OPI Fall 2011 Touring America Collection Swatches!

Good Morning guys! More fall polishes for you today, this time from OPI's Fall 2011 Touring America Collection! The Touring America Collection brings us 4 new shimmers and 8 new creme shades! This collection was inspired by a road trip Suzi took across the country and is meant to revive and reinvent some of the classic/iconic fall shades we all love!

For full pictures and reviews of each shade please click the read more button below!

My Address is "Hollywood" is a rosy pink with a subtle shimmer.  This seems to me more of a summer color but I really love it and will no doubt, wear it anyway. It is very very similar to Essie Your Hut Or Mine. I did a comparison I will post sometime this week and the only difference is the shimmer! The formula on this was a little tricky, it kept wanting to drag. My best advice is to use a very light touch while applying this polish. I used 3 coats for the photos below.

Are We There Yet? is a peachy melon shimmer. This one also feels summery to me but who cares, it's awesome! Such a gorgeous color, I think it would be flattering a ton of skin tones, I know it was on mine! The formula left a bit to be desired, it was a lot like the formula for My Address is Hollywood. It won't stop me from wearing and loving this polish! I used 3 coats for the photos below!

I Eat Mainely Lobster is a pink leaning coral shimmer. I love the name of this polish haha! I also love the color, I have a lot of coral since I've been a little obsessed with it this year but I can't think of any I have with shimmer like this! Same kind of formula issues as the two polishes above but again it won't stop me from wearing it! I used 3 coats for the photos below!

Suzi Takes The Wheel is a brown toned grey...I call this shade donkey grey. Originally I was going to try and describe it a fancier way but I mentioned it on twitter and people said they knew what I meant so I'm going to go with that lol! The formula was great on this one, I used 2 coats for the photos below.

French Quarter For Your Thoughts is a more blue toned grey...or in my animal terms a dolphin grey haha! Usually I gravitate towards grey's with this tone, they seem to work a little better with my skin tone! The formula again was really great, 2 coats for full opacity!

Now I know if you are just scrolling through the post those two greys probably look identical so I decided to put them side by side. Also...I pulled pretty much every grey Misa and Zoya I have trying to find a dupe to these and nada...isn't that crazy?!? I thought I would for sure find one but none of them were even close enough to make me want to compare them. I'm sure there are dupes out there somewhere but I don't think I own them.

A-Taupe The Space Needle is a rich taupe brown. Love it, I love everything like this so are we surprised? nope! I thought this would be similar to the taupe shade from China Glaze's Metro Collection but nope. China Glaze is more purple. I still need to go through my shades like this and see if I do have anything else close. The formula was great, I used 2 coats for the photos below!

Uh-Oh Roll Down The Window is an olive/army green. The name of this polish...lol! I do love the color but to name kind of makes me squirm...maybe I'm weird I dunno. I have a couple comparisons in mind for this, I did one next to Westside Warrior from China Glaze already, not dupes but we'll see if I have anything that is! Again, great formula! I used 2 coats for the photos below!

Get In The Espresso Lane is a dark brown. Seems to have a lot of grey undertones in there as well. I was expecting it to pull a little green based on some of the swatches I have seen but it wasn't doing that for me.. The formula was again great (are you sick of hearing that yet? lol) I used 2 coats for full opacity.

I Brake For Manicures is a dark greyed out plum purple. This was a bit more greyed out than I expected from looking at in it in the bottle. I can't think of anything quite like this so if you want to see it compared to anything let me know in the comments! I bet you're going to guess what I say next....great formula! I used 2 coats!

Honk If You Love OPI is a dark vampy purple. yum! Not the most original shade but I love it anyway...I'm a sucker for purple! I did have a little bit of a problem with the formula on this one...make sure you let it dry between coats. Usually I can get away with not doing that but this polish had a tendency to drag at the cuticle. You can see what I mean on my ring finger in the photos below if you look closely! I used 2 coats for full opacity.

Road House Blues is a rich dark blue! Love this one so much. It's pretty much perfection...there is probably a dupe somewhere. I don't think I have it if there is one but I might need to get it because this color is awesome! Fantastic formula...again! I used 2 coats for the photos below!

A Color To Diner For is a gorgeous shimmery red! I left this one to swatch last because it was my favorite in the bottle and I really love it on too! I'm actually wearing it right now as a full manicure! I'm so not a red girl but if all red's looked like this I might be haha! The formula was better on this one than the other shimmers, I didn't have the dragging problems with it. I used 2 coats for full opacity!

