Franken time!

Alright, my first franken! Actually, not gonna lie it's my 4th but the 1st that actually looks like a decent polish lol. I wasn't really going for any specific look when I started concocting this beauty. I started with Pure Ice-In The Mood, then mixed in a bit of Rimmel- Night Before, I like the way it looked after those 2 but wanted it a little darker so I added a splash of Petites- Night.

Turned out to be a nice blurple, it almost looks like a denim color in some light. It has a nice shimmer to it, silver in some lights almost pink in others (though I couldn't capture that with my camera, boo). Overall I am very happy with this. Now I just need to think of a snappy name for it, suggestions are welcome!

I have on 2 coats of my name-TBD Franken and 1 coat of Seche Vite.

China Glaze- Kiwi Cool-Ada

I think this color is officially my new favorite color for this summer. I wasn't loving it in the bottle to be completely honest but on it is pretty fantastic!

This color comes from the Poolside Collection China Glaze put out earlier this year, I have most of the colors from the collection and this is easily my favorite. Application was good, I layered Kiwi Cool-Ada over American Apparel- Cotton for full neon impact! The first coat was very streaky, but that is to be expected with any neon polish. The second coat significantly evened out the streakiness and after the third coat the opacity was perfect and streak free!

I decided to post a picture of this polish in every kind of light I took pictures in since they all turned out well. I expected my camera to have a seizure when trying to photograph this but that did not end up happening!

I have on 2 coats of American Apparel- Cotton as a base and 3 coats of China Glaze- Kiwi Cool-Ada, sealed and shined up with 1 coat of Seche Vite.

Hoof Hands!

Has anyone else tried their products? Last time I broke a nail really bad I happened to go shopping the next day at Bed, Bath & Beyond with an expanded beauty section and came across little bottles of awesome called Hoof Hands Naturally Rapid and another called Hoof Hands Naturally Strong.I decided to buy both since I was running low on the Sally Hansen Nail Strengthener I usually use.

I wasn't sure what to expect with them since I've never heard of either product, I was pleasantly surprised! My nails have grown really fast, and they feel stronger than ever! *knock on wood*

Has anyone used this stuff before? Did you also have good results?

Not my pictures...those are from Walmart.com =)

Dear Anna Sui, ILU

Today I have on my very first Anna Sui polish. I was hesitant to buy it because of the price tag ($15), but OMG it is AMAZING! Completely worth every single cent, in fact if all of her polish is this awesome I would be willing to pay more than $15 for it lol.

This polish rules for a number of reasons:
1. Completely opaque in ONE coat!
2. The brush is wide like whoa, I'm talking one swipe was enough to cover my whole nail (except the thumb, that one only took 2).
3. Check out the cute bottle
4. This polish is scented,  it smells like tea rose when it dries!
5. Formula is fantastic, not thick or thin...it's just right.

Can you tell I am excited about this polish?!? I had high expectations for it and they were not only met but exceeded! You go Anna Sui, I am your new biggest fan. As soon as I get paid guess what I am buying more of?

I have on 1 coat of Anna Sui-170 (Turquoise) and 1 coat of Seche Vite.

You can buy this polish from Urbanoutfitters.com but I'm sure there are other places to purchase it online too :)

Milani- Hi-Res

Well ladies, I made a successful franken today. It's the first of 4 that hasn't turned out gross looking, I'll post it in a few days! Today I have on Milani- Hi-Res, this is the other color I bought a couple weeks back from their 3D holographic collection.

It is SO pretty! I think the holo comes out a lot better, I've been staring at my nails all day! Don't have much else to say about it, but if you are considering buying from this collection I would definitely recommend this color! Now off to get a bite to eat then come home for TRUE BLOOD, fingers crossed for lots of Eric Northman in tonight's episode because let's face it....that's the only reason I watch haha

I have on 2 coats of Milani- Hi-Res and 1 coat of Seche Vite. Picture is taken under a Daylight bulb because for some reason it is overcast today :(

Paul & Joe- Mirage (005)

Today I have my first ever Paul & Joe Nail Polish for you, I picked this up from UrbanOutfitters.com. This color is not one I am normally drawn to but I wanted to go outside my box and try something different. The color reminds me of the beach, more specifically sand, and I love it! It's a nice neutral shade but also special because of all the shimmer! I have to also mention that the brush was awesome, a nice flat brush. Not as wide as OPI or Sally Hansen brushes but I think I actually might like it better than those brands. Extra bonus...the bottle is super cute too!

