accurate for how Barry M- Blueberry Ice Cream really looks, its a little bit lighter. I layered Nubar- Sour Candy over it and it's in a blue jelly base that is a little tiny bit darker than Blueberry Ice Cream.

This is 2 coats of Barry M- Blueberry Ice Cream topped with 2 coats of Nubar Sour Candy and 1 coat of Sally Hansen Insta Dri.

Misa Heartbreak

Morning guys, Monday ugh. Actually I take that ugh back. One of my co-workers just came over and gave me a really cool gift. Something only a Gwen Stefani freak like me could appreciate, I love my co-workers!Other than that nothing exciting has happened in the hour and a half I've been awake today.

On to polish! This is Misa Heartbreak, I found it at a random store a couple months back. The only place I've ever actually seen Misa in person. They had a really old collection, I can't remember the name of it unfortunately. This color caught my eye, in the stores crappy lighting I thought it was just a regular brownish grey. When I got home it sat in my un-tried. Well yesterday, I was not having a good day and decided to pull something random out to put on. I put it on and wowsa hello secret beautifulness lol. It reminds me of Paradoxal, it's kinda boring in the shade or indoors but out in the sun it's a stunner. Heartbreak is a light grey with a magenta red shimmer out on the sun! I'm not sure if you can get this anywhere, I only found it on and it said discontinued :(

This is 2 coats of Misa- Heartbreak and 1 coat Poshe

Orly- Meet Me Under The Mistletoe

Alright, who's ready for Christmas?!? Not me, that's for sure. I thought it was strange that Transdesign already has up the Orly Holiday Collection, but that didn't stop me from snatching up a couple. This is my favorite of the two I got, Meet Me Under The Mistletoe. In the bottle it looks like there might be a blue/green duochrome and the first coat went on a little turquoise looking. Sadly after the 2nd coat it's just straight up green, but a really pretty green! The formula was great, first coat was streaky and patchy but the second coat fixed it just fine. It dries pretty smooth too, which is always nice for a polish with so much glitter in it.

This is 2 coats of Orly- Meet Me Under The Mistletoe and 1 coat of Poshe.

OPI Go Goth

Hi eveyone! Today I have the entire OPI Go Goth Mini set for Halloween for you! Not the most unique bunch of colors but I like them! I was looking at Transdesign last night and it looks likes they have added these to their store!

First Up, Sanguine. A dark vampy red. I don't have a ton of colors like this in my collection since I've never been much of a red kinda girl. The formula was good, the stupid brush in the mini bottles made application a little challenging. This is 2 coats of OPI- Sanguine, first picture is in indirect sunlight, 2nd is with flash.

Next Up, Obscurity. Your basic black matte polish. Not much to say about it. I'm not a huge fan of the way OPI does matte to be honest. This is 2 coats.

Next is Nevermore. A deep glittery blurple. When I saw this bottle it immediately reminded me of one of my favorites polishes ever, OPI Ink! This is 2 coats. The first picture is under lamp light since the sun won't cooperate with me. The second picture is a comparison with OPI Ink, to my eyes they look the same! The comparison picture looks better if you click on it!

Last up, Unripened. The star of the set in my opinion and it's the only one you can buy a full sized bottle of on transdesign. It's a black base with teal blue glitter, gorgeous! This picture does it no justice, I couldn't capture it as well as I wanted under any kind of light or even with flash. This picture is also better if you click on it! This is 2 coats!

Another Day, Another Holo

HAPPY FRIDAY!! My favorite day of the work week! Last night was fun, I went out to dinner with a couple of the girls from work to a new restaurant I've never been to called True Foods Kitchen. For the first time ever I tried Hummus lol. I'm pretty much the most picky eater ever so it's very rare that I try new food. I didn't love it but it wasn't horrible! I had a yummy pizza with Fontina cheese (yum) and Chicken, it was pretty darn good. I'll probably go to that restaurant again!

Today I have for you Color Club- Fashion Addict. This sat untried for a couple of months, I don't think I realized this was a holo when I bought it. It was one of those polishes that I picked up at Bed Bath & Beyond and was like meh that's pretty $3 SOLD lol. I saw a swatch of this a couple weeks ago on another blog and immediately pulled it out to wear soon. When I finally put it on, it was a stunner! The base color is a light lavender and the holo is really great! Application was great, much like every other Color Club polish I've used! I actually ended up wearing this for about 3 days and it held up surprisingly well!

