Nicole by OPI Kardashian Collection Swatches!

Hi guys! Happy Monday! Today I have a mega post for you, it's probably one of the most picture heavy posts I've done! The reason why is that I have the whole Kardashian Collection from Nicole by OPI for you! This collection is a pretty large one consisting of 14 new shades, it's a mixed bag of cremes, shimmers and glitters. Color wise it's all over the place, so there is a little something for everyone!

For a ton of pictures and reviews of each shade click the Read More button below!

All Kendall-ed Up is a bright hot pink creme. Color wise it's not very unique but I love a good hot pink...this makes me want summer back! The formula was pretty good, I used 2 coats for full opacity.

Disco Dolls is golden glitter bomb! It's packed with small gold glitter and larger multicolored hex glitter. I really like this, it different and crazy! I kind of feel like I'm wearing a party on my nails! It reminds me of what Deborah Lippmann did with Forget You and Candy Shop except with a glitter base instead of a jelly base. The formula was good, thick but easy to work with. I used 2 coats for full opacity. It dried a little bit dull and with texture, if you want this smooth you're going to need a couple coats of a thick top coat like Seche Vite.

Shade

Follow Me On Glitter is a charcoal grey version of Disco Dolls above. It's got the same mix of multicolored hex glitter but the base is a mixture of small black and silver glitter. I like this one a bit better than Disco Dolls only because gold isn't my favorite thing to wear. This is a little bit more subtle...for lack of a better way to describe it. Formula wise it's the same as Disco Dolls! I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Shade

Hard Kourt Fashionista is a rich dark brown. I adore this one, I am such a sucker for a good brown, it looks like I melted chocolate on my nails! The formula was good, the first coat went on a bit streaky but the second coat was like butter! I used 2 coats for the photos below.

It's All About The Glam is a shimmery white. In the bottle the shimmer looked blue and pink but the color of the shimmer doesn't really pop once you get it on the nail. I really like this one, it feels very holiday-ish to me. Formula wise it was a bit sheer but it built up beautifully in 3 coats!

Kendall On The Katwalk is blue, green and purple glitter in a sheer navy base. This polish is WHOA! I saw it in the bottle and hoped it would translate onto the nail looking half as amazing! This is easily my favorite of the collection, the mix of glitter is gorgeous and so interesting to look at! This one was also a bit sheer, I used 3 coats. It was not fun to remove but it was SO worth it! It dried a bit dull and with texture like the previous glitters. Try not to drool when you get down to the close up below haha!

Shade

Khloé Had A Little Lam-Lam is a dark blue/green creme. No surprise, I love this! What can I say, I'm a sucker for teal. I'm actually wearing this with a coat of Kendall On The Katwalk over it right now, it's pretty much amazing. The formula was really great, almost a one coater! I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Kim-pletely In Love is a light baby pink with blue and green shimmer. This is a surprise favorite for me, in the bottle it was fab but I thought I probably wouldn't like it on. Wrong, it's amazing on. The shimmer is really pretty in this, it does a bit of a disappearing act in low light though. This is a great work neutral shade with a little something special in it. It was a bit sheer, no surprise there but I only needed 3 coats for full opacity...I expected to need at least 4.

Kourt Is Red-y For A Pedi is a bright orangey red creme, almost a jelly...it's walking that line between the two. While I do like this shade red, not a one I would usually grab for. The formula was good, it was a bit sheer...it looked pretty good at 2 coats but I could still see VNL (Visible Nail Line) so I did a 3rd coat for the photos below. I love how shiny this dried!

Listen To Your Momager is a bright sparkling blue! It has a dark blue jelly base with blue microglitter mixed in. It's like a lighter/brighter version of Sue Vs. Shue which was part of the Glee Collection Sephora by OPI put out earlier this year. The formula was great on this one, 2 cots for full opacity!

My Empire...My Rules is a warm taupe brown. Definitely not unique by any means but who doesn't love a nice taupe right?!? the formula was really nice with this one, I used 2 coats for full opacity.

Rainbow In The S-Kylie is a glitter bomb! It's a mix of small multicolored glitter and larger multicolored hex glitter. I've heard it's a dupe to Rainbow Connection from The Muppets Collection from OPI...since I don't have that yet I have no idea if it is. Either way I feel like I already own this many times over. Pretty nonetheless, I will never tire of glitter like this! I used 1 coat of Rainbow In The S-Kylie over It's All About The Glam for the photos below. It was a little hard to work with...the glitter didn't want to spread...all the bigger piece of hex glitter kept wanting to get all clumped together in one spot.

Shade

Sealed With A Kris is a blue toned red creme. This one is a lot like Kourt Is Red-y For A Pedi, it's walking that same line between a creme and a jelly. This kind of red is what I tend to gravitate towards more, I don't even wear red polish that much but I always seem to love ones this shade. The formula was great, a little sheer at first but I only needed 2 coats for full opacity.

Wear Something Spar-Kylie is a glittery pink! It's a very light rosy pink base packed with silver and pink glitter. It's like the pink little sister to OPI DS Bold haha! This shade is perfectly girly, I really like it! Formula wise it was good, a bit on the thick side but easy to apply. It was also nice and opaque I used 2 coats for the full opacity.

Overall I really like this collection, it's kind of all over the place but I think that's almost a good thing...there is something for everyone. My 2 favorites are Kendall On The Katwalk and Kim-pletely In Love! I also really enjoy how different Disco Dolls and Follow Me On Glitter are. I was very worried when I heard Kardashian in the name sentence as nail polish collection, but I think they did pretty well here!

