NYC Lemon Cream

Good Morning! In case you don't follow my blog sale blog I added a few more polishes this morning, check it out here! I also lowered the price on some of the older stuff...I just want to get rid of it! I really hope Zoya does their polish exchange again this year, I have so much stuff that is just sitting around that I want/need to get rid of like minis and franken fails!

Today I have for you guys NYC Lemon Cream. This was in a new Spring looking display at Rite Aid! I picked up Lemon Cream and a minty green color, there were a few others I liked but I need to see how the formula on the green is before I buy any more! Looks like NYC has changed their bottle up with this new collection, honestly I'm not a fan of it now. I don't like round bottles like this one very much (I'm weird, I know). Lemon Cream looked like a pastel yellow in the bottle but it turned out to be somewhat bright and sunny! I love the color, I really love yellow polish even though I don't wear it too often! The formula here was just okay, yellow can be hard to work with so I am taking that into consideration. I needed 4 coats to even Lemon Cream out. It's gorgeous so I'm willing to do that extra work sometimes!

Sephora by OPI Slushied vs. FingerPaints Carnation Creation

Good Morning!  Happy Wednesday! I kinda can't believe it's only Wednesday, this seems like such a looooong week. Maybe because it's been a crappy one for me so far it just drags to torture me a little more. That's actually the reason I didn't post yesterday...I tried but my crabbyness was coming through more than I like it to lol

Today I have for you guys another comparison, this one was requested via email! Sephora by OPI Slushied vs. FingerPaints Carnation Creation! In the bottles when I had these on my desk they looked pretty similar but once I got them on they were different enough to justify owning both, in my opinion! Slushied is more of a bright true blue where Carnation Creation is more dusty and teal. They both have great formula, I still need to pick up a full sized bottle of Slushied! I used 2 coats of each polish for the picture below!

Deborah Lippman Happy Birthday vs. Ulta Pinata-Yada-Yada

Good Morning! Happy Monday!

A while back in one of Ulta's mailers there was a picture of a new Salon Formula polish they had that immediately looked like it might be dupey to Deborah Lippmann's Happy Birthday polish. Ever since I saw that mailer I've been waiting for my Ulta to start stocking the polish. They finally did so I grabbed a bottle the other day! In the bottle they look similar but very different color wise. The Ulta polish, which is called Pinanta- Yada-Yada looked to be a bit brighter than Happy Birthday. On the nail they are much more similar looking! The formula was also very similar, I guess how much can that really differ though when we are talking about glitter in a clear base lol.

The main difference here is that Happy Birthday has small square glitter and Pinata-Yada-Yada has small hex glitter. Other than that no huge differences. If you have an Ulta near you this is a great alternative and it's much cheaper. Right now Ulta has a sale on their Salon Formula polishes going on, 2 for $4! Not sure when that ends but if you pick this up during the sale it's really a great deal!

Below is 2 coats of Ulta Pinata-Yada-Yada and 2 coats of Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday over Nubar White Peony.

China Glaze Vampy

Good Morning! Hope everyone has had a good weekend so far! I have!

Also, I added a bunch of polish to my blogsale if you haven't checked it out already! You can see them by clicking here!

Today I have for you guys an oldie but a goodie, I picked this up a long time ago and have never worn it. China Glaze Vampy is a deep red with gold shimmer. It's so pretty! I can't believe I let this sit untried. I loved that I could see the gold shimmer through the dark base and even in the sun. Sometimes with vampy colors like this the shimmer gets lost, but not in this polish! I don't *think* this is available on any of the etailers anymore, I just randomly found a bottle while I was shopping about a year ago. Your best bet is probably ebay if you want to pick this up!

Below is 2 coats of China Glaze Vampy

Nubar Spring Garden Collection Swatches!

Good Morning, TGIF. This has felt like the longest week ever! At least I only have 6 more hours until freedom from work for the weekend!

Today I have for you guys swatches from the Nubar Spring Garden Collection! I think I'm going to go out on a limb and say this is my favorite Spring Collection as a whole this year! I'm in love with all the super pale shades and the formula on each polish was great! I've been drooling over this collection for a few weeks. I went to my local place a while back and the owner was showing bottle pictures. Ever since I have been calling weekly to see if they got them! I was so excited that they finally did so I ran down there and bought the whole collection the other day!