This is 2 coats of Color Club Fashion Addict and 1 coat of Sally Hansen Insta Dri

Essie Sew Psyched

Not sure if I've mentioned this before but I am not an Essie fan. I've never really had a positive experience with their polish. I always find it to be thin and sheer and I'm not down with that. Anyway, I decided to pick up Sew Psyched from their Fall 2010 collection, it's such a weird color that I thought I'd at least give it a shot. It has changed my opinion of Essie a little bit, it was pretty fantastic. Not sheer or thin at all! Not really sure how to describe this shade, its kind of a greenish grey. I don't personally have anything like it, though I have read that its a pretty good dupe of Rescue Beauty Lounge- Diddy Mow and since Essie is quite a bit cheaper this could be a good alternative to it! My only tiny issue with this polish is that it took forever to dry, even with a quick dry top coat. I didn't go to bed until about 2 hours after I did my mani and when I got up this morning there was some denting on a couple of nails.

This is 2 coats of Essie- Sew Psyched and 1 coat of Sally Hansen Insta Dri

Catrice- I Sea You

Morning everyone! I am so tired today, I think I need like 3 more hours of sleep. I can't wait till this weekend so I can catch up on all the zzzz's I miss out during the work week! Tonight I'm going to dinner with some of the girls from work to a place called True Foods, I guess it's supposed to be all natural and whatnot. Looking forward to trying it out!

So today, I have Catrice- I Sea you! This was a big lemming of mine and I got it in a swap over at MUA! It did not disappoint. I've only tried a few Catrice polishes but they are always great! I'm loving the color too, a green blue that leans more green!

This is 2 coats of Catrice- I Sea You and 1 coat of Sally Hansen Insta Dri

Today was an EPIC haul day!!

I LOVE days like this, seriously. It's not healthy how happy I get when I haul like this lol. A big huge gigantic THANK YOU to Cat who was nice enough to email me about an amazing beauty supply close to me that carries Nubar. Before today I've never seen an actual store that had it, I thought you could only buy online. Well now that I know that is not the case I am in trouble! In addition to going to my new favorite store I got a package in the mail from a recent ebay purchase and a couple of goodies from Transdesign.

A couple polishes are missing from the picture thanks to my Mom hijacking one of the Nubar's and me setting aside an OPI for a friend!

So much good stuff:

OPI- Go Goth Mini Set
China Glaze- Wireless Holo Topcoat
China Glaze- Lap of Luxury
OPI- My Private Jet (A slightly less crappy version than I already had)
OPI- Sapphire In the Snow
Essie- Mink Muffs
Essie- Sew Psyched

China Glaze- Channelsque
China Glaze- Rain Storm
Orly- Naughty or Nice
Orly- Meet Me Under The Mistletoe

and a bunch of Nubar--
Purple Rain Glitter
Festival Glitter
Sour Candy
Hyacinth Sparkle
Violet Sparkle
and Moonshadow

Nubar Reclaim

Hey All!! So yesterday after work I took the wiener dog to the vet (again) this time he only cost me $120 which is SO much better than the last 3 times I've taken him. Poor guy is still all itchy face yeasty ears, I had no idea dogs could get yeast infections in their ears until about a month ago...I guess its from moisture getting stuck in there or something and since he's got floppy ears he's more prone to it. Sucky, my wallet does not approve of this!!

Today I have on Nubar- Reclaim, I wanted this polish from the first swatch I saw of it. I have turned into such a holo fangirl, I cannot get enough of them! I think this could possibly be my favorite one yet, green + holo is pretty much the best thing ever! I can't complain about anything with this, I had no issues with the formula or application. It was much easier to work with than the Gosh Holographic and putting a top coat over this one didn't do anything funky to the polish! I fully intended to used the Nubar Foundation & Diamont Top Coat I bought but about 2 minutes after doing my mani I realized I had totally forgotten to do that...since I didn't have any issues I don't think it makes such a difference. Sometimes it does with brands, like Nfu-oh (or so I have heard since I don't own any of their amazing holo's or flakies).

This is 2 coats of Nubar- Reclaim and 1 coat of Sally Hansen Insta Dri.
