Claw Polish!

Alright something fun and Halloween-ish for this afternoon! I spotted these a couple weeks ago on a trip to Walmart. I was walking around the Halloween section and these were hiding in the makeup aisle where all the costumes were. Gotta say, I bought them for the bottle...coffin shaped polish, how could I resist?!? Since they are only $3 a piece I justified it in my brain and picked up a few colors. There were 6 or 7 to choose from, Black, Green, Purple, Blue, Orange, Orange & Black Bar Glitter in a clear base and a sparkly Red are the ones I remember off the top of my head...I think there might have been one or maybe 2 more. Here are the bottles, like I said I am kind of in love with this packaging, it's so cute!

I bought a couple others but these are the ones that I played with first. The one on the left is called Sinister and is just a basic black...nothing spectacular. The one on the right is called VooDoo and it's a gorgeous shimmery/glittery red, it's supposed to be used as a top coat and that's what I did with it. Not sure if you could build it up to be opaque on it's own or not. I might try one of these days to find out. I really like the combo, it's very vampy. VooDoo is kind of weird, depending on the angle your looking at your nails from sometimes it looks really glittery and sometimes more of a flat shimmer, you can see the difference in my pictures mostly on the middle and ring fingers. I liked it, I thought that was kind of interesting looking!

BB Couture- Impact Driver

Good morning! Today I have another BB Couture for you, seems like this brand has been making rounds on the blogs lately and that makes so happy! I don't have too many polishes from them but the ones I do have are pretty awesome! This one, Impact Driver, comes from the polish for men line. I tried to convince my Dad that he could wear it, I mean hello it says it's for men right on the bottle, but he said no lol.

Impact Driver is kind of a dusty slate blue packed with purple and pink shimmer. Unfortunately on my the shimmer got lost in my photo, but I assure you it's there and my camera just sucks. The formula was great, no complaints here! I apologize in advance for the quality of the photo, wish mine had come out better :(

OPI- Simmer & Shimmer

Guess what I got today?!? I got my hot little hands on the new OPI Burlesque collection! I've been calling and calling my local beauty supply pretty much daily for the last 2 weeks asking when they were going to get them, this afternoon I finally got "yes we just got them" that I had been waiting for! I hauled ass over there after work and picked up all of the glitters along with The Show Must Go On and Teas-y Does It. I was so excited I didn't know why to try first so I just closed my eyes and reached in the bag to pick, Simmer & Shimmer was the lucky winner!

Simmer & Shimmer is a glitter bomb that is very reminiscent  of Mad As A Hatter from the Alice In Wonderland collection. It's packed with Blue, Silver and Fuchsia glitter mostly along with some sparse Gold and Green. The blue is the most dominant in this one, it's so pretty! The coverage was pretty good, I did 3 medium coats for full coverage. Now that I've tried this one out I can't wait to put on the others!

Borghese- Mediterraneo Sea

Decided to post this up before I hit the sack tonight. It's been a hell of a day (not in a good way) so I'm exhausted, hopefully it means I will actually fall asleep. I'm totally one of those awake all night worrying about everything kind of people and that's been the case for the past few days, I'm so tried all day...it sucks! I'm also typing this to avoid watching Lea Michelle sing on Glee lol. I really like this show but she seriously makes the worst faces sometimes, it's hard to watch! Anyway, I picked this up a few weeks ago when I saw the new display at Ulta. I somehow missed the part where it said MATTE, and didn't realize that all the new Borghese glitter polishes were all in fact matte. I didn't think I would like it, but turns out I do! In fact I liked it so much I never put a top coat on. I love Borghese polishes, even though it looks like I've never posted any hmmm. This polish applied like a dream, nice and creamy, opaque in 2 easy coats and quick drying thanks to being matte. The wear was better than a normal matte for me, maybe because of the glitter. I'm loving that the glitter in this was multicolored, it looked beautiful in person!

This is 2 coats of Borghese- Mediterraneo Sea,  you should be able to click on the picture to see the multicolored glitter a little better!

NOTD's from the past couple days!

Good Morning! I'm kinda blah today, didn't sleep well last night. I blame the heat for it. It's been like ridiculously hot here the past couple of days. Yesterday it was 106 degrees where I live, I don't think it's ever been that hot before! I'm looking forward to going back to our regular weather instead of this oven like heat!

Today I thought I would share my last couple NOTD's, I've been experimenting with some new CND Effects I bought! I really love those effects, they can totally transform a polish! First up is Models Own- Betty Blue topped with CND- Ice Blue Shimmer. It reminded me of China Glaze Frostbite but a little toned down.