I have on 2 coats of Paul & Joe- Mirage (005) and 1 coat of Seche Vite. Please excuse the little cuts on the pinky and middle fingers, I had to file paperwork yesterday at work and it was paper cuts galore.

It looks like you can buy this polish at Urban Outfitters (online only) and Amazon.com, I found a couple other sites that had it too, but since I don't know how legit they are I wont post them =)

Flying Stripes

Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far, I slept in until almost 10am today, it felt so good! Today I did something simple on my nails because I am lazy haha

I used China Glaze- Flying Dragon as a base and stamped over it using Finger Paints- Sketchy Character and Bundle Monster plate BM20. I don't love the way it turned out the stripes are super wonky on the middle fingernail, I seem to always have issues with the BM plates which most of the time I don't even bother posting because it looks so awful. I guess there must be a learning curve with them or something, so I need to keep on practicing!

China Glaze- Orange Marmalade

Slowly but surely I am getting all the polishes from the summer days collection China Glaze put out last year, not sure why it's taken me so long! Orange Marmalade is my newest buy from that collection, it is incredible!!

I actually don't really like the color orange on clothing or anything like that but I seem love orange polish, this color is exactly why I love orange polish. It's so gorgeous, a nice vibrant orange packed with golden shimmer. It kind reminds me of a koi fish! Application was a breeze, I expected it to be sheer and it only took 2 coats for full coverage...gotta love that!

I have on 2 coats of China Glaze- Orange Marmalade and 1 coat of Seche Vite. First picture is in the shade and the second is out in the sun!

When I went outside to snap a picture of this polish this was waiting for me on the patio. I think Oreo is really enjoying the nice sunny weather today lol! He didn't even move when I opened the door, talk about total relaxation!

Finger Painting is Fun!

Alright first time using Finger Paints nail polish, I was so excited about this polish that took off the Del Sol I had on earlier today and did this...so you get 2 posts in one day!. This polish is AWESOME!! I'm not exactly sure why I always looked past these at Sally's but it won't happen anymore!

First up is a swatch of Finger Paints- Sketchy Character, a gorgeous chocolate brown. This was 2 coats

I decided that the brown wasn't enough and I wanted to use the other color I picked up. I was going for a french tip but I severely messed one up lol....so instead it's more of a dipped in blue kinda look haha. Also, check out the shine on these you can see me in my nails!

The tip of the nail is Finger Paints- Cerulean Seascape, a beautiful royal blue with a bit of shimmer to it. I absolutely love this color. I am going to have to do a full mani with it very soon!

Del Sol- Electrick

Last night was an epic polish haul night for me, I love when that happens! I bought 6 new bottles of OPI 5 of which were new to me and are colors I had been wanting for a while (but was too cheap to buy, I found a place that sells OPI for $3.75, WHAT!!). The other 1, A Grape Fit, was a replacement bottle....my original fell off the counter in my bathroom and broke, the floor is a nice shade of purple now! I got a few more China Glaze polishes and my first 2 Finger Paint polishes! I will be trying those out this weekend! As if that wasn't enough, when I got home my second batch of Zoya Polish exchange goodies were waiting by the door, what a nice surprise!

I also picked up the polish swatched below last night at Walgreen's. Not sure if this is a new brand or type of polish, but since I rarely go there it's new to me! I love the idea of color changing polish so I had to buy a bottle! Many moons ago, about 10 or 11 years worth of moons lol,  I went on a cruise down to the Caribbean and one of the stops was Grand Cayman Island. We went to a touristy shop right around where we got off the ship and I bought a shirt that changed colors in the sun, this polish reminds me of that! It also makes me want to go back to the island, Grand Cayman is my number 3 favorite place I've ever been, only the Columbia River Gorge near Portland Oregon and Ketchikan Alaska beat it on my list!

