Serena Williams Grand Slam! England Swatches!

Good Morning guys, happy Thursday! Thank god it's almost Friday, for a short work week this one sure felt long! Tonight I'm going to a concert, my cousin Michelle and I are going to see Forever The Sickest Kids and Anarbor. Michelle likes Forever The Sickest Kids and I've been dying to see Anarbor live for like 2 years so it should be a good time even though I will probably be the oldest one there lol!

Today I have for you guys the 3 new polishes that make up the 2 new duo's OPI is putting out with Serena Williams for the Grand Slam! England.  The first duo contains Grape...Set...Match and Servin' Up Sparkle and the second duo contains Your Royal Shine-ness and Servin' Up Sparkle. I guess Servin' Up Sparkle was just so fantastical that OPI wanted to give it to us twice haha!

First up is Grape...Set...Match. This polish is so full of win, I love it. I think I need a back up, or 5! This polish is packed with purple, blue and pink micro glitter/shimmer in a red toned purple base. The most dominant glitter is the purple but the blue and pink are pretty noticeable out in the sun and indoors! In the shade and indoors this turns into a bit of blue/purple/pink multichrome. It's not a super strong multichrome but I didn't have to struggle to see it! Pretty much, this polish rules. The formula was great, I used 3 coats for full opacity! The pictures below are clickable if you want to see more of the sparkle!

Servin' Up Sparkle is small round and large holographic hex glitter in a clear base. It's awesome. It was a little thick but not hard to work with. it was nice and easy to get a lot of glitter in the nail with 1 coat! Now, in no way does this picture do any kind of justice to how great Servin' Up Sparkle is...it was the best that my camera would take...but I have a video below that shows the sparkle better!

Alright, here is the video. It's short and sweet. My camera was flat out refusing to focus but I think it actually works out since you can see just how sparkly this is with it being a little blurry. In person it looks amazing. If you like glitter top coats it is a must have! Just FYI Grape...Set...Match is not color accurate in the video, it looks pretty dark and blueish for some reason (at least on my monitor it does!)

Your Royal Shine-ness is a dark silver foil and comes in the second duo along with Servin' Up Sparkle. I do like this polish but I have a few like it already so I'm kinda meh about it. The formula was great, I do love a good foil polish and this is definitely one of them. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

The set with Grape...Set...Match is an absolute must have if you like purple...heck even if you don't like purple you might like that one. It's awesome. I would pass on the other duo with Your Royal Shine-ness unless you don't already have a silver foil!

Glam Slam! England will be available beginning June 2011 at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for $14.95 ($20.95 CAN) suggested retail for each duo-pack.

  4. Love Your Royal Shine-ness!
I got the Milani Silver from Jewel FX, and I've had a hard time applying those big glitters to my nails.. Maybe these kind of glitters like Servin' Up Sparkle are better in that case..

    (Sorry for commenting twice!)

  5. I love that glitter. Us the silver foil duochrome at all. In the second pic it kinda looks like it flashes champagne.

I haven't tried that Milani so I can't speak to this one going on easier but Servin' Up Sparkle is great, I think you will love it!

Nope no duochrome at all in Your Royal Shine-ness...I think maybe it's just the lighting in my pic playing tricks unfortunately

  11. After being lukewarm at best at the first two Serena collections, I LOVE THIS. That purple is so pretty. And while I'm not a big fan of glitter, servin up sparkle is awesome. I want and need at least Grape Set Match.

  14. Grape...Set...Match is so pretty. I really want/need that! It's super sparkly. I can do without Your Royal Shine-Ness. It's pretty, but I've seen so many colors similar to it.

  16. I with Becky except I am drooling over Grape...Set...Match. Serena is a nail polish genius if she had anything to do with the design, color, say, polishes, plus your nails in the video, what can I say but beautiful, gorgeous, and amazing, LOL

  18. With ya on this one. Like the purple - even the glitter as much as I HATE taking them off and tire if they are on my nails more than a day...but this repeat of yet another long tired silver (of any light to dark hue) metallic - yawn. And just think....OPI is still got another silver metallic (along with a gold one) to release when the end of the year Muppets collection comes out. Yikes! Serena maybe had a lot to do with really wanting a metallic in this set? She WAS the driving force behind the first part of this series with the chartreuse green metallic.