This is 2 coats of Models Own- Betty Blue and 1 coat of CND- Ice Blue Shimmer effect

Second is what I was wearing yesterday, Mac- Blue India topped with CND- Violet Shimmer Effect. It kind of reminded me of a dusty blue version of Chanel Paradoxal. The purple shimmer was a lot more visible than Paradoxal is but other than that, same kinda thing going on with the polish.

Some Misa Spam!

More picture spam!  Can we tell that I am trying to get through a lot of untrieds here lol. I got this bunch of Misa polish in my last Transdesign order. I know I said it when I posted a Misa polish the other day but I have to say it again, they make great polish. There is not one thing I can think of to complain about with any of these. The formula was spot on for each polish! I'm sure the majority of these you have seen before, the only one that might be new to you is the Fuchsia foil-y one called Glitz, Glamour and Smile For The Camera which comes from their Winter collection for this year. My favorite of these is of course Dirty, Sexy, Money. I have been waiting that polish for what feels like forever and to finally get it and have be just as awesome as I was imagining is great! Big thanks to Transdesign for finally re-stocking their Misa inventory, my wallet is very sad but my nails are very happy!!

Some Models Own spam

Hey guys, a while back I took advantage of the 50% off sale Models Own had, I got 8 polishes in total. I had a swatch fest this weekend and here are pictures of all but Betty Blue! The formula was good on all of them except for Green Grass, it was really thin and I had massive VNL with it. I'm pretty sure these are not big 3 free, they sure didn't smell like it anyway. Not going to go into too much detail about the colors, I think the pictures do the talking. My favorites of the bunch are Misty Grey, Slate Green and Top Turquoise. I could do without Peacock Green and Grass Green. Sorry for the weird hand placement in these, I can never find a comfy way to hold these round bottles so my fingers look a little weird in some of these.

Wet & Wild- Hypnotic Red

So I had this on my nails the other day and have repainted them for Dexter. Blood red seems like a very Dexter kinda color haha. I got this polish from Jess over at Polish Insomniac in a contest I won! I'm not usually a red kinda girl, I don't have too much of it in my stash but man...I am loving this one! It's gorgeous!

BB Couture- Manbug

Good morning! Do we know what today is, other than Sunday of course?!? No? It's Dexter day!! WOOHOO, the new season starts tonight and I am so freaking excited. Dexter has been one of my favorite shows since the very first season it was on. I'm especially looking forward to this season after the way the last one ended, not going to ruin it for anyone but it took me like 5 minutes to pick my jaw up off the floor after last seasons finale. I'm also looking forward to watching the epic "Sharktopus" that I DVR-ed last night, i'm sure it will be full of bad acting and horrible special effects, my favorite!

Onto prettier things, today I have for you BB Couture- Manbug. I got this in a swap over on MUA and I love it! Manbug is  beautiful, a light greenish blue with silver microglitter, or maybe glass flecks I dunno...but who cares it's pretty lol. This polish was pretty sheer, I have on 3 coats in the photos but once I looked at the pictures in macro I realized 4 coats probably would have been better. I usually don't like a polish that requires that much effort, but I really love the color and finish of this one so it get a pass on that.

Misa- Date Night To The Twilight

Hey guys, this is a polish from Misa's Winter/Holiday offering for this year. Date Night To The Twilight is a shimmery purple. I really like it, I'm a sucker for purple though so it's not really surprising haha. This is the only non-redish or pinkish polish in the whole collection, which makes me kinda sad. Don't we have enough versions of pink and red already?!? Anyway, I really liked the formula on this one, Misa seriously makes great polish. All the ones I have tried have flowed really nicely. I opted to use 2 coats for my swatch but I probably could have gotten away with 1 careful coat!

