OPI Pink Shatter

Good Morning guys!! Happy Tuesday! Hope everyone had a nice long weekend, I did! Yesterday I pretty much stayed in bed and watched Criminal Minds for like 8 hours. Talk about an ultimate lazy day haha!

Today I have for you guys Pink Shatter from OPI, this is the Pink of Hearts polish for Breast Cancer Awareness this year! I kept waffling back and forth about this because on one hand I am extremely sick of crack polish...on the other I really like this shade of pink shatter. Overall, after putting it on I really like it! It cracked really well and is a gorgeous hot pink! It's a bit brighter  than my photos look...it was hard to capture it because of how bright it is! There is a very subtle shimmer in it as well, I was a little worried about that because the shimmery crack polishes haven't seemed to work very well but this one was great! My only issue with this is that it's a little thin so over darker colors it doesn't show up very well. I originally swatched it over a medium purple and you couldn't tell the shatter was pink.

I used 1 coat of Pink Shatter over Orly Au Champagne for the photos below!

The limited edition Pink Shatter: Pink of Hearts will be available throughout the months of September and October 2011 at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for $8.50 ($10.95 CAN) suggested retail for each Nail Lacquer.

I found my bottle at a local beauty supply store, I'm not sure if it's out at Ulta yet or not...I haven't checked there. If it's not out yet it should be soon!

  1. Very nice! I love the Silver Shatter, I'm a bit obsessed with it, but have yet to foray into the colored shatters yet.

And of course this is for a great cause :-)

  4. I love this one, jumped on it as soon as it showed up on Ebay. I haven't bought many shatter polishes, because it takes a lot for a shatter to please me, but this one had to be part of it!! I agree that the thinness is a problem, though I managed to have it show on black by applying two coats; since it's so thin, it does shatter with the second coat as well... But my favourite manucure was alternating zoya trixie with Pink Shatter and OPI Come to Poppy with Silver Shatter!!

  7. I don't think I will be a big fan of this one even though it looks great on you. But I will likely buy it for the support factor, and also just to have it :)

  11. I happened to find this when I was on vacation in Oregon. I put it over Revlon's Starry Pink. Love Criminal Minds! Yesterday, my daughter & I watched Titanic for the 20th time.

  12. This cracked so perfectly! I love when the crack leaves lots of space for the under-polish to show through. <3

  13. What a coincidence! I just had my nails done (before I read your blog) with Orly Pure Porcelain and China Glaze Broken Hearted. It looks the same as your swatches!

  15. OK, now can we call the shatter/crackles done with? I respect those who like the look. I just happen to be not in that camp. Looks messy. I however, am a huge supporter of OPI's every Sept/Oct pink release in recognition of breast cancer awareness.

  16. I love Criminal Minds! What a great show.

The color of this is pretty similar to China Glaze Broken Hearted, but the CG doesn't have shimmer. On the other hand, it's opaque enough to wear over darker polishes, so it's a toss up as to which is better as far as I'm concerned.
