Today I have for you the 2 new sets from the Serena Williams Grand Slam! Collection. These two new duo packs are launching in conjunction with the French Open which happens in May. They include 2 great new polishes along with 2 new shatters, Red and White!
Red Shatter is the companion to Rally Pretty Pink, I have to admit when I saw these in the little box together I didn't think they would pair very well together but I was wrong! Red Shatter over Rally Pretty Pink is fab! That golden shimmer in Rally Pretty Pink was so sparkletastic that you could see it through the shatter, it looks great! You can see it a little bit in my picture, it's much more visible in real life. I'm looking forward to using Red Shatter over a ton of colors. I really love it, it was easy to use and cracked wonderfully. It dries matte, like most crackle/shatter polishes. I used a top coat for the photos below.
The second set be released in May consists of Spark De Triomphe and White Shatter. Spark De Triomphe is a mix of silver and gold glitter, there is a good mix of small round glitter and small hex glitter. This was like blindingly sparkly in the sun, I was surprised any of my pictures actually came out not blurry! This seemed thick in the bottle but once I gave it a good roll between my palms it was easy to work with and not thick at all. This is a full coverage glitter, but I bet it will be a great layering polish also! I used 3 coats for full coverage, it did look good at 2 coats also but I could see a bit of VNL. Below is 3 coats of Spark De Triomphe.
White Shatter comes in 2nd set along with Spark De Triomphe. I found that this one did not shatter as well as Black Shatter and Red Shatter did on my first try. I will need to play with this one a bit and am already thinking of combinations I will try! Even though i'm not completely happy with the shatter effect the first time I did find that it was easier than China Glaze Crackle to work with. I get a lot of questions about which of the crack/shatter collections I prefer and now that I have tried more than just Black Shatter I think it's safe to say that I prefer the OPI formula! Below is White Shatter over Spark De Triomphe
First up is the set that contains Rally Pretty Pink and Red Shatter. Rally Pretty Pink I have pretty much been dying to see in real life since the promo photos. Guess what....it's even better in person! If you liked the polishes from Zoya's Sunshine Collection you will LOVE this polish. Rally Pretty Pink is a purple toned pink with golden shimmer like whoa! The golden shimmer gives this a bit of a duochrome look, which you guys know I love! The gold shimmer is amazing in the sun, I see myself getting a lot of wear out of this during this summer! The formula was great, a little sheer after the first coat and great after the second coat, if I was wearing this on it's own I would probably do 3 coats but it's not necessary if you are putting shatter over it. Rally Pretty Pink dries to an almost foil like finish, which I'm not usually a huge fan of but I really enjoy it with this polish, I guess given the color I will like any finish except maybe super frosty but ya never know! I used 2 coats of Rally Pretty Pink for the photos below.
Shade....look at that gold! gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteHot damn! I'm gonna have to get Rally Pretty Pink! Me getting a pink, revolutionary!
ReplyDeleteI definitely need that second set! and I'm glad you enjoyed the movie, lol.
ReplyDeleteI placed my Zoya order last night for 12 polishes :X
Great swatches, can't wait to buy them!
ReplyDeleteI want Red Shatter! <3
ReplyDeletePersonally I'm holding out for silver shatter! Can't wait to get my hands on that! I am loving the look of Spark de Triomphe though.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't going to get the Serena polishes (other than the Shatter, of course) but I really like Rally Pretty Pink! Can any of those compare to the Zoya Summertime collections? Hmm. MAC Bad Fairy?
ReplyDelete@Beej
ReplyDeleteI don't have the Zoya's yet to compare to, but if I ever get them I will because I think there might be a dupe in there. It's not anything like Bad Fairy, unfortunately :(
I was looking forward to Rally Pretty Pink too and it looks gorgeous. But I´m wearing Zoya Faye right now and looking from your pics to my nails, I think they might be quite close. Could you please do a comparison??
ReplyDeleteOh man! I need to get myself some spark de triomphe and the red shatter. SO IN LOVE!
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is wantwantwantwantwant! I'm road-tripping when these come out, so hopefully I stumble upon some gem of a store between here and there so I can pick these up! Thanks for the awesome swatches!
ReplyDelete@Miranda
ReplyDeleteI don't have those Zoya's yet, but when/if I get them I will definitely compare the two :)
I love the glitters...i like the OPI shatter much better than my china glaze crackle too. I thought it was just me! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI must have thaty red shatter!!!
ReplyDeleteRally Pretty Pink reminds me a LOT of Zoya Pru (I only know this because I'm wearing Pru right now). Speaking of Zoya, I'm ordering 20 bottles (between the bestie and me). *sigh*
ReplyDeletei like the shade one,,, urggg!!!! those gold glitters are awesome
ReplyDeleteRally Pretty Pink is so cool!!
ReplyDeleteI need Spark De Triomphe, like now! Lol :)
ReplyDeleteBy the way do you know anything about OPI's summer collection Nice Stems? It should be out soon, but I haven't seen any swatches yet... I'm starting to get worried/anxious because I really want to see how I Lily Love You looks in real life
@tsatsa
ReplyDeleteThe Nice Stems Collection should be out in June, I bet we don't see swatches until mid-late May! I'm looking forward to seeing those too!
Serena is my favorite tennis player so I'm definitely getting one of these. I'm feeling Rally Pretty Pink (which, for the record, outside the word rally has zero to do with tennis) and the red shatter. Looks good. It looks like it could fit in with the rest of the Zoya summer collection, with all the gold glitter and all.
ReplyDeleteOMG I have to get some of the red shatter! Red is my all time fave color!
ReplyDeleteoh what such pretty colorss!!
ReplyDeleteAhhh they look amazing! I saw Scream 4 yesterday, I actually screamed at one point. I watched most of it from behind my hands, I'm such a wuss!
ReplyDeletered shatter is goooorgeous
ReplyDeletezoya - faye dupe alerrrrrt! def getting my hands on that red shatter though!
ReplyDeletebeautiful as always :)
Rally Pretty Pink is absolutely gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteI am definitely getting Spark de Triomphe, but I'm still not converted to crackle polishes and I doubt I will be swayed.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the great comments everyone!
ReplyDeleteLove the white on silver!
ReplyDeleteI definitely need the red shatter and pink polish <3
ReplyDeletefirst time saw the promo pict i know that i dont like the Rally Pretty Pink. but after saw your swatch now i want it! so freaking prettyy
ReplyDelete@chell
ReplyDeleteYay!! Promo pics can be so deceiving, I'm glad you like it now!
Rally Pretty Pink is simply gorgeous. I love any polish with gold shimmer. The red shatter is amazing. I'm not as crazy with the second set as I am the first.
ReplyDeleteRed shatter is so gorgeous! *drools* I usually only like red polish on other people, but your swatches have convinced me that I need it!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous. It's a pity that RPR = Faye though. I wonder who's the one who steals the ideas.. Red shatter = instant love :D Spark de Triomphe is calling my name as well :)
ReplyDeleteThe second pic is Rally Pretty Pink too??
