Good morning! I'm so excited for today! I'm going to see two of my favorite bands live tonight...Bayside and Saves The Day! I've seen both bands live more times than I can count but it never stops being fun...I'm such a concert junkie. Nail polish and music...those are my two drugs lol!
I'm also excited because I have the China Glaze Eye Candy Collection for you today! When I saw these at Cosmoprof I think my heart skipped a beat... I love a good glitter and these looked like they were amazing! What I really love about this is the Marilyn Monroe theme and of course that China Glaze brought back the silver caps for this collection! I found this the other day by accident, I was going to my usual set of supply stores looking for Essie Luxeffects. There is one store that will just randomly have polishes from the China Glaze OMG Collection so I always check the silver capped polishes to see what they are. I think I literally screamed a little when I noticed what these were. They were all just mixed into the display that this place has all their core colors in! I think the lady at the counter thought I was nuts...not gonna lie, I am...most people just don't usually witness that!
Enough of my rambling...I have a ton of pictures for you guys after the jump!
Click the Read More button below for more pictures and reviews of each shade!
Before I start I wanted to mention a few things so I don't have to say them over and over. All swatches are 3 coats, these were all on the sheer side but 3 coats was opaque enough for me! All but 2 pictures (that are labeled) are in the shade, I tried to photo these in the sun and my camera just wasn't having it. They all looked like big blurs of pretty light haha! I have a top coat on over all of these, they needed it. They didn't try dull but they weren't super shiny either.
Blonde Bombshell is a mix of gold glitter, there is some small glitter, some hex glitter and a little bit of small bar glitter thrown in there too. It's an interesting mix. I'm kind of one the fence with this one...I feel like a broken record over here lately but I'm just not a huge fan of gold. Next time I wear this I think I'll put it over black! Formula wise this was on the thin side and easy to work with and build up.
Lorelei's Tiara is small silver glitter mixed with medium sized bright blue hex glitter. This was one of my favorites in the bottle and on the nail. I really love this mix of glitter, it screams winter to me...like I want to wear this and build a snowman or something (because I'm weird like that). Too bad it doesn't snow where I live :( If I visit the snow this year you best bet this will be on my fingers! The formula was good on this too, sheer but easy to work with and build up.
Love Marilyn is small red glitter and medium silver glitter. Oh my gorgeous! This is my favorite of the collection...it reminds me of Minnie Mouse for some reason! This was one of the more sheer shades...you can see some bald spots but it really doesn't bother me. I really don't have much to say about this other than I love it!
Marry A Millionaire is a crazy mix of glitter...so much going on here. There is small pink and purple glitter along with a a truck load of multicolored bar glitter. I tried to like this, it's just crazy enough that it's right...but I just don't :( This was the most sheer of the bunch, I think I will like this better layered...it will give the different glitters a better chance to pop.
Material Girl is a pink glitter bomb! there is a whole lot going on here, small glitter...hex glitter. Little bits of holographic hex glitter is mixed in there also, I could see it in person but no matter how many pictures I took it would not show in my photos! Formula wise, this sucked. I really hope I just got a bad bottle or something...it was like trying to apply glue. Even with it being super thick as it was it was still on the sheer side.
Some Like It Haute is small black and silver glitter mixed with medium sized holographic glitter. It reminds me of Orly Rock Solid but they aren't even close to be dupes. I love how much the larger glitter shows up in this! Formula wise this was on the thin easy to work with side!
I'm not sure when these will be available in stores like Ulta or Sally Beauty Supply. All the stuff I have from Cosmoprof says November. Since they are already at my supply place I would assume they'll be out soon, at least on the etailers if not in regular stores!

OOH OMG! I need these especially Marry A Millionaire,Some Like It Haute, & Love Marilyn ..who am I kidding I want them all. lol
ReplyDeleteI love all of them but I think Marry A Millionaire is my favourite!
ReplyDeleteEver since these were revealed, I've been in love with them just from seeing them in the bottle. Now, after seeing the swatches, I love them even more. I love all of them, and that usually doesn't happen. I would easily wear any one of them. I think my favorites are Love Marilyn and Lorelei's Tiara. They're all so gorgeous, though.
ReplyDeleteI think there's something wrong with me. I just don't care for any of these :/
ReplyDeleteAwesome swatches! Can't wait to find these guys!
ReplyDeleteThey are ALL amazing! ♥
ReplyDeleteACK! Bar Glitter. Hairy nails. Noooooo... I was so excited for this collection but I just can't get down with bar glitter. I'll get Lorelei's Tiara, Love Marilyn, and Some Like it Haute. Great swatches!
ReplyDeleteOmg concerts and nails polish are my two fave things... kindred spirits? lol
ReplyDeleteI saw a bit of Bayside when they came down to Australia earlier this year, that guy has an incredible voice. Anyway Love Marilyn, watta polish!
I love Some Like It Haute, Lorelies Tiara and Material Girl! Great swatches!
ReplyDeletesometimes i wonder how crazy we look when we go into that utter bliss moment, hah would be funny to watch. Great Find and Great Swatches!