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear- Mystic Lilac

Hey everyone, happy Saturday! I was going to sleep in today but that did not happen. Instead I was woken up by the next door neighbors ringing the doorbell at 8am because a sprinkler in the front yard was broken and gushing huge amounts of water flooding the yard and street! Amazingly I figured out how to turn the sprinklers off...but now I can't fall back asleep :(

Today I have Mystic Lilac from Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear Fall colors, this was not easy to find. Once I saw it being talked about on MUA I searched and searched looking for the display only to finally find 1 at an Ulta that was totally ransacked and all the good colors were gone. A week or so later I came across a full display at a random Rite Aid! I picked up this one and Purple Gala. Alright so, Mystic Lilac is a color I don't have anything like. It's a grayed out light purple with a gorgeous green/blue shimmer. The formula on mine was a little thinner than I'm used to with this brand, it's kind of funny that mine was like that because I've heard the opposite problem with other bloggers bottles.

pa- A24

yay an afternoon post! A couple nights ago I was waiting for a pizza to be done and wandered over to an Asian grocery store that is in the same shopping center. I wasn't really looking for anything, mostly just trying to wander and kill time. And guess what I found...PA polish, I didn't even know that we could find this in the states. It never occurred to me that specialty stores like that might carry specialty cosmetics available in the region that their target clientele is from. I about died when I found the huge display, they had every color in the rainbow including a ton with awesome holo and hex glitter. I ended up leaving with 5 new pretties, the one I have for you in this post is the only one I got that isn't chocked full of glitter. Those swatches are coming soon...

I'm not sure if these just have numbers as names or what, but the bottle says A24 on it so I guess that's it's name? Anyway, this is a really rich medium/dark purple with a gold shimmer that shows best on my middle finger in the picture by the way I had my hand angled. I have a lot of shimmery purples in my stash but nothing quite like this! The formula was pretty great on this, nothing to complain about. Not sure if these are big 3 free or not, I can tell you that it did not smell awful, so that's good!

If you're looking for these I would definitely recommend stopping by an Asian or Korean grocery store, they might just have them! The price was a little steep, $5.98, the bottle is small but it's full of awesome so I'm okay with that lol.

This is 2 coats of pa- A24 and 1 coat of China Glaze Fast Forward

OPI DS Original

Happy Friday!! 6 hours  35 minutes until freedom! I am so tired today, Muse last night was AWESOME. They seriously put on the most amazing shows, they sound great and the stage set up was just whoa. I can't even describe how awesome it was last night! Even if you don't like Muse you would probably love their live show lol

Onto polish! This is OPI DS Original, it was on my lemming list for many many moons. I actually didn't think you could get it anymore but then I saw it on transdesign to buy so I did! It's pretty much awesome, Original is a light lavender that leans towards pink on the nail and it is filled with holo goodness! It's gorgeous! OPI needs to make more of these! The weirdest thing happened with this polish though, I had major shrinkage with it, you can see it most on my index and ring finger. But I don't know how it happened since I didn't use a top coat! I wanted to see how this would love over black too so that's what you're seeing on the middle finger. I think I actually like it better that way!

LA Splash- Golden Seahorse

Hey guys, it's almost Friday...yay! Tonight I'm going to see  MUSE ahh I'm so excited! I love them and they are seriously one of the best live bands I've ever seen. It doesn't hurt that I also have amazing seats! Usually in the past when I have seen them I've been really far from the stage and they look like little ants up there but for some reason the ticketmaster gods smiled on me when I bought my ticket for this show because I got 3rd row!!

Today I have for you LA Splash- Golden Seahorse. I always saw people talking about this polish over at MUA so I made a point to look for it when I made a trip to Ulta a while back. I'm not really sure how I feel about it to be honest, it's pretty but I don't think it meshes with my skin tone very well :(. I'll probably still wear it though! Golden Seahorse is a light blue/green base packed with gold glitter. I do love that the glitter stands out so well and doesn't get lost at all in the base color! The formula was a bit thick on this one, but not unmanageable. I bought a couple others from this brand while I was there, they were having a Buy 2 Get 1 Free (or 50% off, I can't remember).

This is 2 coats of LA Spash- Golden Seahorse and 2 coats of Seche Vite

Finger Paints I'm A Survivor & I Pink I Can

Hey guys, very excited to be sharing these with you today. These 2 nail polishes are Finger Paints Breast Cancer Awareness Month contribution. Though my life hasn't directly been affected by Breast Cancer it is one of the causes I always go out of my way to support. Finger Paints is donating $65,000 to the Cancer Support Community and I think that is pretty fantastic! I really love both of these polishes, the formula was fantastic!

First up is I Pink I Can, a cotton candy pink with a hidden shimmer. This applied like a dream, sometimes a light pink polish is a nightmare to apply but the formula was spot on and perfect in 2 easy coats. I am very impressed! I really love the subtle shimmer when you step out into the sun, it adds a little something special!

