Maybelline Purple Trend

Good morning!! Happy hump day :D! Today I have for you guys another gorgeous polish from Maybelline. This was in the same display as Cool Couture! Initially I couldn't find this one, I had heard about it but every Rite Aid I went to was out of it. I finally found a store with this beauty in the display, and I am SO glad I did!

Purple Trend is is rich purple toned brown with a bright blue shimmer. Mind=blown. I cannot believe this polish, it is gorgeous! I pretty much like any brown-ish polish but then you add in something like blue shimmer that actually translates onto the nail and I am absolutely in love! The formula was great, 2 coats that went on like butter! If you are looking for this I have only seen it out at Rite Aid stores, I've been stalking drugstores lately looking Halloween displays and Walgreens and CVS have not had the display with this out at all.

Jesse's Girl JulieG Collection Swatches!

Good Morning everyone!! I'm so excited for today's post! I have the JulieG Collection from Jesse's Girl for you! If you don't know who JulieG is you need to go check out her great Youtube Channel! Julie does wonderful make up and nail tutorials! She seems so nice and bubbly and happy, I really love people like that. I was actually supposed to meet Julie and the wonderful people behind Jesse's Girl out at CosmoProf earlier this month but Vegas did a number on my stomach and I wasn't feeling well enough, I am still bummed about that :(. Anyway, back to polish, Jesse's Girl teamed up with Julie to put out a brand new 8 piece collection consisting of 6 cremes and 2 shimmers and I am so excited to show them to you!

Orly Mineral Fx Collection Swatches

Good Morning!! Hope all of you had a good weekend! Anyone watch the VMA's? I sort of did, I DVR-ed it then fast forwarded through about 98% of it, I only watched Adele and Young The Giant.....everyone else...meh. It seems like the VMA's get crappier every year and I don't even know who half the people are that are nominated.

Today I have for you guys the Mineral Fx Collection from Orly! I saw these at CosmoProf and was blown away, they are shimmer packed and gorgeous! I believe these are supposed to be on shelves starting in September but some Sally Beauty Supply stores already have them out. I got mine there, they weren't out but the sales associate was nice enough to go get them out of the back for me!

Nail Fraud Golden Waves

Good Morning! Hope you're all having a good Saturday so far! I also hope all of you over on the east coast who are being affected by Hurricane Irene are safe and okay!!

Today I have for you guys some super cute decals from Nail Fraud, this design is called Golden Waves. This was one of my favorite designs out of all the ones I have. The gold wavey lines are a little bit holo! It doesn't translate very well in my picture but in person it was stunning!  These were super easy to apply and remove, I didn't have issues with them wanting to wrinkle or bubble which is always nice with decals! it does look like there is some shrinkage at the tips in my photo but I actually couldn't see that at all in real life!

Nail Fraud Nail Strips can be purchased on, they retail for $12 each!

Nailtini Garden Jubilee

Good Morning! Happy Friday!!! Anyone have fun plans this weekend? I don't :( I actually was supposed to have SUPER fun plans but they have been made more awesome and pushed back a couple weeks! Today I have to take Degen to the vet :( just a yearly check up kind of thing but man...I hate it (probably more than he does) lol. Also, last night I finally got an iPhone yaaaaay! I had TMobile and a horrible crappy Blackberry Bold for a while and I just couldn't take it anymore so I switch to Verizon and got a phone I actually wanted! I feel so liberated now haha

So for today's post I have a gorgeous shade from Nailtini called Garden Jubilee. This shade is one that comes from Janie Bryant's second collaboration with Nailtini. If you have no idea who the heck Janie Bryant is, well then let me tell you! Janie Bryant is the fabulous costume designer for Mad Men. I kind of love that show and that Nailtini has collaborated with her a couple of times!

Garden Jubilee is a gorgeous pink/yellow/green multichrome! ahh amazing! On it's own it's pretty sheer, I layered it over black when I wore it to really make it pop! I definitely prefer this shade when I'm in low light, or my office, or in the shade. Out in the sun it has more of a brownish red shimmer feeling going on, I do like it just not as much as when all the wonderful multichrome is showing! I used 1 coat of Garden Jubilee over OPI Black Onyx for the photos below! The first 2 are in the shade and the second 2 are in the sun!

