Essie 2011 Fair Game Resort Collection Swatches

Good Morning guys, back to the grind for most of us I'm guessing. It is for me...ugh! At least it's a short week!

Today I have for you guys Essie's Resort Collection for 2011 called the Fair Game collection. I'm guessing from the names that it's an African Safari theme! I was stalking my Ulta for this but ended up finding/buying it at a local independent beauty supply. I have heard of some people seeing it at Ulta recently though!

First up is Da Bush a light murky sage green. Love this one, are we surprised? nope! Very reminiscent of Stranger Tides from the Pirates of the Caribbean Collection from OPI, I will have a comparison of the 2 later this week! The formula was pretty good on this one, I used 2 coats on most nails but some needed 3 coats to even everything out!

Lion Around is a light pink, kind of a dusty rose color with a silver pearly shimmer running throughout. I'm not sure how I feel about this one. Sometimes I would look down at my hands and go WOW I really love this because the shade of pink was very flattering on my skintone...then other times I would look down and see something verging on a frost and was like ick. On a very positive note, I really liked the formula on this, I used 2 coats and it dried really quickly! Sometimes I have problems with Essie drying on me so that was a nice change!

Fair Game is a gunmetal gray with a multicolored shimmer. I have to say, I don't really care for this one. It leans a little too frosty for me. The color and shimmer are pretty but it just doesn't do it for me. The formula was great again, I used 2 coats and like Lion Around it dried really quickly!

Your Hut Or Mine *swoon* this polish is so fab, I love it! It's a kind of dusty dark pink with a beautiful shimmer. Easily my favorite of this collection, I don't have anything like it in my collection! If someone had told me last year that a collection would come out and the pink in it would be my favorite I would have died laughing...but here it is folks, it's happened haha! I was trying so hard to get that pretty shimmer to photograph but it's not coming out as amazing as it looks in real life, if you click on the pictures you can see it better! Great formula again, I used 2 coats for full opacity!

Deborah Lippmann Across The Universe vs. Icing Force of Love

Hi guys! Another quick post for today...then I'm off for yummy BBQ food mmm. I was shopping today and stopped by the store Icing to look for the polishes they have that are named after funny Charlie Sheen sayings (I found a couple of those woohoo). While I was searching for the Charlie Sheen polishes a nail polish duo caught my eye. There was half of it that was blue and green and glittery and looked a heck of a lot like one of my favorite polishes ever, Deborah Lippmann Across The Universe. I bought the duo and got home to do a quick side by side.

The Icing Duo polishes are called Force of Love and Magnetic Attraction. Force of Love is the one that looks dupey to Across The Universe. Once getting them on they are not dupes, but they are close enough that it could kill the lemming for some people. The main difference is the amount of small silver glitter in the Icing polish, other than that not much is different looks wise. The formula on Across The Universe is about a zillion times better but I think a drop or 2 of thinner would help the Icing polish out in that department.

I used 2 coats of each polish over Mac Spirit Of Truth which is the dark navy blue that came out with Mac's Wonder Woman collection.

This is what the Icing duo looks like, it retails for $7.50 but much like Claire's, Icing always has their polish buy 1 get 1 50% off so I didn't actually pay $7.50 for it. The bottle is pretty small but the other glitter polish it comes with is pretty also! As far as I know you can only buy these polishes in store, I don't know anywhere online that sells them!

OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui vs. Sephora by OPI Slushied vs. Sally Hansen Model Behavior

Good Morning guys! Happy Memorial Day! I have the day off from work today, woohoo!

Today I have a comparison that was requested by Rachel, she wanted to see OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui and Sephora by OPI Slushied. I decided to add in Sally Hansen Model Behavior since it happened to be sitting on my desk and looked very similar to Slushied. Sally Hansen Model Behavior is part of the spring polishes that just started popping up at Target and Walgreens, I picked it up at Walgreens last week!

Suzi Says Feng Shui looks to be the oddball in this comparison, it's much darker and leans more teal than the other two. Model Behavior and Slushied are pretty darn close though. I don't think you need one if you have the other. That actually works out well for me since I only have the mini of Slushied! If I had to pick one over the other I'd probably pick Model Behavior, the formula was very similar but I much prefer the brush Sally Hansen has to the one that Sephora by OPI has.