ReplyDeleteLove Marilyn also reminded me of Minnie Mouse! That's the first thing I thought of when I saw it. That is the only one in this collection that is really calling my name, though they are all very pretty!
ReplyDeleteWOW!!! I love them all!
ReplyDeletedont worry im sure i'll get excited like you when i see these in stores. hhahhaaa the other day when i saw swatches of these i thought for sure id get blonde bombshell however no one mention the bar glitter! YUKS! i just cant do it(they look like hairs!) ..its a shame because im really digging gold right now . LOL Material Girl will the one i grab first ..i just hope i dont get bad formula like you did LOL .. thanks for posting these!!
ReplyDeleteMaterial Girl is my fav!!! great swatches
ReplyDeleteThe bar glitter in Blonde Bombshell is pretty tiny...you might like it once you see it in real life! I hope you get a good bottle of Material Girl also..mine was horrible lol!
ReplyDeleteyay! Glad you like them!
ReplyDeletelol I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Minnie Mouse about Love Marilyn!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure I look crazy all the time when I find stuff I'm looking for...i don't even care anymore lol!!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeletewow! It's rare to find another person who even knows who Bayside is! I love Anthony's voice...I'm pretty sure he could sing the phone book and I'd be all *swoon* LOL!
ReplyDeleteLOL, good thing it's only in 2 of them!
ReplyDeleteglad you like them!
ReplyDeletethanks!
ReplyDelete:( they might grow on you!
ReplyDeleteyay!! I'm glad you love them, they are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteMarry A Millionaire is all kinds of crazy! Glad you like it!
ReplyDeletelol! this sounds like the conversation I had with myself as I was buying these
ReplyDeletelove this collection! im going to go broke because of you lol...great blog
ReplyDeletethanks!!
ReplyDeletelol!! sorry! I am such an enabler lately!
ReplyDelete<3 Marry a Millionaire!!
ReplyDeleteAaah so many good ones!! :)
ReplyDeleteFantastic swatch photos! Okay I'm not a fan of bar glitter, however China Glaze seems to have really small bar glitter so maybe it would be okay. Blonde Bombshell would be a good neutral yet sparkly color for me. Ha and I can't pass up a Minnie Mouse glitter - I totally see that! And a nice January polish would be Lorelei's Tiara. Marry A Millionaire kind of looks like a Mardi Gras mix. Shoot, I've been limiting myself to buying one bottle of polish per week but I think if I saw these at the store I would get all that I wanted at once! Hmm, maybe if I walk over I can reward myself...
ReplyDeleteWow! These are some great glitters! I need Blonde Bombshell, Marry a Millionaire and Material Girl!
ReplyDeleteWow I need Blonde Bombshell, Marry a Millionaire and Material Girl stat!
ReplyDeleteWhich supply store did you find these at? My sis wants these desperately and her birthday is coming up and I'd LOVE to have them for her before she even knew what hit her! And stash a few for myself... ;)
ReplyDeleteDamn! and here I thought I was not going to buy anymore nail polish. I am going to have to save. They're so pretty I want them all.
ReplyDeletesorry...not posting the name. I'm sure they will be online soon!
ReplyDeleteI want them all!
ReplyDeleteLove Marilyn reminds me of Christmas! If I didn't just buy the red glitter from the Wet N Wild Ice Baby collection, I would so get this to wear for the holidays. I also love Some Like it Haute! That's probably my fave from this collection. Thanks for the swatches! :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw "Bayside" and "Saves the Day" I had to make sure I was on a nail blog...haha. I LOVE Bayside, and Saves the Day brings me back to middle/high school...wow. anyway, it's amazing how many combinations of hex + small glitter companies can dish out! I love the look of most of these, but they must be a PAIN to remove right, even with foil?
ReplyDeleteLOL! I'm glad I'm not the only one who loves these bands! Saves The Day takes me back to high school also. I listened to their Through Being Cool album every single day walking to school my Junior Year of high school!
ReplyDeleteI love all the mixes of hex glitter were getting this year, it's fun!! Definitely crappy removal though...lots of tin foil was used this weekend when I swatched these lol!
Must not get sucked innnnnn............. you made me want them all, but Marry a Millionaire Its hairy glitter, I'm scared of hairy glitter. Awesome swatches!! :)
ReplyDeleteembrace the hairy glitter Robyn!! lol!
ReplyDeleteOh my!!! I love them <3
ReplyDeleteI think I need all except the gold and the pink. Gold doesn't suit me and I have an Essence polish that is very close to the one pictured.
Beautiful swatches as always :)
Dear God I think I just had a polishgasm :0) I want almost all of them!! Wow..just wow.
ReplyDeleteI love the shape of your nails.... *jealous*
good one Jen! i know u say it because you like bar glitter.!! hahah jkn' ! but your right i might change my mind once i see it in person :)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe these words are coming out of my mouth (off my fingertips...?) but I DON'T like these! I love all things glitter but there's something about the "hairy glitter" like someone said and the crinkled-and-then-flattened-back-out-tin-foil like finish of the silver glitter but it just doesn't do anything for me. Maybe if I see it in the stores I'll change my mind but... idk... I just don't like it. Am I a nail glitter trader?? haha. Love all your pics and your site, it's one of my favorites. :) Oh- and another weird thing is that it looks like these are kinda CGs version of the Muppet glitters (which I LOVE) but I still don't like them. Sad.