First up is Yellow Primrose and really pale yellow. Love this, the color, the formula, everything was great here. I used 3 coats for full opacity. I would call this a careful 2 coater though, I only used 3 coats to even out a couple patchy spots.

Next up is White Peony, it's a nice creamy white. It seems like it has a little bit of an ivory undertone in it so it's not just stark white...I could actually wear this out and not feel like I painted my nails with white out. I used 2 coats for the photo below.

Earthen is a murky taupey grey with a very subtle shimmer. Again, I love this one. I didn't realize these had shimmer in this but a few do. It makes them a little more special and different! The formula was great, super easy to work with! I used 2 coats of Earthen for the photo below.

Baby Sprout is the palest pale green you can probably ever find. I didn't know I could gt anything more pale than China Glaze Groovy Green but here it is. 99% of the time my camera was seeing white with this one. It's still a tad bit more green in person than in my photo. This was by far my favorite polish in the collection. I wore it for 2 days and got tons of compliments. It's also wore really well! I usually get tip wear pretty quickly since I'm typing on a computer at work all day but my mani with Baby Sprout looked brand new 2 days later! I used 2 coats of Baby Sprout for the photo below.

Pink Lily is a soft baby pink, it also had a very subtle shimmer running through it. The shimmer isn't very noticeable but it give it a little something else. I like it! I needed 3 coats for this polish, it was a bit streaky after the 2nd coat but the 3rd coat evened it out!

Purple Aster is a pale lilac with a very subtle shimmer. I think I probably have polishes close to this but none with that shimmer! The formula was again, great! I used 2 coats of Purple Aster for the photo below!

Blue Hydrangea is a pale blue with that same hidden shimmer! It's a little more noticeable in person than in some of the other polishes. My camera couldn't seem to pick it up very well. This polish is one of my favorite kinds of somehow makes me look tan! The formula was great, I used 2 coats for the photo below.

Honeysuckle is a gorgeous pink! This one is the most typically "spring" color in my opinion. I was expecting it to be a little more muted from the other photos I've seen of it but it was really bright on me. Not neon or even close to it but not as "dusty" as I was expecting. The formula was fantastic, it practically applied itself! I used 2 coats of Honeysuckle for the photo below.

Last up is Dewdrop a soft multicolored glitter top coat.I'm loving that even the glitter top coat is pale! It looks gorgeous over all the colors in the collection, each polish seems to bring out a different tone in Dewdrop. My favorite combo was Dewdrop over Honeysuckle, it brought out a gorgeous blue tone in the glitter. Unfortunately though my camera was refusing to take a good picture of that :( So instead of that combo I have my next favorite one to show you. Dewdrop over White Peony. Where do I start about how much I love this combo, it's brings out all the Easter looking colors in Dewdrop. It kind of reminds me of that plastic grass that would be in my Easter basket when I was a kid. It also reminded me of a snow globe. I can't wait to layer Dewdrop over a ton of colors, it's so pretty!

OPI Fall 2011- Touring America Preview

Coast to Coast Classics

OPI Launches Touring America
Collection for Fall/Winter 2011

OPI hits the open road with a new take on classic style in the Touring America Collection for Fall/Winter 2011. Inspired by Americana and cities with rich cultural heritage, the collection’s twelve shades offer comfortable glamour and wearable elegance for nails and toes.
“My recent road trip across the country sparked the creation of the Touring America Collection,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director.  “Autumn is a time for reinvention, and these shades revive classic, iconic colors for fall, from cool heather, khaki and chocolate to warm rose, peach and red.”
The season’s go-to shades of taupe and pearl grey appear in variations from dark to light – A-taupe the Space Needle, Get in the Expresso Lane, French Quarter for Your Thoughts, and Suzi Takes the Wheel.  Lush urban neutrals in deep sapphire (Road House Blues), rich raisin (Honk If You Love OPI), chic olive (Uh-oh Roll Down the Window), and coffee brown (I Brake for Manicures) merge with iconic red (Color to Diner For), vivid rose (My Address is “Hollywood”), and luminous coral and orange (I Eat Mainely Lobster, Are We There Yet?) for an expansive color landscape.