So what do you guys think? Overall I do like the collection, especially the 4 shimmers, Road House Blues, Uh-Oh Roll Down The Window and A-Taupe The Space Needle. I feel like we have seen a lot of these before but it seems to have been OPI's intention to revive and re-invent some of these shades so I guess that explains it!

Touring America by OPI will be available August 3, 2011, at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for $8.50 ($10.95 CAN) suggested retail for each Nail Lacquer.

  3. Great swatches! In fact, I really appreciate all the new collection swatches you've been doing. I would love to see some comps of the fall greens side by side: Uh Oh Roll Down the Window and Westside Warrior (even though you already said they are different) to the green from Nicole, Sephora by OPI Caught With My Khakis Down, any similar Zoya greens...

Thank you! I will definitely have up the comparison between Westside Warrior & Uh-Oh this week. I still have to do the ones with the new NOPI green and I was going to pull Zoya Shawn as well. Hopefully I can get them all up for you guys at the same time!

  7. I think I'm color saturated...none of these float my boat. But then, OPI has to do something VERY special to get my attention.
I'd love to see UORDTW next to Gemma. I don't think they're dupes, but I think they're close enough for me.

  8. I really like all the red/coral shades but the darker ones I'm not sure about. I feel like I could get close-enough shades for cheaper.

  9. Great swatches! I really like Hollywood and Are We There Yet - love the shimmer. Oh, and if you're going with shimmer, might as well throw A Color to Diner Fro in there, too. The dark blue and the dark purple are gorgeous - perfect for Fall!

  10. Thank you for these!
I love OPI but I am kind of disappointed with these. The pinks and corals are not that original, and the other colours are just not my thing.

  11. The blue looks like China Glaze First Mate to me..maybe slightly different!

  12. honk if you love OPI kind of reminds me of lincoln park after dark .. what do you guys think?

  13. Love how you put the polish names below on that comparison pic!

None of these really scream out to me, I'm all about jewel tones and Zoya this fall. Sorry OPI. :(

  14. I'm pretty underwhelmed by these. Oh well, good for my bank account. I like I Brake For Manicures but that's probably the only one I'll get. Roadhouse Blues looks like it might be similar to China Glaze First Mate?

  15. The first three are really the only ones I'm interested in. Kind of disappointing, but good for my wallet!

  16. Yeah, I'm not terribly tempted by any of these. I wish they would've put a non-pink/red shimmer in this collection. You did a great job showing them all off, though. :)

  17. @Madeline

I add that to my list of comparisons to get done! :)

  18. I wasn't really impressed by the promo pictures for the collection but I am loving My Address Is Hollywood, Are We There Yet?, and I Eat Mainely Lobster. The shimmer in them is really pretty but I still don't know if I really want or need all three of them.

  19. Thx for sharing. I really love The Road House Blues. Very pretty.

  20. Is it ridiculous that I want A-Taupe The Space Needle just because I love Seattle? HAH. Probably.

Are We There Yet? looks incredible, I want that one too. And I think I Eat Mainely Lobster also.

    Thanks for the great swatches!!!

  21. LOVE A Color to Diner For!! Great photos :)

  22. I want all of these! I'm soooo excited for fall :) Great swatches, thank you :D

  23. Maybe some of these will grow on my and hop into my hands to come home with me. But over all I am underwhelmed by this collection. Is it just from all the fun brights of summer? I don't think so because China Glaze and Zoya have some great fall collections going for them. OPI seems to have really toned it down more than just a notch. But then also look at what they have been coming out with? They were missing a large part of the OPI market that needs polish they can wear day to day, event to event and not have to worry what they have on is too out there to pass for more demure looks they need. It is a fall collection and I hand it to OPI for not pulling out a bunch of nudes to toss in there.

  26. Great swatches! Would love to see a comparison of I Brake For Manicures with Essie Smokin' Hot and RBL Recherché. I think I need Road House Blues too.

  27. @BluMochi

unfortunately I don't have either of those polishes so I can't compare them, I'm sorry :(

I'll definitely be getting Road House Blues, and maybe one of the corals!

  32. You have the BEST swatches of this collection by far, thank you!!!! :)

  33. Can you do a comparison of Sally Hansen complete salon manicure "Eel Skin" with the two greys in the collection? And also the olive green "Roll Down the Window" with Sephora by OPI's "Caught With My Kahkis Down"?

Please? Thanks! Me and my coworkers are interested how these compare!