I picked out the color Electrick, a pale icy blue that in the sun is supposed to turn the shade of green you see in the flower on the front of the bottle! Application was not so great, you can see my issues in the pictures. It was a streaky nightmare plus whatever weirdness you can see on my middle finger and ring finger that happened while it was drying. The color never did fully turn into the green of the flower on the bottle, I stood in the sun for about 15 minutes waiting for it to be that vibrant but it never happened. I might pick up another bottle of this brand next time I am near a Walgreen's, most likely a shade that is not a metallic frosty kind of finish like this one. I believe this polish was around $7 for those wondering, and there were tons of shades to pick from...I wish I would have taken a picture of the display!

I have on 3 coats of Del Sol- Electrick and no top coat (wasn't sure if that would affect the color change or not!). First picture is indoors under a fancy new light bulb I bought at Home Depot, it says that it is supposed to be like "Daylight", I like it! I need to go back and buy another to try and eliminate shadows. One day my photos are going to look awesome, just gotta find the right combo of light & camera settings! The second picture is out in the bright sun!

Sally Hansen- Sea and Be Seen

If you haven't entered my giveaway yet you might want to hurry up and do so! I'm closing in on 150 followers (I had 140 when I started to post this!) once I hit 150 the giveaway will be closed and a lucky winner chosen!! So far there are a little over 90 entries, not counting 3 or 4 people that left comments last night that I haven't had a chance to verify yet! =)

I seem to be on a bit of a blue kick this week, after I took off the Milani polish I posted yesterday I went through my bin of polish I haven't used yet and pulled this one out. This blue is much more flattering on me, I think because it has a bit of a tendency to look purple in some light. Now I have seen swatches of this shade on many blogs and all the pictures seem to look different...I've seen a purple kind of periwinkle blue, medium glittery blue and in my case a light shimmery blue. I guess it just depends on the light and maybe what your skin tone is. Looking at my nails right now and the picture on my screen it's true to how it looks on me!

I wasn't sure about this polish after the first coat, it was SO sheer. I thought it might be one of those pretty in the bottle, pain in the ass to apply, never opaque polishes. It turned out not to be though, after 3 coats it was perfectly opaque and true to how it looks in the bottle!

I have on 3 coats of Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure- Sea And Be Seen and 1 coat of Seche Vite. Picture was taken outside, it's overcast so no direct sunlight to be found!

June 21, 2010

Milani- Cyberspace

Today I have on Milani- Cyberspace. This is my first time using this brand. I've seen it at Target and  various drug stores and always passed it by since none of the colors caught my eye. Then one day a couple weeks ago I was at CVS or Rite Aid (they all seem the same so it could be either lol) in search of some of the new Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure colors when a display of sparkly awesomeness stole my attention. It was the Milani 3D Holographic collection! I picked up Cyberspace and Hi- Res. I have tried really really hard to like this shade on me. But I just cant, I think I am too pale for this color...thank my Dad and his Irish genes he passed along to me. I think this will be a strictly pedicure polish from now on, sadly.  So if you have a darker complexion I think this color would be fab, if you are pale to the point of practically being see through like I am this might not be the greatest color on you =)

I have on 3 coats of Milani- Cyberspace and 1 coat of Seche Vite. You could get away with 2 coats of this color, I decided to use 3 just for good measure! Picture is taken in direct sunlight for maximum sparkly goodness!!

Claire's Magic

Hope everyone had a good Father's Day! I took my Dad to see Toy Story 3, it was super cute! I bought this polish a couple weeks back and it was sitting in my "need to try" bin. I thought I wasn't going to get to it for a while but  I decided I was in the mood to try it out today.

Magic is a deep purple packed with bright pink shimmer, it's pretty much awesome! I love purple and this is a unique one in my collection! I have on 2 coats of Claire's- Magic and 1 coat of Seche Vite

Funky Fingers- Daiquiri On Deck

I got this polish in a swap I did recently with Kristina over at My Lucid Bubble if you have never checked out her blog you should, it's awesome!

She sent me some awesome colors and I wasn't sure what I wanted to try first. I picked Daiquiri on Deck because it is not a color I would normally wear. In fact I think this might be the only peachy kind of shade in my entire collection! I thought I might not like this color on me, boy was I wrong! This color is fab, a nice orangey peach that went on easy and is nice and opaque! I have on 3 coats of Funky Fingers- Daiquiri On Deck and 1 coat of Seche Vite. Picture was taken in the shade.

Funky Fingers polishes can be bought at Five Below, which unfortunately for me is no where near me. If you happen to have one near you I would fully recommend this color!

I think we've got a gusher over here...

