Nicole by OPI announces the launch of Texture Coat, a line of graffiti-style nail art products inspired by OPI’s bestselling Shatter. Available in six chic shades – Gold, Silver, Red, White, Turquoise and Black – Texture Coat offers a simple way to create unique, unpredictable patterns on nails with a quick, at-home application.
“Fans of Nicole by OPI are fun, fashion-forward women who love experimenting with trends and using nail lacquer as a form of self-expression,” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, Nicole by OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “Texture Coat offers an easy way to create your own completely customized nail art. Whether you choose pastels, darks, glitters, shimmers, or sheers to pair with Texture Coat, the endless options will accessorize every look.”
To use this product, start with Base Coat Plus, followed by two coats of any Nicole by OPI nail lacquer. Let the lacquer dry completely before applying Texture Coat. Complete the manicure with Top Coat Plus for a high-shine finish.

So is it the Nicole by OPI version of shatter or something different?
ReplyDelete@PolishedToTheNines
ReplyDeletePretty sure that's exactly what it is with the exception of the Gold that OPI hasn't put out
oooo i want to get my hands on that turquoise!!!!! such a sexy colour
ReplyDelete@Jen
ReplyDeleteYeah the rest of those look MIGHTY familiar. I am intrigued by gold though!
why on earth the launch about the same color?
ReplyDeletewhy they don't use other color?
i mean there's a lot of shatter polish with his color right? like OPI has this and why Nicole release the same except the gold.
but thanks for sharing Jen :)
when do these come out!?
ReplyDeletethe turquoise one has my name on it too! I will be getting mine at Target or HEB. And so easily accessible,not like when the OPI Black Shatter came out,and Ulta didn't ever have any in stock the many times I went in to get it.
ReplyDeleteMy first impression with the name 'Texture Coat' was that they were dud or failed 'Shatter' formulas from OPI, re-branded for the Nicole by OPI brand as something different. *shrugs*
ReplyDeleteGuess we'll have to wait for swatches.
@OnceBitten
ReplyDeleteLOL we will certainly see. It would kinda funny/weird/sad if that was what they were....failed shatters
@thalie
ReplyDeletedefinitely agree with you there, Nicole OPI is a lot more accessible and easy to find for a lot of people
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteJuly :)
@chell
ReplyDeleteWish I could tell you, though I do appreciate them releasing these through Nicole by OPI, it's a lot easier for people get find/buy them since it's more widely available. I do wish companies would give us some more colors!
Looks cool! Though, I'll probably stick with cheaper crackle options
ReplyDeleteHey Jen, just found your blog. Love it! I've been missing all the great new collections..not sure why it never occurred to me find such a blog, but yours is the best I've seen so far and I'm excited to follow you =)
ReplyDeleteI have a question about the one of the CG cackles..my sally finally had a full stock of them except for fault line :( Grabbed them all and I was very excited to try the white on CG four leaf clover..it came out gross and yellow! I had no problem with the other ones applied on dark polishes, and made sure the polish was dry. I saw you used it with a green too and it looked perfect! Do you use a topcoat before applying the white?
Thanks!
Mel
@Melissa
ReplyDeleteThanks Mel!
For the white China Glaze crackle I did use that over a top coat. I've heard of other people having problems with the white looking yellow over certain colors also. It just might not play well with Four Leaf Clover. You should try it over a lighter green, I think you might like the results better!
so the "texture" coat is the same as the shatter?? i somehow expected something else from the different name!
ReplyDeleteI agree, the gold one looks fun! Shatters are really the biggest nail trend at det moment
ReplyDeleteConsidering my disappointment in my OPI from Sephora Gold "blasted" shatter knock off's difficult application, I'm going to guess that it probably is in fact a shatter reject.
ReplyDeleteI've tried OPI shatter and the gold Nicole texture. The Nicole texture isn't anywhere as good as the OPI shatter.
ReplyDeleteThe OPI shatter has a thicker wand, so it picks more polish up so that you can put more on your nail before it dries, like it does with the nicole texture.
I was REALLY disappointed with the Nicole texture. I would suggest buying the OPI shatter.