ReplyDeleteSilver Caps? Some blogs have the regular black cap for these.. o.o
ReplyDeleteYeah, I usually listen to a lot heavier music than them but I really liked their latest album, LOVE Already Gone and Sick, Sick, Sick.
ReplyDeleteThere's this weird sound behind me... Oh, it's my husband, crying because our wallet just broke. ^_^ <3 Lorelei's Tiara, Material girl and Some Like It Haute! Thanks for the beautiful swatches & pics! One day, these will be mine! LOL
ReplyDeleteMaterial Girl is gorgeous! And of course I would like the one that's a pain in the ass to apply, haha! Great swatches as always, and I can't wait to see some of these over black! It seems like black polish and glitter polish are a natural match. :p
ReplyDeletei don't like them either.what a shocker...get the hairy glitter idea lol lools a little like sully the monster from disney's monster inc :) The red slvr glitter is indeed a lookalike for opi's gettin miss piggy with it...oh well moving on to the next collection :)
ReplyDeletelol that's hilarious :) good for you tough
ReplyDeleteCrystal
ONG! There is not one here I don't absolutely have to get when they finally hit my Sally's. I think these are going to be nearly as big as the Kaleidoscope and OMG collections were for CG.
ReplyDeleteOh and I forgot to add - you got AMAZING shots of these for us - thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteYes I am definitely going to be caving in on these! I can't resist glitter!
ReplyDeleteLove Marilyn looks like a dupe of Getting Piggy with it from OPI's Muppet collect. And Some Like it Haute looks like one the new WetNWild Ice Baby Collection (Diamond in the Rough). So at least there are options!
ReplyDeleteI like Some Like it Haute!! It must have taken forever for you to do these swatches, so much glitter to remove!
ReplyDeleteWow! Love these! And I'm right there with you on Love Marilyn; it reminds me of Minnie Mouse too. Hopefully I'll be able to find these. :)
ReplyDeleteLove Marilyn is quite pretty! Will be looking for this in stores. November, right???
ReplyDeleteyep, November as far as know but don't quote me on it :)
ReplyDeletewhat the trick to take off the sparkle nail polish
ReplyDeleteTin Foil! There is a great tutorial I linked below!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.pinksith.com/2010/03/glitter-nail-polish-removal-made-simple.html
Some like it Haute is gorgeous but Marry a Millionaire is a lemming like I've NEVER had before. That's just so darned cool!
ReplyDeleteOPI Miss Piggy with It, and Wet N Wild Diamond in the Rough. Look like dupes for the two above (Love Marilyn and Some Like it Haute)
ReplyDeleteI can't speak to how the Wet N WIld compares as I don't own it but OPI Gettin Miss Piggy With It is not a dupe to Love Marilyn, it's similar but not as opaque and the glitter is different sizes. Love Marilyn is much better, IMO! :)
ReplyDeleteGlitterbombs away! I love all of them.
ReplyDeleteI love all of these! It seems like there are a lot of glitter collections coming out and I LOVE it! :)
ReplyDeleteI just compared these too and Diamond in the Rough is pretty much an exact dupe for Some Like it Haute. WNW might be a teeny bit darker, but its not very apparent on the nail.
ReplyDeleteI got mine at Sally (they had hid them among the other China Glaze holiday collection so I'm glad I went and looked). My Love Marilyn has a black cap, but the Lorelei's Tiara and Some Like it Haute had silver tops.
ReplyDeleteSome like it Haute is my favourite! Don't know if I will ever like bar glitter, I accidentally bought one recently, it didn't look like bar glitter in the picture. I wish I could find more of these brands in stores here in Australia and not have to pay $20 each!
ReplyDeleteMy Material Girl was also super gloopy and thick! I tried adding thinner but it did not help...such a shame because it is such a pretty color!!!
ReplyDeleteI picked up Love Marilyn and Some Like It Haute, both were great! except for removal.. now looking for Lorelei's Tiara, i do not really care about the gold and pink ones. Marry a Millionaire is interesting, never seen this mix of glitter before, but i won't be picking it up.
ReplyDeleteThis colors are soooooooooooo pretty!!!!!!!! I think i am going to order Marry A Millionaire and Blonde
ReplyDeleteBombshell!! Btw do you remove all the polishes because it would take forever
i own this whole collection, but havent had a chance to use them yet. i was wondering, you say material girl is a bit thick... is it possible to add nail polish thinner to fix it, or wont that work? thanks!
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried thinner but it might help! Not sure how much though since it's such a dense glitter polish
ReplyDeleteThe polishes are amazing... But how did you remove it?
ReplyDeleteJust regular nail polish remover, it wasn't easy!
ReplyDeleteLorelei's Tiara and Material Girl are totally on my list now. My husband is going to kill me next time I get on TransDesign.
ReplyDeleteI want these all so badly! I am definitly going to look hardcore for love marilyn! Thanks for this post!