I used 2 coats of each polish for the photos below!

Kleancolor Chunky Holo polishes on their own!

Hi guys, quick post for today. Since so many people requested it I have the Kleancolor Chunky Holo polishes on their own today. I decided to nail wheel them! I picked up a couple more that I haven't swatched yet and am still missing Chunk Holo Teal. They are all very sheer with the except of Chunky Holo Scarlet that I just picked up, it seems to be pretty opaque!

I used 2 coats of each on the nail wheel. From left to right in all of the photos is: Chunky Holo Bluebell (235), Chunky Holo Purple (234), Chunky Holo Poppy (239), Chunky Holo Clover (232), Chunky Holo Fuschia (230), Chunky Holo Black (236), Chunky Holo Scarlet (231).

Claire's Cotton Candy Scented Polish!

Hi guys! Happy Saturday, woohoo! I slept in late this morning it was so nice!

Today I have for you guys a polish I picked up recently at Claire's. I really love that store, sometimes there are unexpected gems of polish there. This is one of them. It doesn't have a real name so I'm gonna go head and call it Cotton Candy since that is supposedly what it smells like, more on that in a second. Cotton Candy is freakin gorgeous, it's a teal green...much more green than blue but it does look blue in some light. It has a gorgeous blue shimmer and even some holo glitter sprinkled in. I love it! The formula and all that was great, really no complaints about that. I have to say this polish stinks, it doesn't smell to me like cotton candy. It smells like the godawful kettle corn they sell at Disneyland. If you have never been there or to Downtown Disney in Anaheim you might not know what I mean. They have little carts that make and sell it and it smells disgusting (in my opinion). I always dread going to a concert at the House of Blues in Anaheim because it's in Downtown Disney and I am forced to walk by the stinktastic kettle corn carts lol. Some of you may like the smell, it's just not for me...I put on 2 coats of top coat and can still smell this polish but it mellowed it a lot!

This is 2 coats of Cotton Candy! You can buy it at Claire's, it was $5, but their cosmetics are always Buy 1 Get 1 50% off so it only cost me $2.50!

A yummy close up for you! look at that shimmer and little bits of glitter!

Essence Forget Me Not

Good Morning!  Happy Friday! Anyone have fun plans for the long Memorial Day weekend? I'm going to go see The Hangover 2 tomorrow then nothing other than that. Looking forward to sleeping in on Monday since I don't have to go to work!

Today I have for you guys one of the polishes from the Blossoms collection from Essence called Forget Me Not. I found the display earlier this week at Ulta! I love that we get the Essence LE collections now, and that everything is so cheap, this polish was only $1.99! Forget Me Not is a light periwinkle blue with a gorgeous shimmer, the shimmer was playing hide and seek in my pictures but it was more visible in real life! The formula was a bit thick and I wasn't a huge fan of the brush in this one, but overall I really love the color! I used 2 coats of Essence Forget Me Not for the photos below!

Deborah Lippmann Naked

Good Morning guys! Anyone watch American Idol last night? I sure did not, once Haley went I lost interest. I liked Hayley, if she ever puts out and album I'd buy it! Instead of watching AI, I went to Lush last night. I was picking up some stuff I was out of plus a few goodies for July/August when I'm heading over to Vegas for Cosmoprof (eeek I am SO excited to get to go this year!)! Can I just say that I LOVE going into the Lush store near me, the girls that work there rule, they are so nice and knowledgeable about the products. It's such a nice change since usually everywhere employs people that are the exact opposite of how it is at Lush lol! For the first time ever I picked up a couple of the fresh face masks, last time I posted a Lush haul a few people recommended them! I was putting the Cupcake face mask into the fridge when Degen literally tried to tackle me to the ground to eat it, he didn't get it but it was funny!