Garden Jubilee is available now on Nailtini's website, each polish retails for $14! These Janie Bryant polishes come in super cute gold boxes, I am in love with the packaging!

Revlon Starry Pink

Good Morning!! Hope you're all having a good day so far! I am excited for today's post! If you follow me on twitter you might have seen me talking about trying to find these glitters from Revlon. I went to 7 or 8 Target stores near me and nada. Finally when I was about to give up hope I went into a Target far away and BAM Revlon glitters!! I jumped for joy and grabbed 2 of each (there are 3 different shades). I decided to swatch my favorite first. This one I was meh about until I saw it in person but it is gorgeous!

Starry Pink is a very light pale pink with silver glitter. It's filled with small round pieces of glitter and hex glitter. This color is seriously fabulous, it's not normally something I would be all crazy for but it is so soft and pretty and perfect! The formula was surprisingly pretty good...not too thick. It covered well and was more opaque than I expected. I usually have issues with Revlon bubbling on me but that didn't happen with Starry Pink. One thing I really loved about this polish is that is dried pretty smooth, there was a little texture but nothing crazy like with a lot of glitter packed polishes. I used 3 coats of Starry Pink for the photos below. The first 2 are in the sun and the 3rd and close up are in the shade!

So what do you think? I think my search of Target stores was worth it! So far I haven't seen these anywhere except for Target but I would guess that they will start showing up in other stores eventually!

Maybelline Cool Couture

Good Morning!! Today I have for you guys a Maybelline polish I picked up the other day, I believe this is part of their Fall Collection? I can never keep track of the drugstore brands but it looked like a Fall display when I saw it. Usually I don't pick up or even look for Maybelline polishes because the last few I've gotten have kind of sucked :( but good news, this one is awesome!

Cool Couture is a dark very blue toned grey with a gorgeous blue and green shimmer running throughout it. OMG amazing. I saw this and went :O then bought both of the ones in the display. There is also a brown with blue shimmer that looks all kinds of amazing, I haven't swatched that yet though. The formula was good, the first coat was a bit sheer but the second coat went on like butter! This color is freaking fabulous, if Maybelline made stuff like this all the time I'd be such a fangirl of them! I used 2 coats of Cool Couture for the photos below.

I picked this polish up at Rite Aid, but I went to a few and one 1 store already had it out. Also the displays only had 2 of each color, which if you want this I hope you can find it too!

OPI Muppets Collection for Holiday 2011 Preview!

Since it looks like this post is still getting a lot of traffic you can check out my swatches HERE :)

Hey guys, this landed in my inbox a little bit ago. I know a lot of people other than myself are excited about this collection so I thought I'd share it with you. The Muppets Collection is one I have been pretty excited about since I first heard about it. The glitters look all kinds of amazing, I saw them in person at CosmoProf and seriously had to stop myself from attempting to dump the display into my purse then making a run for it. I kind of wonder what would have happened if I had done that, like would they have tackled me to the ground and arrested me, or maybe Suzi would be like you go gir, you can keep them. I like the think the second option but knowing my luck that wouldn't have been the case haha. If you want to see pictures of the display I was so tempted to steal you can check them out in my CosmoProf Day 1 post!

China Glaze Haunting Halloween Collection 2011 Swatches!

Good Morning! Today I have for you guys China Glaze's Halloween 2011 Collection, the name of the collection is Haunting! I've been looking forward to this since I saw it at CosmoProf, needless to say the second I saw it on Victoria Nail Supply I bought most of it! China Glaze usually does my favorite Halloween Collections, I have a feeling that will be true for this year also, at least judging by the halloween polishes I already have. The Haunting Collection brings us 2 new glitters and  2 new cremes along with Black Mesh and Ghoulish Glow, which have previously been released. I ended up buying everything except for Black Mesh, I have enough black crack polish to last the rest of my life.