“This collection will take women around the world on the ultimate tour across the USA, with stops in Baltimore, Clarksdale, Hollywood, Jackson Hole, Memphis, Milwaukee, New Orleans, New York City, Philadelphia, Seattle, St. Louis, and Tucson,” explains Suzi. “Together, the locales that inspired Touring America make up a rich palette of color complementing trends from the runway, where we saw a mix of feminine details and dramatic menswear touches.”
Touring America includes the following shades:

Are We There Yet?
Don’t make me reach back there and take that perfect melon shade!

I Eat Mainely Lobster
We “clawed” through crowds to catch this coral for you.

My Address is "Hollywood"
We put this pretty rose-pink on the map.

Color to Diner For
I’ll take the rosy-red with a side of “awesome.”

Honk if You Love OPI
Don’t let this gorgeous dark grape pass you by.

Road House Blues
In this case…R&B stands for “Really Blue.”

Suzi Takes the Wheel
Buckle up—she’s not stopping until she gets to gray!

French Quarter for Your Thoughts
Want beads? Then show us your sexy gray nails!

Uh-oh Roll Down the Window
You’re gonna wanna pull over for this “unexpected” olive green.

A-taupe the Space Needle
You’ll climb to new heights with this creamy-rich taupe.

Get in the Expresso Lane
An amped-up dark brown that’ll never letcha down!

I Brake for Manicures
This gorgeous eggplant-plum has our full attention.

What do you guys think of these? Seems SO early to be thinking about Fall Collections but I'm loving the names and colors of these!

Nfu oh 60

Hi guys! Today I have for you Nfu Oh 60! My first of the Nfu Oh flakies! I've been wanting this forever and one of my super blog friends sent it to me a couple of weeks ago, yay!

Nfu Oh 60 looks like if black jelly and Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure had a baby. It's a black jelly base with flakes that flashed mostly orange and green on me. Most of the time while I had this on (at work) it looked sorta similar to China Glaze Fortune Teller...weird, I know! It was pretty sheer, but only took 3 coats to build up! I need more of these Nfu Oh flakies!

OPI Serena Williams Grand Slam France Preview

White and Red Shatter Debut for French Open!

Serena Williams Serves Up Four New Shades for OPI Glam Slam! Collection

OPI captures Serena Williams’ winning spirit with four additions to the Glam Slam! collection, including two new shades of the fashionable, must-have ShatterRed and White.  Launching in conjunction with the French Open, Glam Slam! France celebrates with two duo-packs for four unbeatable looks.
The first Lacquer set includes Spark de Triomphe (a monumentally marvelous silver glitter), paired with White Shatter. Once applied over completely dried Nail Lacquer, Shatter begins to crackle, leaving behind a two-texture pattern on each nail. The second Lacquer set features Rally Pretty Pink (rise to the occasion with this shimmering sunset-pink), paired with Red Shatter.
“We are very excited to continue working with tennis superstar Serena Williams to launch the next Glam Slam! shades,” said Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “France is a country with a rich history in fashion and setting trends. These four new color options are ideal for showcasing your own personal style, à la Serena, whether worn alone or overlaid with Shatter for instant nail art.”
“Whether I’m on or off the court, style is important,” explains Serena Williams. “In addition to watching the runways for the latest trends, I think it’s important to add my own unique elements. With the new White and Red Shatter, I can customize my nails for a high-fashion take on the classically elegant silver and sunset shades in the Glam Slam! France collection.”
Serena Williams has received the World Number One in singles ranking by the Women’s Tennis Association on five separate occasions, along with being listed as sixth on the all-time greatest champions list.  Additionally, she has won two Olympic gold medals in women’s doubles and has earned 27 Grand Slam titles to date. Serena is the most recent player to have held all four Grand Slam singles titles simultaneously and only the fifth woman in history to do so.
New shades in the Glam Slam! collection will be introduced to coincide with each of the four major tournaments, beginning with the Australian Open in January 2011, followed by launches in May 2011 for the French Open, June 2011 for Wimbledon and August 2011 for the US Open. As with all OPI Nail Lacquers, the Glam Slam! collection contains no DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde, and each includes OPI’s exclusive ProWide Brush for the ultimate in application.
Glam Slam! France will be available beginning May 2011 at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for $14.95 ($20.95 CAN) suggested retail for each duo-pack.
For more information, please call 800-341-9999 or visit Follow OPI on Twitter @OPI_PRODUCTS and become a Facebook fan!