I am so excited for these nails! I'm going to a show on Friday night to see a band called New Years Day, if you haven't heard of them do your ears a favor and CLICK HERE to listen to some of their music on Myspace. I've been pondering ideas of how I wanted to do my nails for weeks (literally), first I was thinking maybe a sunrise kinda thing since they have a song called Sunrise Sunset and another one called Temecula Sunrise...then I wanted to do something Halloween-ish. I kept going back and forth between those ideas. I decided tonight that I was going to go the Halloween route and wanted to try bleeding cuticles and scary bats. Turned out interesting, not a good way lol. I took all my polish off and started over, I knew I wanted to keep with the blood idea and remembered a post I saw over at The Daily Nail a while back so I decided to recreate it.

BLOOD SPLATTER!! I think this might be the easiest, most fun manicure I have ever done. I started with a base of American Apparel- Cotton then I used a straw I dipped in American Apparel- Downtown LA and blew the red polish onto my nail to look like blood splatter. I might need to resurrect this mani for when the new season of Dexter starts!

Sally Hansen HD- Byte

I was going through my pictures and noticed I forgot to post this swatch! I had this on a while ago...don't have much to say about it. I have a love/hate relationship with pink nail polish. I love it in the bottle and hate it on me. Even though I didn't love this color on me, I got a lot of compliments the day I wore it.

It's a bright pink with a ton of glittery shimmer, this is 2 coats of Sally Hansen HD- Byte and 1 coat of Seche Vite

Urban Outfitters- Green

Over the weekend my cousin and I went on a big huge polish shopping spree (because I obviously need more, I am at almost 300 bottles!!), we went to this part of Orange County called "Little Saigon" and whoa, seriously cheap nail polish central...China Glaze for $2!! If you are from around here you gotta check it out, it's awesome. After going crazy there we went to a mall called Fashion Island in Newport Beach to check out Claire's and ended up stopping at Urban Outfitters. Usually I avoid UO like the plague, I could easily spend thousands of dollars there. They always have the most random funny useless junk and you best bet I want to buy all of it! I can't even look at their website, I go on and add all the weird things they sell to my cart and then I have to turn the computer off and walk away so I don't buy it all! All and all I did well, I only spent about $18 all together, I was impressed with myself. I got 2 nail polishes, which until that day I didn't even know they sold. I also got my Dad a funny Father's Day gift, a flip book called "Creative Cursing" lol. My Dad has got some massive road rage and likes to yell and call people names so I figure with this book he can get some ideas of funny names to call them.

Anyway...I picked up the polish you will see below and a Purple Glittery looking one. It was 2 polishes for $8, can't pass that kind of deal up! It looks like you can buy some of their shades on their website  (USA only...boo) but coincidentally they don't have either shade I bought on there. Looks like they have some Anna Sui & Pop Beauty nail polish too, I might pick up a couple of those next time I get paid!

The first of the 2 colors I tried from Urban Outfitters is Green...that is the color and the name. They aren't very creative I guess. I don't love the formula, and the cap was kind of a pain but I love the color so I can look past the negatives. The polish has a Jelly finish, which I love! I tried taking pictures in all kinds of light and the color is leaning towards teal in every single picture. In person it's a much deeper green, also no VNL like it appears in the picture.

I took this picture this morning on my phone so forgive the crappy quality. MUCH more color accurate...funny that my stupid Blackberry takes a better picture than my actual camera lol

Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday

This was a request from reader Dovey!

Lippmann Collection- Happy Birthday looks like a bottle of pure happy, it is clear polish packed with a ton of multi sized, multi colored glitter....reminds me of confetti!  Pretty sure this is meant to be a layering polish from all the pictures I've seen online of it.

I have layered it over OPI- My Private Jet (index finger), American Apparel- Hassid (middle finger), American Apparel- Cotton (index finger) and nothing on the pinky finger. 2 VERY thick coats of Lippmann Collection- Happy Birthday on each nail. Pros- glitter..tons of it. Cons- have to pretty much place the glitter where you want it, best to wait a loooong time between coats or you will just drag all the glitter to the tip of the nail.

Overall, I like it...it's fun! I prefer it over the white, it doesnt shine to its potential over My Private Jet & Hassid...it's kinda meh on it's own  not layered over anything.

