Milani Neon Polishes

Good Morning!  I'm actually awake this morning, that is rare...I usually get to work still half asleep but I've been up for like 2 hours! Apparently the trunk to my car was open all night, so my Mom woke me up to tell me and I couldn't go back to sleep. Surprisingly no one stole anything out of my car, I guess they didn't want my junk that I just toss back there lol

Anyway, I got a wonderful package in the mail from Milani the other day, I'm so excited to share these with you. Milani is a really great drug store brand, I love them because they put out great polishes collection after collection and are really good at doing dupes of the more expensive polishes, Dressmaker anyone? I've seen these neon polishes lurking in their core display for a while but I never picked them up, I usually just go for the new displays. What a mistake that was, their neons are great...seriously, I even like the barbie pink color! I'm putting these swatches in order of least favorite to favorite...though really I loved the last 4 pretty equally! I did not layer any of these over white, I don't think any of them other than Totally 80's really need it, they were pretty opaque on their own.

First up, Totally 80's. It's a greenish yellow, reminds me of the Shrek colors OPI put out. Not really loving it on me. The was the only one that I had issues with streaking..but it's a yellow so that is expected. I've seen other swatches of this and it seems more yellow on other people, my skin tone seems to pull out the green more than others.

Techo Red is a really great red that leans a little orange. Usually I don't like orangey red's on me but I really enjoy this one. The formula was great on this one, it went on a little sheer but built up really nicely.

Fresh Teal, so pretty but such a thorn in my side. This one gave me major headaches to photograph. It is a teal that heavily leans green but no matter what kind of light I took pictures it in looked blue. I finally gave up on my digital camera and took the picture below with my cell phone, and it actually came out fairly color accurate! Now, I loooooove this color! The formula was great, you could probably get away with 1 coat if you were careful.

Pink Hottie, a bright neon barbie pink. This was a surprise favorite, I feel so girly wearing this! This one is the brightest of the bunch, though all my pictures make it not seem that way. The formula was great on this one too, like Techno Red it started off a bit sheer but built up really well.

Last but not least, Dude Blue. I love this one, definitely my favorite of the ones I've tried! Dude Blue is a really vibrant and bright blue, I don't think I have anything too close to this in my stash! I can't rave enough about this one, the polish glided on so easily...pretty much perfection! I also really like the name, it reminds me of a show I loved when I was a kid called Hey Dude lol.

Milani polish can be purchased online at http://www.milanicosmetics.com/ or http://www.cherryculture.com. I've also seen it at CVS and Target, since these are in their core line they are pretty easy to find!

  7. I have Pink Hottie and the orange one (the name escapes me) from this collection. I love them both! I just used Pink Hottie for the first time and the application was like a DREAM. No clean up, nice clean cuticle lines, even application, PERFECT! I wish all nail polishes were like this. And I love the satiny finish. I'm gonna need back ups of this one!!
