Color Club Fall 2011 Back To Boho Collection Swatches!

Good Morning guys! Today I have for you guys Color Club's Back to Boho Collection for Fall! I've been looking forward to this collection since I usually really love what Color Club puts out for Fall! Back to Boho is described by Color Club as 12 70's inspired shades and I am loving it!

For full sized photos and reviews of each shade please click the read more button below!

Earthy Angel is a delicious creamy tan-ish flesh nude kind of color. I love this so much! I know some of you guys aren't into the nude shades we've been seeing this year but I love them, I don't think we've seen one quite this shade! The formula was a little sheer, I need 3 coats for full opacity!

New Bohemian is a bright turquoise blue, it does lean a little more green indoors but more blue than anything. It reminds me a lot of For Audrey but I compared them in the bottles and this is definitely brighter! It went on a bit sheer and streaky on the first coat but the 2nd coat evened it all out!

Nomadic Nude is a light putty-ish tan nude. Next time I do a palette cleanser type of mani I think this will be my base, it's perfect! It does a bit of a weird thing to my skin tone but who cares...it's awesome! The formula was really great for light nude shade, first coat went on sheer but the 2nd made it completely opaque! I did need a 3rd coat of a couple nails to even out some streaks but it wasn't too bad!

Boho Mojo is a dirty silver-ish grey frost. You guys...I don't like this I'm sorry. Frost like this scares me...like how do you even apply it so it doesn't look like this? The formula was kind of a nightmare, you can tell from the photo...brush strokealicious. If this was ever able to be applied without streaks I would probably love it, it was shiny like whoa out in the sun. Below is 2 coats of Boho Mojo in the shade.

Artsy Crafty is dark olive green. Much darker and bluer toned than the greens we saw from China Glaze and OPI for Fall. I think this is what I expected Deborah Lippmann's Billionaire to look like actually. This did have a little bit of a tendency to look black in low light but out in the sun it's very apparent that it's green! The formula was great, I used 2 coats for the photo below. Also, check out how shiny it is...you can see the phone pole behind my house in the reflection lol!

Rad Nomad is a dark dusty purple grey creme. This looked a little more purple in the bottle but I love the way it looks on. It reminds me of the base color of Chanel Paradoxal or maybe Zoya Kelly but darker. I also thought this might be dupey to I Brake For Manicures from OPI Fall but no dice...the OPI is darker and more purple. Great formula on this one too, I used 2 coats for the photo below.

Shabby Drab is a light dusty periwinkle. I don't think I have the words to express how much I love this polish. I'm a huge fan of periwinkle so if you give me a dusty version of it, it's pretty much an automatic win! Indoors and it low light this leans a little bit more purple but outside it walks the purple/blue line really nicely. The formula was a bit sheer but it built up to be amazing, I used 3 coats for the photo below.

Red-ical Gypsy is a dark blue toned red, not unique but still pretty. I did have some problems controlling the formula on this one, it wanted to run all up into the cuticle. Other than that no issues here, I used 2 coats for full opacity.

VooDoo You Do is a gunmetal grey with a greenish shimmer running throughout it. It kinda walks the frosty line. I absolutely loved this while I was putting it on, indoors it's one of my favorites from this collection. Once I stepped outside I fell a little out of love with it but now I can't make up my mind. This is one I will probably not wear on sunny days lol. The formula was okay, a little hard to work with but I only needed 2 coats.

Blue-topia...I have 3 words for this. DARK BLUE JELLY!! *dies* amazing. Formula was awesome, not a nightmare like some dark blue jellies I can think of. It did look a bit black in low light but out in the sun...whoa! If you like blue and jellies this shade is for you. It does stain, double up on base coat and be careful when you remove it. I had smurf fingers after taking this baby off lol. I used 2 coats for the photo below!

Rebel Spirit is a very dark brown. This was a little more brown looking in real life but overall it just looked black. I wish it would have stayed the color it looked on the first coat. It looked like I had melted a hershey bar onto my nails! I used 2 coats for the photo below.

Nouveau Vintage oh man...I don't even know how to describe this. It's a reddish brown with a golden and green shimmer. Basically, it's awesomesauce. In some light like you can see below this looks very green, at other angles very brown or a gorgeous coppery gold shade. If you only pick up 1 from this entire collection this would be my pick. It's definitely a unique polish in my stash! It was a little sheer, I needed 3 coats for full opacity! The first picture is in the sun and the last 2 are in the shade!

So what do you guys think? Overall, kind of a random collection of colors but I really like a lot of them! my pics from the collection are Nouveau Vintage, Shabby Drab, Nomadic Nude and Blue-Topia.

I'm not sure of an exact release date for this collection, the press release I have says September. I checked out all the etailers I could think of that would have this collection and none of them have it up yet. Hopefully they will be available sooner than September!

  12. How does Shabby Drab compare to Zoya Caitlin? They seem like they could be similar. I'd love to see what you think.

  13. VooDoo You Do really reminds me of "Fair Game" from Essie's resort collection this summer. Any similarity in person, or is this just a trick of the light? :)

  14. I actually really like this collection! Lately CC has been releasing a selection of nudes in their collections, which is nice for folks who need work safe polishes - and I feel like they make lovely nudes that are very flattering. So I'm on board with them. And Nouveau Vintage is STUNNING. I'll be getting quite a few of these! Great swatches, Jen. I hate the two frosts, though. Total pass on those!

  19. I agree that it's random, but it's still a nice collection. I'd like to get Nouveau Vintage, Bluetopia, Voodoo You Do, and Artsy Crafty.

Boho Mojo is just tragic though.

  20. OMG, Nouveau Vintage is KILLING IT!!! That color is gorgeous. Shabby Drab and New Bohemian are nice, too... the others not so much for me. I'll probably buy them all, though, lol!

  21. Other than Earthly Angel (for some odd reason as it's not all that unique - just a bit more pinky on the nude hue than anything I have - and is harkening me back to some fav CND shade I had in the mid to late 80's I have never found good dupes for...and then like most of you, Nouveau Vintage, are the ones grabbing at my heart strings from this collection. All in all, I am not wild about any of the fall collections except (and a huge except) for Smoke & Mirrors from Zoya. Zoya IMHO hit it out of the park this fall.

I think I need to get a few of these definitely a big YES on Nouveau Vintage and New Bohemian and a few others maybe. ;)

I have to kind agree on Boho Mojo. It looks kinda like a metallic frost of some sort.. maybe that's just me. haha

  23. How does Nomadic Nude compare to OPI Skull and Glossbones?

  24. I'm wearing Nouveau Vintage right now. How gorgeous is that? Ö_Ö  I haven't seen such a beautiful and unique color for a long time!

  25. Right now I have the dark brown  Rebel Spirit on, I would describe as a dark sienna, I usually don't like browns like this because of the maroon quality many have, but this does not have any maroon reflection. Truly a unique colour, goes well with my pasty skin (im irish). Lovely, unique I love it.