Zoya Pippa

Good Morning!! Hope you are all having a great Saturday so far! Today I have for you guys Zoya Pippa. I just recently bought this one in their last promo. It was on my list to get forever, I can't believe it took me so long! Pippa is a gorgeous bright sunny yellow. I love this polish! I actually wore it with the intention of doing nail art over it but that was a big fail. The formula on Pippa was pretty good for a yellow, it was a little bit streaky but it evened out really great! I used 2 1/2 coats, I say 2 1/2 because most nails were 2 coats but a couple needed a little more help.

Inspired Nails Hibiscus on Blue + a coupon code!!

Good Morning guys, happy Friday!!! Anyone have fun plans this weekend? I do! Tonight I'm going to see one of my favorite bands Motion City Soundtrack then tomorrow I'm going to go see 311 yay! I like fun concert packed weekends like this one!

Today I have for you guys something I have never tried before...water decals! These are from a new to me company called Inspired Nails, they make full nail water decals and a bunch of other fun stuff. I was kind of scared to try these because I really had no idea what the heck I was doing. I think the result for my first time is pretty good! To use these all you do is paint your nails normally with whatever color you want, they recommend a light base (I used white), the color you choose and the finish of the base polish will affect how the decal looks once you put it on. Once your base color is completely dry you cut out your decal (which really was the hardest part for me), you put it in water for a few seconds the slide off a backing paper and put it on your nail. After you get it positioned on your nail you put on a coat of top coat and the decal kind of melts and fuses with your base polish.

My main problem was that I kept cutting the decals too wide, I don't know why...just a learning curve I guess. But it would cause them to wrinkle a little. It's way more noticeable in the pictures. In person you couldn't see it unless you were up close looking for it. Overall I really like these, they were quick and easy to do and Inspired Nails has some awesome designs. The one today is called Hibiscus on Blue. I got some fantastical looking peacock feather ones I cannot wait to try out!

Hopefully you guys like these too, if you do I have a coupon code for you!! Head over to   and use the code PolishAholic15 good for 15% off your order through 10/31/11. Cannot be used with any other discount codes or when using a voucher purchased at a discount.

My skin looks weird in these pictures, not sure why..but it's freaking me out. Hopefully it won't freak you out too :D

Inspired Nails can be purchased at,  Full Nail Water Decals are $10.

OPI Serena Williams Grand Slam! US Swatches

Good Morning!! Hope everyone had a good night, I did! Today I have for you guys the final duo in OPI's partnership with Serena Williams. This final Grand Slam duo is for the US Open in New York! I have to say, I'm kinda sad this is the last of these duo's. I have really loved a lot of the polishes OPI has done with Serena, these last two are no exception!

Love Is A Racket is a gorgeous cherry red with flakes of glitter sprinkled throughout. This color is so gorgeous, my pictures do it no justice. The glitter in this is great but hard to get on camera. If you like red you will love this, if you don't like red you will probably still love it! Love Is A Racket went on a little bit sheer, I needed 3 coats for full opacity.

Pros & Bronze is hard to describe it's an explosion of gold, pink, copper and bronze glitter. I'm sure there are even more shades of glitter in there but those are the most dominant ones. When I saw this at CosmoProf I think my heart skipped a beat, it is gorgeous! This polish is such a chameleon, depending on how your hand is it goes to the gold side, sometimes there is a strong pink flash or a coppery flash. I love polishes like this! Unfortunately for me, I'm not sure if this polish loves me back. It looks a little funky on my skin tone, but you know what? I don't even care, it's so gorgeous I'll wear it anyway! I used 3 coats of Pros & Bronze for the photos below.

Glam Slam! U.S. will be available beginning August 2011 at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for $14.95 ($20.95 CAN) suggested retail for each duo-pack.

I know these are out and available now, I spotted them at my local Ulta about a week ago!

Illamsqua Raindrops

Good morning guys!! Happy Tuesday! I'm in a surprisingly good mood today, which is like the total opposite of how I was yesterday haha!