Who is excited for these? ME!! Rally Pretty Pink looks in-freakin-credible in that bottle picture. NEED!

Franken: My Fabulous Fighter Jet

Good Morning! Anyone watch Dancing With The Stars last night? I did! I used to hate that show but I kinda like it now, it's such a trainwreck at the beginning I can't help myself!

Alright, so today I have a franken for you guys...woohoo! I've been trying to master this franken for a long freakin time and I finally am happy with my results! I've been going for something close to the original version of OPI My Private Jet. I think I got pretty close! I'm calling this My Fabulous Fighter Jet haha. It's a lot more holo IRL, my camera fails at capturing holo in all it's glittery rainbow goodness!

Here is the recipe I used:

1/2 black nail polish (I didn't use any specific brand, just some random stuff I had lying around)
1/4 clear polish
1/4 OPI DS original (or any strong linear holo)

OPI Austin-tatious Turquoise vs. Sephora by OPI Who Let The Dorks Out?

Good Morning guys! I was going to be posting the Zoya PR releases for summer but I'm guessing you have already seen them about a bazillion times so I'll spare you from seeing it again, I know it gets annoying!

Instead of Zoya stuff I have a comparison for you today! Sephora by OPI Who Let The Dorks Out? vs. OPI Austin-tatious Turquoise. These looked pretty much identical in the bottle. They look pretty much the same on the nail too! Austin-tatious Turquoise is maybe just a tad bit of a darker tone of blue but really, you can't tell in my photos or really even in person. The only difference here was opacity...Who Let The Dorks Out? was a bit more opaque, I only needed 3 coats of it versus needing 4 coats of Austin-tatious Turquoise! Overall, the OPI is cheaper...if you like this I'd buy that one. I'll happily do an extra coat of polish if it saves me $1 on the bottle of polish.

Both of these photos are shade photos, the sun was being elusive yesterday!

Essie French Affair

Good Morning guys! It's absolutely  pouring down rain here right now, ugh. I love the rain but not when I have stuff to do! So I guess instead of running errands today I'll stay home and watch movies!

Today I have for you guys another polish from Essie's French Affair for Spring. This is the namesake of the collection, French Affair. It's a very light baby pink. This is not a color I would normally buy but I'm starting have a thing for pink and every other pale color I can find. It's weird how my taste in polish is changing a little bit! The formula was pretty great, I was surprised that this was streaky and sheer. The formula was a bit thick but easy to work with, I only needed 2 coats for full opacity!

China Glaze Virtual Violet

Good Morning! I'm getting such a late start this morning, I woke up at like 9:30, which is pretty late for me! Luckily it doesn't matter too much since my only plans are taking Degen to the park lol

Today I have for you guys China Glaze Virtual Violet, a purple with scattered holo glitter. This comes from the Tronica collection that is exclusive to Sally Beauty. This seems to be the most holo out of any that I picked up. I'm pretty disappointed by this collection to be honest. I feel like China Glaze was all yay holo then I actually got them and I need a microscope to actually see this holo they speak of. That said, it is very pretty....I probably wouldn't have been disappointed if this collection hadn't been so hyped as being holo. The formula was great on this, so was the wear. I had this on last week for about 3 days and didn't have any chipping and hardly any tip wear!

Below is 2 coats of Virtual Violet!

Lex Cosmetics Toast

Good Morning! Happy Friday! I was going to make a Rebecca Black joke but it was just too easy so I wont!

This morning I have for you guys the last of the 3 Lex Cosmetics polishes I received called Toast. Toast is a sheer nude polish, kind of a pinkish beige. I really like the color of this one, I have a serious love for nude colors...I don't know why I do but I have a ton of them! Here is the color story behind the color from the Lex Cosmetics website, $1 of each bottle of Toast goes to Habitat for Humanity!:

"I chose the name because it reminds me of what you're wearing when hanging in on a weekend with your boyfriend, watching movies and making breakfast in bed... hence 'Toast'!
I like it too because its casually elegant - perfect for everything from a job interview to a first date and it's great to compliment bright spring colors because it's neutral."

