Paul & Joe 015 Venus

Hi guys! So the International Beauty Show today was a no go, my friend that I was with got pretty sick so we decided best to come home. I'm pretty bummed but oh well, such is life right?!? Yesterday was fun so that's good enough for me! Hopefully next year I'll be able to go!

Anyway, today I have for you guys a polish I recently picked up from Apothica.com. It's from Paul & Joe's Summer 2011 collection. Apothica's website says it's called Venus but on the box and bottle it just says the color is 015. I'm kinda surprised I haven't heard about this one before...I googled and only found 1 swatch of it so I bought it in the hopes that it would be as awesome as the little picture made it out to be. Good news, it's better than I thought it would be! Venus is a light blue packed with gold and silver square glitter, it's also got little bits of iridescent square glitter running throughout it. It was a little sheer at first but it went on completely opaque with 3 coats. These Paul & Joe polishes dry with a bit of a scent, it's very light though...a little bit flowery but I can't put my finger on the exact smell.

Macro!

Shade, the little iridescent pieces really came to life in the shade! Ignore the pink flash in the bottle, it's my camera reflection lol

I bought this at Apothica.com, Paul & Joe polish retails for $14 a bottle.

lol usually it's not an issue but I couldn't get a good picture in the shade without reflecting! Next time I camera shop I will definitely NOT be buying a bright pink camera haha

  6. I love the glitter! It looks so cool in the shade, kinda like snow on water. :)

  7. they claim that it's the smell of rose... but don't quote me on this. their base coat smells strongly of rose, but i'm not sure about the actual polishes.=P

  11. This is gorgeous!! I have the same issue with my bright red camera, I get reflections a lot with it. I need to replace it anyway so I'll be sure to get a non-color one!

  12. Beautiful combination of glitter in a pretty base :) It reminds me of Lippmann's GITA in type, though they're very different of course.

  13. Very pretty! I wonder how similar it is to Golden Seahorse by LA Splash?

I think it probably is rose but it's very muted...like a very toned down version of how Anna Sui polish smells when it's dry

It reminded me of GITA in the air too but like you said very different. Same idea though!

  19. Wow, that is gorgeous!

I also have a pink camera and it gives me problems with reflecting in my pictures.

  20. Lemming this other than it looks a bit chunky on the finish and I am so tired of scrubbing off glitters - yet these light ones I still cannot get enough of! Sorry you did not get to go to the LV Beauty Convention. Hope your friend feels better fast. Horrible to set sick while away from home.

It actually wasn't too bumpy, 1 coat of top coat smoothed it out! Didn't need to bring out the foil for removal either. It took more work than a creme to get off but it wasn't nearly as bad as a lot of other glittery polishes!

  22. Gorgeous!

Reminds me of Anna Sui polishes ! Since both are japanese companies it kinds of make sense :)