Today I have for you guys Naked from Deborah Lippmann, this polish came out earlier this year for Spring. I finally bought it a few weeks ago, you know me...always on the hunt for the perfect nude polish. This doesn't give me mannequin hands but I sure do love it. It looks so clean, it's like the perfect palette cleanser. The formula was great, the polish was a little sheer but I believe it's supposed to be like that. Even being a little sheer I only needed 3 coats for full opacity! For a nude polish this is pretty pricey but it's nice to splurge once in a while, I don't regret buying this one!

sorry for the weird picture, I kept catching shadows on my nails and this was the loner keeper of all my photos

Essence Studio Nails: Drama Queen

Good Morning guys! Today I have for you guys one of the Essence Studio Nail designs. These just recently started showing up at Ulta's around here.

Before I get to talking about them I have to rant for a moment about the horrendous Ulta cashier that checked me out when I bought these. I was at the register buying these (and all the other Studio Nails from Essence) along with a Nail Fraud package that was on clearance. The girl comments on the Essence stuff and I say how I'm excited to find them, they are so cheap blah blah blah. Then the girl goes into a big old speech about nail decals are HORRIBLE for your nails and how it destroys your natural nail when you remove them. My, I'm standing there with a horrified look on my face going o.O. Just to clear up any confusion about decals like these ones from Essence, Nail Fraud, Sally Hansen etc... they do not damage your nails when you take them off, unless perhaps you are not taking them off correctly. I kind of wanted to smack that stupid girl at Ulta for spreading lies like that. If you're going to go on a rampage about how awful something is at least do some research and see if there is any truth to what you are telling people./rant

So back to what's today's post is actually about lol! These Essence Studio Nails just landed at Ulta, they retail for $2.50 each  and there are 6 designs to choose from. The design I have for you today is called Drama Queen. It's colorful, I like it! I did have a few issues with these. I had trouble getting them to smooth out, no matter how much I tried I could not get rid of some of the wrinkles and bubbles :( You can see my issues in the pictures. Despite that I really do like these, especially for the price! I should mention though that if you have large (wide) nail beds these might not work for you. There were 2 options for the thumb and both were too small for my nail bed (and I have small nail beds!)

Also, in case you haven't seen this on another blog yet...Zoya has a brand new collection out for pre-order today! The Touch Collection, consists of 3 nude shades with a slight shimmer! I can't wait to get my hands on these!

Kleancolor Chunky Holo Poppy

Good Morning guys! Today I have for you the last of the Kleancolor Chunky Holo polishes that I bought. I think that there are a couple more colors but they didn't wow me so I didn't buy them initially...might pick them up later though!

This one is Chunky Holo Poppy and it has multichrome glitter that flashes green, yellow and orange in a sheer reddish base. I layered this one over Zoya Sooki. There have been a few comments asking to see these on their own, but they look kinda crappy like that which is why I'm not showing them that way lol. They are very very sheer even after 3-4 coats, I don't think wearing them that way does justice to how fab this polish is! I used 2 coats of Chunky Holo Poppy over Zoya Sookie for the photos below.

You can purchase these at!

China Glaze Out On Safari

Good morning, happy Monday. Hope you all had a great weekend! I went and saw the new Pirates movie yesterday, I liked it! I had no idea the mermaids would be so mean in the movie. It made me want to go home and watch the nice mermaid in The Little Mermaid haha

Today I have for you guys an old HTF China Glaze called Out on Safari. This was my biggest lemming for the longest time. I had tried probably 10 times to swap for it and it never worked out. Finally a little bit ago I found someone to swap with and it worked out!! This is the 2nd time I've worn it, the first time the pictures didn't turn out great (I'm not thrilled with these ones either to be honest lol). Out on Safari is one of those ugly/pretty colors that I love. It's a muddy brownish green with a greenish gold shimmer.I'm in love with it, but it's definitely not everyone's cup of tea! I used 2 coats of Out on Safari for the photos below!

Guest Post: Pawlish by OPI Doghouse Blues

Happy Saturday! Today I have pretty much the most awesome guest post ever....I've been wanting to do this for a while and finally got around to it!