I found that Toast was a bit sheer, I don't really care for sheer polishes...but I really liked the way this looked after 3 coats, I decided to add another just to see if it would build up a little more (it did!). At 4 coats Toast was mostly opaque and looked kinda squishy if ya know what I mean. It reminds me of one of my favorite nude colors Ulta Sheer Beige, even though this is more sheer than the Ulta polish I enjoyed the formula on Toast more, it was easier to apply!

*the polish is in this post was sent to me for review*

Nicole by OPI One Less Lonely Girl pt. 2 Swatches!

Good Morning, Happy St. Patrick's Day!! Today I have for you guys swatches of the second half of the One Less Lonely Girl collection from Nicole By OPI. I am absolutely loving these colors, I saw on another blog that there is a rumored 3rd set of polishes from this collection coming out soon so I look forward to see those too! Don't forget this set is one of the prizes in my 1 year Blogiversary giveaway! If you haven't entered yet you can by clicking on the picture at the top of my right sidebar!

First up is "Baby" Blue, a light blue. It's a bit too bright to be called a pastel but it's not in your face if you know what I mean. I love it, it's easily my personal favorite from this half of the collection, I'm actually wearing it on my toes right now! The formula was great, all of them from this collection were!

I used 2 coats of "Baby" Blue for the photo below.

Next up is Make U Smile, a silver glitter top coat. It's packed with small round silver glitter and larger silver hex glitter. I really liked this, the glitter was easy to get onto the nail and I didn't find myself having to place it where I wanted it!

Below is 1 coat of Make U Smile over "Baby" Blue

I've Got Bieber Fever is a dark purple with a bit of a pink & purple hidden shimmer to it. I have to say, I am not happy with my picture of this polish. I was uploading my pictures and my bottle promptly committed nail polish suicide by falling off my desk and breaking :( so i couldn't re-take the picture...bummer! RIP I've Got Bieber Fever.

Below is 2 coats of I've Got Bieber Fever

Not A Gold Bigger is a gold foil. Have to say, personally I don't care for this one. I'm not much of a gold girl or a foil girl. The formula was good and I love the coverage I get with foils they just tend to maximize every imperfection I have on my nail lol.

Below is 2 coats of Not A Gold Bigger

Next up is One Time Lime, a really bright lime green! I love it! The formula was fantastic on this one, not streaky or hard to work with! Be careful when removing this, I wasn't and you can see my green stained fingers in the next 2 pictures because of it lol

Below is 2 coats of One Time Lime

Next up is I'm A Belieber a rich purple creme. Gahhh I love this one so much, it's a perfect purple. Not totally unique but it's one of those ones I would buy no matter how many dupes I might have of it!  I think I'm going to need to think of a new name for this one though, I would die of embarrassment if I wore this out and someone asked me what it was and I had to respond with "It's I'm a Belieber"  lol. Please excuse the green fingers in the picture for this one *side eye to One Time Lime*

Below is 2 coats of I'm A Belieber

Red-y To Runaway Love? is a bright red creme. I'm not a big red polish kinda girl but I really like this one. I've worn it again since swatching it! Great formula on this one, just like all the others from this collection!

Below is 2 coats of Red-y To Runaway Love?

Last up is My Lifesaver, a soft blue leaning mint green. I had major issues photographing this one. If you follow me on twitter you may have seen me ranting about it earlier this week lol. This is as close as any of my cameras can seem to get to what it looks like in real life. I don't know why it was being such a pain, usually minty colors don't give my camera issues! I liked the formula on this one, but I found that I had to have a very soft touch with the brush when applying it or else it would get weird streaks...not a huge issue just thought I'd mention it!

Below is 2 coats of My Lifesaver

Will you guys be picking any of these up? I think I will probably be going out to buy a new replacement bottle for myself of I've Got Bieber Fever!

These polishes are available at most retailers that sell Nicole by OPI including Target, Ulta, and Walmart and retails for around $8 a bottle depending on where you buy.