This is 2 coats of Finger Paints- I Pink I Can and 1 coat of China Glaze Fast Forward

I'm a Survivor is a bright pink also with a bit of secret shimmer. I love this one, the color is beautiful and it has such an empowering name! The formula was also top notch on this one, though it was a little thinner than I Pink I Can. The shimmer in this popped more on this one and you didn't have to be in the sun to notice it.

This is 2 coats of Finger Paints- I'm A Survivor and 1 coat of China Glaze Fast Forward

Overall I really loved both of these polishes. Not only are they beautiful and easy to work with they are also for a great cause. These retail for $4.99 each and will be available to purchase starting October 1st on www.sallybauty.com or at any of their retail locations.

Barielle Style In Argyle Fall Collection Swatches & Review!

Today I have for you Barielle's Fall 2010 collection called Style in Argyle! I love this collection, I'm that girl that is always searching for the perfect brown polish and Barielle gave me a whole bunch of options with this collection! As a whole, I really love this collection but if you aren't into brown it might not be for you. The formula on these was absolutely fantastic. A few of the Barielle polishes I've tried in the past have been on the thicker side but these were not like that at all! Gotta say I love the names of the polishes too, they make me want to snuggle up in a big soft sweater, if we had a Fall season here in California these would definitely remind me of it! Unfortunately our seasons in Orange County,  CA consist of Hot, Not as Hot, Warm and the occasional "freezing" day where the temp is in the 50's haha

First up is Cashmere of Loose Me, the lone shimmer in this collection. It's a really soft creamy looking brown with a secret copper shimmer. When the bottle hit the light right this one was a stunner, unfortunately the shimmer was pretty much unnoticeable unless you were in direct sunlight and the sun was hitting the nail. I do love the color though, regardless of secret shimmer! Wish any of my pictures would have showed how great it was in the sun, but I couldn't capture it, even in my light box :(

This is 2 coats of Barielle- Cashmere Or Loose Me and 1 coat of China Glaze Fast Forward
Next up, Cowl Of The Wild, this one is my favorite of the whole collection! Barielle describes this as a mushroom taupe color and I think that is pretty accurate. I wore this for about 2 1/2 days, which for me is rare! I didn't have any issues with chipping or anything, it wore like iron!

This is 2 coats of Barielle- Cowl Of The Wild and 1 coat of China Glaze Fast Forward
Auro Angora is a gorgeous mustard color, I looooove it! It didn't really flatter my skin tone, but I'll wear it anyway! This polish was the one that intrigued me the most when I saw the press release for this collection. It did not disappoint! Sometimes yellow can be a pain to apply but this one was like butter! No issues whatsoever with streaking or patchiness. I actually only needed ONE COAT! What?!? One coat of yellow? yeah...amazing!

This is 1 coat of Barielle- Aura Angora and 1 coat of China Glaze Fast Forward

Tight Knit is described as a purple brown,  I've seen other swatches of it and on other people it looked a lot more purple. For some reason my skin is pulling out more of a reddish purple tone, which I like but I'm kinda sad it's not more purple. Such is life I guess!

This is 2 coats of Barielle- Tight Knit and 1 coat of China Glaze Fast Forward

Wool You Marry Me? Is the described as a plum brown, it leans more reddish for me though. Gotta say, this is another winner for me. I love this color. The formula on this one was my favorite of the whole collection, the polish pretty much just applied itself!

This is 2 coats of Barielle- Wool You Marry Me? and 1 coat of China Glaze Fast Forward

Last but not least is Unraveled Rush, a dark chocolate brown! This polish makes me want candy, it kinda looks like I'm wearing a Hershey bar on my nails...who doesn't love that?!? I foresee myself wearing this one a bunch of times later this year!

This is 2 coats of Barielle- Unraveled Rust and 1 coat of China Glaze Fast Forward

So what do you guys think, do you like the collection? I think Barielle hit it out of the ball park, this collection screams Fall to me. All of the polishes were so nice to apply and that kind of consistency in an entire collection is pretty rare!

Barielle polishes are available on their website http://www.barielle.com/ or they can now be purchased at Ulta! These retail for $8!

Liquid Euphoria- Nirvana

Gooooood Morning, back to the grind ugh. I'm extra tried today, I got home so late last night...but the concert was fun! Today I have the mani I wore for it last night, Liquid Euphoria- Nirvana layered over black. I don't even have words to describe how fantastical this polish is...I'll let the ton of pictures in this post do the talking!

This is 1 coat of OPI- Black Onyx and 2 coats of Liquid Euphoria- Nirvana topped with 1 coat of China Glaze Fast Forward