Let's play "What Version of OPI- My Private Jet Is This?!?" + Some Blog Updates

Hi everyone! You might have noticed a few changes around here lately. I've been messing with the template of my blog trying to find something I like...not sure how I feel about this one I have currently but I like it for now. I added a few pages...About Me, Contact Me, Disclosure & My Collection. You can find those towards the top of the page. Just wanted to let you know that the "My Collection" page is about 99% up to date with what I have at this very moment and it will be updated as I buy or swap for different polishes. If you want to see anything swatched from that list please email me and I'll be more than happy to work on that for you :) You can email me on the contact page, also please let me know if that contact form isn't working...I just added it so hopefully it does work. I am majorly stupid at anything HTML so I really wouldn't be shocked if it did not work lol

Now onto my game. I've heard there are a few variations of  OPI- My Private Jet floating around. I saw a blog about it a few weeks ago and dug out my bottle to swatch and see which version I have. It looks like I have gotten sort of a grayish brown silver non-holo glitter version. I've seen pictures of the ones with holo glitter and am somewhat sad that I don't have that version...click here to see what I am talking about, that version is SO much better! I will now be searching for the holo version whenever I go polish shopping.

I have on 2 coats of OPI- My Private Jet and 1 coat of Seche Vite. Picture was taken in indirect sunlight

Rescue Beauty Lounge- Scrangie

Happy Monday, I am home sick from work today feeling like crap. My day has a little bright spot though, the RBL- Scrangie I pre-ordered the other day arrived in the mail this morning! It is so pretty, it lives up to the "beetle wing" description I've seen of it!

I have on 2 coats of Rescue Beauty Lounge- Scrangie and 1 coat of Seche Vite. The first picture is out in the sun, the second is in the shade using flash. Neither are great pictures but out of all the ones I took these show off the dimension of the color the best.

What are your favorite Zoya's?

Alright fellow polish aholics, I have a question for you....

What is your favorite Zoya shade? I decided that I am going to take advantage the of the polish exchange 1 more time before it ends. I was re-organizing my room to better position my Helmer along with organizing the polish in my Helmer and came across the awful Blush mini set I posted about earlier this week...luckily it has 6 bad polishes so I can get rid of them instead of gifting them to my 10 year old cousin. I can't decide what Zoya's to get so I want input from you ladies! Keep in mind the only color I don't love is light pink. Below is a list of all the Zoya shades I already own. I also a added picture of my Helmer now placed for easy access, I tried to be excited about it with my Dad and he gave me a you're weird kinda look and went back to watching whatever sports he has on in the living room haha!

Zoya's I have:
Tama
Tangy
Juicy
Verushka
Creamy
Suvi
Barbie
Irene
Juno
Akyra
Midori

Deborah Lippmann- Red Ruby Slippers

Happy Weekend! Today has been eventful, not in a good way. Woke up late and missed something I really wanted to go to, then Degen (my dog) decided to be an escape artist so I had to chase him all over the place! Not fun! Next up, cleaning my room. yay?

Anyway, so the reason I am wearing this polish today is because the fabulous Deborah Lippmann was at my local mall this morning as part of Nordstroms beauty trend show. I was seriously so excited about it that I did my nails with the polish I got of hers the other day. Well, I completely slept through it lol. I set my alarm for 7am since the event started at 8am and apparently when it went off I rolled over, turned it off, and went back to sleep. I woke up at about 9:45am and had a little panic when I looked at the clock. Super bummed but oh well, at least my nails still look pretty!

I have on 3 coats of Lippmann Collection- Ruby Red Slippers and 2 coats of Seche Vite to smooth out the texture

Rescue Beauty Lounge- Locavore

This is the first Rescue Beauty Lounge polish I've ever owned...I can tell you already that I will be buying much more of it much to my wallets displeasure. Kinda kills me that it's so expensive...$18!! I guess it's like Lippmann Collection polish, it's expensive but super amazing! I also have to say that they have awesome customer service, I emailed yesterday to inquire about where I could buy their polish in an actual store...they emailed me back in less than an hour! With most places I am lucky to ever get an answer back let alone a answer within the hour!

The Rescue Beauty website describes this polish as "How do you peruse the organic arugula at the local Farmer's Market without looking 'hippie' minus the 'chic?' With this melange of gold, silver, green and blue glitter." but it is also packed with PINK glitter which in my opinion makes it even better!

