L'Oréal Owl's Night

Good morning guys! TGIF! Anyone have fun plans this weekend? I'm going to see New Found Glory tonight in Los Angeles then I'm going to a craft fair kind of thing this weekend. It should be fun! I'm super excited about the concert tonight, I don't go to LA too much for shows but it's always fun (once I get past the cost for parking lol). I kind of love West Hollywood which is the part of LA I go to a lot of concerts in, if I were rich I think I'd live there....I'd only live there part of the time though. My reasoning for only part of the time is because people there are freaking weird...which is also why I love it so much. The rest of my time I think I'd spend in Portland Oregon, I've always loved it there.

Today I have for you guys a polish that has been getting lots of buzz on blogs, L'Oréal Owl's Night. This is part of the Project Runway Collection that has recently popped up at drugstores around here. I only looked at the display because I have been obsessed with Project Runway since the show started, I didn't expect to find this gorgeous polish! There were a few other polishes along with some pretty makeup but this was all I ended up buying. Owl's Night is hard to describe. It's got a kind of smokey brown base with a gorgeous golden shimmer that looks almost green at certain angles....there is also little bits of reddish shimmer peeking through. I've heard this is a dupe for Sally Hansen Sequin Scandal, but I don't see the similarity to be honest...maybe I just need to swatch them side by side but I remember the Sally Hansen being much more green. Anyway, the formula on this was as fabulous as the color. I used 2 coats for the photos below!

I've seen this display at Walgreens and Rite Aid. Ulta should have these soon (if not already), I saw it in the last ad I got in the mail from them. I haven't been to my local Ulta recently so I'm not sure if they are out yet or not. I hope you can all find this, L'Oréal is notorious for putting only 2 of each polish in their display so they go fast! Best Blogger Tips

  8. Ulta had them before the drug stores did.  Only issue is there are only 2 polishes of each in the display so if you don't get there when they get the shipment in, it's gone! I ordered mine online from Ulta and then they started showing up in Walgreens.  I love Owl's Night.  Definitely my favorite of the bunch.  Good luck to everyone in finding it!

Pretty, seems this fall is the year of the antique bronze. Would you  mind doing a comparison of this with OPI Warm and Fozzie and Color Club Nouveau Vintage please? (and any others you find that may fit here)...I see a trend. :)

  11. After going to target & one cvs, I decided to call places, haha. And after trying 2 walgreens and 1 rire aid, I finally found it at rite aid. It's absolutely gorgeous, so much so I decided to return butter LONDON wallis bc I thought owl's night was wayyyy prettier.

  13. You can buy this collection online at Ulta:

I've seen this collection alllll over the place while out hunting for other polish so I got Owl's Night a few weeks ago now. I don't think it looks that similar to Nouveau Vintage which has a burgandy-ish base--what it does look more similar to on the nail is MAC Seriously Hip. I also got Raven's Night and I was surprised to see that it looks very similar to Chanel Steel from last fall's Soho collection. The formula isn't as good as the Chanel, but obviously it's 1/5th the price (maybe cheaper, these have been on sale a lot)!

I was in 4 or 5 stores (looking for other things) before I finally found a display that still had a bottle of this color in stock! Loving it.

I was kicking myself because I was almost positive that I passed up purchasing it the first time I saw it in stores, and then I couldn't find it again when I realized my mistake!

  47. Thanks for the swatch.  I finally found it in Canada.  I bought and I realized it's similar to my Dior Or Tsarine Czarina Gold, which was LE last year, but a little darker and a bit more sparkley but over more or less similar.  Now I have a simliar dupe.  Very happy and it's a lot cheaper too.  :)
