Deborah Lippmann Billionaire

Hi guys! Happy Friday!! My work week is over an ohh about 2 1/2 hours so I am a happy camper! I'm even happier because of the polish I have for you today!

Deborah Lippmann Billionaire is part of her Fall 2011 collection. All 4 of her Fall shades along with the Get The Party Started Trio will be available at Nordstroms anniversary sale starting on July 15th...but if you are like me and have a Nordstroms card you can run right over there and buy them now! Billionaire is a dark hunter green, I love it! It's pretty much the darkest dark green you can get, indoors and in the shade it has the tendency to look almost black but out in the sun you can definitely tell it's green! I'm not sure if Deborah made this shade with anyone like she does pretty often, so I will just be pretending it was inspired by the Travis McCoy song...wouldn't that be funny if it actually was! Billionaire was a bit streaky and sheer on the first coat but the second coat went on like a dream, I still had a couple patchy spots so I used 3 coats for the photos below. The shine on this when it dried was like whoa...I did not use a top coat in the photos below!

  1. I love dark, murky greens like this.

I have OPI Here Today...Aragon Tomorrow and it looks close enough for me, especially considering how expensive Deborah Lippmann polishes are.

  2. It's gorgeous, but I think I can pass as I have enough similar colors! Thanks for posting this!

  3. Very pretty, though it's not immediately shouting "get me!". I'm more interested in Brick House from the same collection. And I think you are absolutely spot on by thinking Billionaire is named after the song-- the other two polishes in the collection (Brick House and Single Ladies) are also song titles.

  5. Can you please do some Harry Potter nails? For the premiere on July 15th I'd like to have some cool nails. Thanks!

  6. @You-Know-Who

Unfortunately I don't think I will be doing anything like that. Not a huge Harry Potter fan and that sort of nail art isn't something I'm very good at :(

I think I'm going to skip it, but it's a great color for fall. :D

  9. That looks pretty but not exactly my cup of tea. I'll have to pass on it. That glitter trio, however, will be mine. Mwahahaha!

I've noticed that most of Deborah Lippmann's polishes are named after song titles. I think it's kind of cool to see the idea behind a song expressed in a polish color.

  13. Wow - amazing shine for no top coat! I don't see the green but will take your word for it being there. I love blacks that have blue/green/burgundy in them - esp since I look lousy in plain black polish for some reason. Have to over lay it with something always. Wish I lived close to a Nordies. I would be there in a flash to look at the new DL shades. Nearest is 2.5 hr drive. Ugh. Hardly ever get there. When I am in that town I am doing medical appointments and beat at the end of those - eat and head home sans shopping.

  15. I thought there were 3 shades in the DL fall collection - a rust frost looking one and 2 others. What's the link to them? I think I missed something important!

  16. I was not slipping - there are only 3 in the DL fall 2011 collection. Billionaire: moody hunter green (creme)
    Brick House: shimmering rust (shimmer)
    Single Ladies: flirtatious red (creme)

Did you see a 4th when you scampered over to Nordies to pick this gem out?

I don't know what you are looking at but there are 4 shades in her Fall collection. Billionaire, Single Ladies, Brick House and Stormy Weather.

  18. Love "Stormy Weather!"  Great edgy granite on it's own and also great as a base with layering polishes such as:  - Stairway to Heaven,  Happy Birthday, Today was a Fairy Tale and Glitter in the Air, The Future is Yours and Money Now Sleep Later.
