Essie Sew Psyched

Not sure if I've mentioned this before but I am not an Essie fan. I've never really had a positive experience with their polish. I always find it to be thin and sheer and I'm not down with that. Anyway, I decided to pick up Sew Psyched from their Fall 2010 collection, it's such a weird color that I thought I'd at least give it a shot. It has changed my opinion of Essie a little bit, it was pretty fantastic. Not sheer or thin at all! Not really sure how to describe this shade, its kind of a greenish grey. I don't personally have anything like it, though I have read that its a pretty good dupe of Rescue Beauty Lounge- Diddy Mow and since Essie is quite a bit cheaper this could be a good alternative to it! My only tiny issue with this polish is that it took forever to dry, even with a quick dry top coat. I didn't go to bed until about 2 hours after I did my mani and when I got up this morning there was some denting on a couple of nails.

This is 2 coats of Essie- Sew Psyched and 1 coat of Sally Hansen Insta Dri

  3. Thanks Gabbi!

Jess- I never think the ones I buy are going to be sheer but they are always such a PITA to work with I make it through doing 1 nail and set aside to swap lol. I bought Mink Muffs last night too and I have a couple others that just sit in untried (like Sexy Divide). I'm just so meh about Essie that they just sit and sit and I never get around to trying them out.

  4. This is SUCH a pretty color and it looks so much like Diddy Mow!
I am always on the fence about Essie. I've had a few good experience and a few bad ones. The bad ones go one of two ways - too sheer, or too gloopy and hard to apply! That's what I ran into with the spring pastels.

  5. yay i'm wearing this one now! i kinda don't get why more people don't like essie, it's in my top 5 brands!

this DID take forever to dry on me, i hadta redo three effing nails because my topcoat ruined it, too wet haha which like never happens!

it reminds me of dirty mossy concrete or something. soooo glad i don't have to buy diddy mow now! (hehe i rhymed :)

  6. It's pretty but it's too bad for the drying time :( I have only tried Splash of Grenadine from Essie but it took an eternity to dry, too :(

  8. Hi! I just found your blog!
I want to buy this nail polish cause I like the colour. I have bought 2 essie polishes so far : waltz and van d'ego. The last one was a disaster, didn't apply well at all! Waste of money. And you're right they take sooooooo long to dry!!!!

  9. Essie creates both winners and losers, the resort collection was awesome in color and formula, yesterday I used limited addiction from the fall collection and it was a pita to apply....I keep on buying them because of the gorgeous colors....sigh...

  10. I am usually a season behind with nail colors. Today I tried Sew Psyched. I LOVE it! I wore Smokin' Hot and Chanel Blue Satin all winter. You HAVE to use Seche Vite for a top coat. THE best out there.