Today I have for you guys a polish I wanted for a looooooong time but it was very expensive since it was not available here. Illamasqua Raindrops!! This is one of the Illamasqua polishes that never came over here to the states and as much as I loved it I couldn't justify the price. Then a couple weeks ago I noticed it was on sale on Illamasqua's website, still expensive after shipping though.

Raindrops is a light blue toned grey with flakes of silver glitter floating throughout it. I love this polish so much! It's a gorgeous grey but that silver glitter adds something so special to it. It's pretty sheer but I am happy with how it looks after 3 coats. I am SO glad I sucked it up and got this polish finally!

I bought this on Illamasqua's website, it's currently part of their summer sale...not sure how long that goes on for though!

SpaRitual In Pink 2011 Breast Cancer Awareness polishes!

Good Morning!! Hope everyone is having  good Saturday so far! I am, but I just woke up haha! Last night I picked my parents up from the Fair, they went to see a concert I got them tickets to for my Dad's birthday....they brought me back a funnel cake. YUM can I just say, I love funnel cake....actually I love pretty much any kind of fair food! They went and saw Chicago a few week ago (also at the Fair) and brought me back chocolate covered bacon, that was SO delicious, I know it sounds gross but no, it was amazing haha!

Today I have for you guys the 3 polishes SpaRitual has out this year for Breast Cancer Awareness called the In Pink Collection. A part of the proceeds from this collection are donated to a great charity called Cancer Schmancer!

Strength is a gorgeous pink foil with a golden shimmer. It does remind me a lot of OPI Rally Pretty Pink and Zoya Faye. I haven't had a chance to compare them yet but I think this might be a little bit darker of a pink. The formula was a little sheer but so gorgeous built up, I used 3 coats for the photos below. Even though I feel like I've seen this before I still love it, I can't get enough of the shades like this that have become popular this year!

Clarity is a rosy pink glitter in a clear base. I loooooove this, it would most definitely be best for layering but I did my best to build it up, I'm happy with the result! This was sparkly like whoa, so sparkly that I couldn't even take sun pictures of it! I used 4 coats of Clarity for the photos below, there were still some patchy spot but it wasn't noticeable in real life. Next time I wear this I'll be layering it, I think it will be beautiful! Both photos are in the shade!

Knowledge is a rosy pink glitter mixed with gold and holographic glitter. This is all sorts of amazing, my pictures do it zero justice, this is one you will need to see for yourself to understand how great it is! This was a bit more opaque than Clarity, I used 3 coats for the photos below. This was so hard to photograph, the sun was washing it out a bit but the holographic glitter pieces wouldn't come out to play in the shade. If I could only have 1 from this collection I would pick this one!

These polishes should be available starting September 1st, you can find a store locater on I thought these were on Apothica already, but it looks like they still have up last year's In Pink polishes :(

Lex Cosmetics Lucky Girls

Good morning guys!! Happy Friday woohoo! Anyone have fun plans this weekend? I sure don't, I'm way more excited for next weekend and the weekend after but I'll tell you about those when the time comes!!

Before I get into my post today I wanted to let you guys know that I did a guest post which is up today over at Kellie Gonzo's blog. Kellie is one of my favorite people ever so I'm super stoked to get to do something for her. The post is awesome decals from Sephora, trust me you want to go check them out! You can get to the post by clicking here!

Today for you guys I have a gorgeous pink polish from Lex Cosmetics called Lucky Girls. Can I just say, I LOVE this shade of really is like the perfect barbie kind of color. When I got my package with this polish there was a cute note from Lex inside saying that this is a great summer color, especially when you're tan...she is so right! I'm not even tan but it makes me look like I am, I love that! Not only is this color beautiful but part of the proceeds go to a great charity...more on that at the bottom of the post! The formula on this was good, a little streaky though so I used 3 coats to even it all out!

Lucky Girls can be purchased at it retails for $10 a bottle. $3 from each bottle sold is donated to the Greek Orthodox Orphanage in Kolkata, India. If you're like me and haven't heard of the Greek Orthodox Orphanage you can read more about it here:
