Hi guys! Today for you guys I have a new to me brand called Lex Cosmetics! Now that I am familiar with them I am in love! There are so many things I am loving about this brand, everything from how it was "born" to the bottles, colors, beliefs etc...
Lex Cosmetics came about when the owner, Lex, was searching for the perfect Seafoam Green polish and decided she would have to make it herself. I know we all have that problem. I spend countless night in my room being all Dr. Frankenstein-ish mixing polishes together to get what I want! Now what I think is really really cool about Lex Cosmetics is that all the ideas for polish colors come from us! RBL just did something similar to this, but over at Lex Cosmetics it's a permanent thing...ALL of their shades are made from ideas submitted by us! Not only are we creating or own colors but each month we get to vote for a winning color! You can vote for the current months picks by clicking here, I voted for Blue Sting!
Another thing I really love about Lex Cosmetics is that $1 from each bottle of polish sold goes to charity. When you are shopping on the Lex Cosmetics website there is a whole story about the inspiration behind the color in addition to telling you what charity the money is going to. If you want more information on the charities they are donating to there is a great page on their website that gives more information and links to each organization, you can find that here. A few of the charities Lex Cosmetics donates to I also donate to on my own like the ASPCA and Habitat for Humanity.
On to polish! First up, how stinkin' cute are these bottles?!? I LOVE them. I am a sucker for a cute bottle, the handles are to die for! Simple but elegant!
The first of the 3 polishes I received is Sassy Pants. I bet you can guess which it is by looking at the bottle picture above! Sassy Pants is a bright pink, it's nowhere near neon but it will get you noticed! Here is the little color story behind it from the Lex Cosmetics website: "Sassy Pants is the color to get a girl up and moving. I hope it inspires women to let their sassy selves out."
$1 from each bottle of Sassy Pants sold goes to a great organization called Girls On The Run. I hadn't heard of Girls On The Run prior to this and now that I've read over their website I think they are doing great things. I like that by buying something we all buy anyway we are donating to a great cause! I wish something like Girls On The Run had been around when I was younger!
The formula on Sassy Pants was fantastic, it wasn't to thick or thin and applied like a dream. I used 2 coats for the picture below!
You can purchase Lex Cosmetics polish on their official website http://lexcosmetics.com/. Each polish retails for $10! I'm planning on picking up a few more of them. I am really intrigued by Himalaya, Abbey Street and Haggard (I totally lol at the name of that one)