The first picture is a shade picture, the second is out in the bright sun. I have on 2 coats of Rescue Beauty Lounge- Locavore and 1 coat of Seche Vite. Click the pictures for giant sized glittery awesomness!

Plastix Mani Refreshed!

Hi Everyone! Hope you all are having a good day, mine has been busy and annoying haha! Fortunately I can look at my nails and they put a smile on my face because they look fun and happy!

I'm still wearing Orly-Viridian Vinyl, it has surprisingly held up very well. I sit at a desk and type and file all day so the fact that it has not chipped even once on any nail is pretty much amazing! Now that I said that I'll probably chip a nail at any moment!

I decided to spice up the mani a little, I added some dots and a shiny topcoat so you can get an idea of what the 2 colors I bought look like shiny too! For my ring finger the base is Orly- Purple Pleather and the dots are Orly- Viridian Vinyl, all the other fingers have Orly- Viridian Vinyl as a base and Orly- Purple Pleather dots (and stars on the Pinky nail, that was the original plan but it didn't work out so well lol). Covered it all with a a coat of Seche Vite.

For anyone wondering how I did the dots you have to check out this fab tutorial I saw yesterday and was inspired by. I made a template with painters tape and hole punchers, it really couldn't be any easier. You can see the video on A Day In The Life Of Dollface She has some other really great tricks and ideas in the video, honestly I can't believe I had never thought to do this!

2 New ORLY Plastix Polishes!!

Hey guys, today has been a really amazing nail polish day for me. Got a bunch of OPI & China Glaze for cheap like whoa. I also went by Ulta and guess what they put out.... the new Orly Plastix Collection!! I went to Ulta about a week ago and they had them behind the register but wouldn't let me buy them yet so I was happy to see them hiding in the back of the store waiting so nicely for me. I drove home like a psycho and got to painting lol.

I only bought 2 colors since I wasn't sure if I'd like them or not.... and do I like them?? Let's just say I will be going back to get the other 2 shades very soon! These both have a great formula, a little on the thick side but I like my polish like that so its a-ok with me! They dry to a matte finish but are not like any of the other matte polishes I own, I can't really describe it...I suck at describing things unless I can use the terms glittery or sparkly lol

First up is Orly- Purple Pleather, its a nice bright purple. I was having a bit of a problem capturing the finish of the polish, the second picture shows it a little better, as we all know purple is sometimes a pain to capture correctly on camera so its looking a little more blue than it actually is, the second picture is also more true to the actual color. This is 2 coats of polish, no top coat.

This is Orly- Viridan Vinyl, I really really love this color. Its a nice teal blue. The way the finish looks on the middle finger is the most true to life. This is 2 coats, no top coat.

OPI-Catch Me In Your Net

2 posts in one day! I picked up this color the other day and couldn't wait to try it out. This is OPI- Catch Me In Your Net from the OPI Summer 2010 Summer Flutter Collection. Its pretty much an exact dupe of Zoya- Charla but hey you can never have enough blue glitters with a green flash amiright?? lol

This is 2 coats of OPI-Catch Me In Your Net and 1 coat of Seche Vite. Picture was taken out in the sun so that the glitter really shines, click the picture for a close up of the sparkly goodness!

**Just wanted to let you guys know that this color stained my nails REALLY bad...I'm not sure why, I used a nail strengthener and a base coat under it and yet my nails are now stained blue (they look oxygen deprived!) Not sure if anyone else that has tried this color has experienced this as well**

Blush Disco Diva Nail Set

Hey Everyone! I am back from San Diego! It was a nice little getaway, the weather was really overcast so all my pictures look cruddy :( I went all over the place though and saw everything I wanted! I think La Jolla Cove was my favorite spot, I'm going to have to go back one day when it isn't so overcast because I'm sure it would be even more beautiful! While I was driving to a little town called Julian I saw something pretty awesome...a CAMEL Dairy Farm, I didn't believe it at first but then I looked up the hill and there really was Camels up there! The sign said they sold Camel Milk Soap, it was closed though or I sure would have gone there and bought some lol! While I was down in San Diego I stopped at a Ross and I bought the 7 piece Poptastic set from Color Club for $7.99...what a bargain! I also picked up the polish I have on today...I got bored last night and did my nails in the hotel!