I bought this a few years back, then lost it for a long time and re-found it last time I was going through my polish. OPI put out Pawlish "color for nails for those with tails" a while back, not exactly sure when! Cute right? I picked up Doghouse Blues since Degen is a manly dog, he can't walk around with girlie pink toes lol. These are meant to be 1 coaters but Degen has black toenails so the color payoff with 1 coat isn't too great. I don't think Degen minds though ;). I did some googling and apparently dog nail polish is actually still made (though I don't think these OPI ones are) and comes in quite a few colors, I had no idea there was actually a market for this kinda thing!

Before anyone says it, I know someone will come along and get their panties twisted about painting a dogs nails...and well you can't please everyone. I would never paint his nails with "regular" polish and he really didn't mind it. Any hateful comments will not be deleted.

That said, here is Degen modeling his pretty toes. All the neighborhood dogs are jealous of him now!

Kleancolor Chunky Holo Fuschia

Hi guys! Friday is almost over, I have 2 hours and 24 minutes till I'm free for the weekend (not that I'm counting, okay I am shhh). Anyone have fun plans this weekend? I'm dragging my Dad to see Pirates of the Caribbean on Sunday. Okay, maybe not dragging him to see it, more like he was going anyway and I threatened bodily harm if he saw it without me. We're seeing the non 3-D version of it, I kinda feel like I'm alone in this but I really hate 3D movies, they give me motion sickness. Also, in case you have missed it (and I don't know how that would be possible) Zoya is having another promo. Here is a link to their blog to read about it: Zoya Promo! I figure you are probably sick of seeing it over and over and over so a link is good enough, right?

ok enough rambling for ya? Today another Kleancolor! This one is Chunky Holo Fuschia...same multichrome glitter in a fuschia base. This one was the most reminiscent (to me) of Unicorn Pee aka Clarins 230 in the bottle, not necessarily by the base color but more by the rainbow of color the bottle was giving off. Wouldn't you know the Kleancolor number for this one is also 230. I see what you're doing there Kleancolor! Since one of my favorite combos for Clarins 230 is over Revlon Royal I decided to layer this one that way. I'll let the pictures do the talking for this one. I used 2 coats of Kleancolor Chunky Holo Fuschia over Revlon Royal!

BB Couture Hangover Blues

Hi guys! I remembered to crop my pictures during my lunch break, amazing! I also watched Criminal Minds Suspect Behavior during my lunch break....last night's episode was just nasty. I've made a mental note to never watch that show while trying to eat again!

Today I have for you guys BB Couture Hangover Blues. I recently got this from a blog sale, it's been on my wishlist for a while. I gotta say...I don't think I like it very much on me :( I hate when that happens. Beautiful color but it makes my paleness look even more pale, if that's possible. Hangover Blues is a dusty robins egg blue, not too bright. It's has a VERY hidden shimmer, so hidden that 99.99% of the time I couldn't actually see it on the nail. It's apparent in the bottle but it doesn't translate very well. The formula was fantastic, a little on the thick side but that meant it went on smooth and covered even better. Had I been careful I might have gotten away with one coat! As amazing as it went on, Hangover Blues didn't wear too well for me. You can see the tip wear in the photos, I took these after having the polish on for about 4 hours at work.

I used 2 coats of BB Couture Hangover Blues for the photos below

You can buy BB Couture from as far as I know BB Couture is not available in regular stores (at least none that I've ever found) I wish it was, I'd probably own a lot more that actually maybe its a good thing I can only find it online lol

My Julep Giveaway Ends Today!

There will be a regular post today (I forgot to crop the photos last night LOL) but I wanted to mention that today is the very last day to enter to win 3 fab polishes from Julep! You can enter by clicking the link below, remember US Only, giveaway closes at Midnight Pacific Time.

Kleancolor Chunky Holo Purple

Good Morning! Work week is almost half over woohoo! I don't think I ever mentioned it, but I added some polish lots to my blogsale, you can reach it by clicking the "blog sale" tab at the top of the page!

Today is another Kleancolor day, I'd feel bad about posting so many of the same brand in a row if these weren't so awesome!  Chunk Holo Purple is that same multichrome glitter in a sheer jelly purple base. This is my personal favorite so far...the glitter in this one is the most in your face multichrome indoors and in the shade! I have 2 coats of Chunky Holo Purple layered over Zoya Pinta for the pictures below!