Alright so this is the polish, the brand is Blush and the collection is 6 shades called the Disco Diva Nail Set. I paid $3.99 for this!

I decided to do each nail a different color, I used all the colors except the yellow because I figured that would probably be the one that required like 500 coats to look good. I was wrong, ALL of them required a lot of coats to look decent...not even good, just decent. Not only were these more coats than I personally like, they also all show VNL (Visible Nail Line) and dried with bubbles.  I guess for $3.99 what can you expect, I can't complain too much. I might gift these to my 10 year old cousin for her birthday this year.

On my pinky I have on 4 coats of Stayin' Alive, ring finger is 4 coats of Funkadelic, middle finger is 6 coats of Can You Dig It?, index finger is 5 coats of Boogie and the thumb is 6 coats of Hustle. I also have a 1 coat of Seche Vite on each nail.

Taste The Rainbow

It is very late at night right now, 12:10am to be exact. I have been painting my nails for seriously 2 hours, clean up was a nightmare x10 due to me being a messy sponger lol. First I wanted to do a sunset look for the weekend, it turned out to resemble more of a rainbow. I cant get it to photograph as well as I'd like but thought I'd post it anyway. They are messy but fun (they look 100 times better in person, I promise)! Hopefully they last through my entire San Diego adventure!

I used a whole lotta American Apparel polish for these so I'm going to list them in order from cuticle to tip:

American Apparel Mount Royal mixed with a little American Apparel Cotton
American Apparel Dynasty
American Apparel Manila mixed with American Apparel Butter
American Apparel Poppy mixed with a tiny bit of American Apparel Cotton
American Apparel Downtown LA

All of these were sponged on which is why it looks a bit messy. I topped all my million American Apparel polishes with 2 coats of Seche Vite for extra super shine.

My Moody Nubs Invite You In!

I'm very sad, I mentioned it last post but I broke off my middle finger nail :( I was laying on my bed enjoying my relaxing afternoon when all of a sudden BAM a loud bang scared the crap out of me and I hit my hand on the wall. When I got up to investigate the noise I realized my nail was all torn off and raggedy looking...some swear words were said when I saw the carnage lol. The loud bang ended up being the little boys next door hitting my house with their basketball. Anyway, there was no way to repair the damage so I had to file down my other nails and the nubs are back in action.

On to happy things, nail polish!! I have another couple of Claire's polishes for you today! First up is the 2nd of the 3 mood polishes I bought the other day. This shade is Peaceful/Confident, the change in this one was not nearly as dramatic as the previous one and there is no shimmer in it. I was surprised that any of my pictures actually showed the color change because I sure couldn't see it in person, most of the time my nails looked like a teal-green.I think on non nubby nails the color change would have been more apparent. I had some issues with application on this one, you can see it on my middle finger nail. It dried really fast which is normally a good thing, but not in this case. Also these creamy looking mood polishes dry to a satin finish kind of like a Neon so a top coat is necessary. This is 2 coats of Claire's Peaceful/Confident Mood Nail Polish and 1 coat of Seche Vite.

**just a note that this polish along with the other Mood polish I posted will be included in the giveaway I will be doing within the next few weeks  (both will be new, unused bottles)**

Onto the 2nd Claire's Nail Polish I have for you, I bought this because it looked really cool and I've never seen a layered polish like this. This swatch was done pre-nubs lol. Unfortunately I didn't really love what the polish ended up looking like once I put it on, you might be able to see in the big version of the swatch picture that some of the layered colors were streaking through the purple. First is a picture of the bottle, this color is called Ocean Breeze.

This is 2 coats of Claire's Ocean Breeze and no top coat, since I didn't love the color I kept this on for about 5 minutes, that's why its also a little messy around the edges I did no clean up either :)

Claire's Mood Polish

So I finally picked up one of the Mood polishes from Claire's that I've seen on other blogs. This is the first one that I have tried from the 3 shades I bought, it's the Calm/Wild combo. It turns pink in heat and purple in cold...most of the time my nails looked like a french manicure, which was awesome! It also has a ton of shimmer in it which the other two I bought don't. I was going to take more/better pictures but before I could I fully broke my middle finger nail so my nails look like ugly nubs =(

This is 2 coats of polish and 1 coat of Seche Vite.