Kardashian Kolors will be available Holiday 2011 for $7.99 each ($11.00 CAD). Last I heard the official date is November 1st (though the Nicole by OPI Facebook says November 25th, lets hope for 11/1!), so you should be seeing these on shelves very very soon!

  3. Great collection. I really like the glitters!

  4. I must be five...LOL! My eyes went RIGHT to Rainbow in the S-Kylie. Wow, that's purdy!

  5. Wow!  Thank you so much for doing this!  I know it's tons of work.  :o)  I'm excited about most of the glitters...just wish for the old Nicole brush back.  *sigh*

  6. I'm liking 4 of them.  Great pics!

  7. OPI must love the chunky multicolored glitter, because they used it in a few of these! LOL! I'm not complaining though, because I love it too! I probably won't end up getting any from this collection, but I do like Follow Me On Glitter and Khloe Had A Little Lam-Lam (if it didn't have such a ridiculous name, I'd end up getting this one for sure).

I'm looking at my bottle of Rainbow Connection, and that and Rainbow In The S-Kylie look similar, except RitS looks like it has bigger glitter. Hopefully someone can confirm!

Thank you so much for posting these for everyone! <3

  8. Love Khloe Had a Little Lamb and Kendall on the Katwalk (err, too many K's?)

  9. Gorgeous! I am especially in love with  "Kendall on the katwalk"

  10. Hmm...I think I'm only into the shimmery white and pink.  I don't even think I want any of the glitters!  Blasphemy!

    ReplyDelete
  11. i literally just logged into my blogger to see if you put these up! . hahahah i LOVE!!!!! all the glitters! Kendal on the Katwalk is definitely one of my favorites! if i didnt hate the bottle shape of NOPI i would prolly grab them all .. LOL do you mind the bottle shape? anywho! thanks for these beautiful swatches!

    ReplyDelete
  12. I'm not a huge fan of the bottles, they are a pain to store because of the shape. They don't bother me as much as they used to though!

  13. I love Rainbow In The S-Kylie because I'm a sucker for rainbow glitter polishes, but I'm not letting myself buy anymore-- I already have four different ones... I need to be cut off, lol!

  14. These are beautiful polishes, but I really only want a couple of them. I'm glad to see that there is something for everyone in this collection.

    ReplyDelete
  15. WOW! I don't know what to say! I think I like them all for very different reasons!  The jewel-toned cream finishes are amazing but I like the shimmers too!  The glitters are my kind of tacky and the names are amazing!  I will be running out to buy some!

  16. I would also like to add that I shared your post on MUA! :D

    ReplyDelete
  17. I think the Muppet Rainbow Connection is probably denser than Rainbow In The S-Kylie. Rainbow Connection is a bit too dense for layering IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I am so over the Moon with this collection! I cannot wait to see this in person. I think it's that mix of finishes that I love so much. There is a lot of diversity in this collection.

  22. RITS is definitely a nearly exact dupe of Rainbow Connection. Thanks for the tip on the double coats of Seche Vite, RC was very rough, this will fix the problem! I'm excited to see your swatches for the OPI Muppet series, I have three and love the colors! They can't keep them in stock at the beauty supply, very popular.

  23. Thanks! ♥

  24. Gorgeous! I am especially in love with  "Kendall on the katwalk"

  25. I have been DYING to see actual swatches of these!!! My favorites overall are Katwalk and Lam-Lam, but I actually love the reds from this collection (kollection? ;)) on you! :)

    ReplyDelete
  26. Awesome swatches, there are a few true pretties in this collection!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I LOVE Disco Dolls. That's definitely my favorite. I also really like Kim-pletely In Love, which is weird for me since I usually don't like light pinks. I love the shimmer in it, though.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Glitters are much nicer than I thought. Want many, must have the charcoal. That white is so much nicer than regular for things like a glitter or nail art base.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Thanks so much for sharing these, been dying to see them! I love all of them and can't wait to get my hands on some, hopefully they will be in out in about a week!

    ReplyDelete
  30. OMG, those glitters...!!!!  *drools*  Thanks for the amazing swatches!  How does 'Rainbow in the S-Kylie' compare to OPI 'Rainbow Connection'?

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'm not sure, sorry. I mentioned in the post that I don't have Rainbow Connection yet :)

    ReplyDelete
  32. I am so ashamed that I actually like more than one of these! Ugh, why must they be Kardashian? I could never let myself wear a polish named Kim-Pletely in Love but it's so pretty!!!

    ReplyDelete
  33. This is gonna sound so weird for me, but my favorite of these is Kim-pletely In Love. O_o I think it's gorgeous!

  34. I like this collection a lot more now seeing your swatches than I had just seeing the ads and the bottle shots. So many shades out now I want...but I certainly will pick up a few of this collection. Wondering how long they will be available. If OPI/Nicole is smart, they will keep some classic and just keep adding to the K line - the name is hot for marketing. If Nicole does not do it, then I could see the dash dolls going elsewhere and having their own polish line that has classics and new ones coming out a # of times per yr.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I want all the glitters that *aren't* Rainbow Connection.  lol  Great post!

  36. I realized that after I hit send... my coffee hadn't hit my brain yet.  >.<

  37. Ok, I can't believe I am lemming over a Kardashian polish LOL Your macros DO make me go nuts and pull out my spreadsheet to add polish names LOL

As for Rainbow Connection--that looks awfully close (I have it) AND it's a dupe for DL's Happy Birthday (as well as the much cheaper W&W Party of Five). But hey, I just figures it gives me a little glitter to franken with ;)

    Thanks for the swatches!!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Amazing swatches Jen! I can't believe I like so many of these though! The initial promo pics left me feeling so underwhelmed, then POW! After seeing the swatches it's going to be hard for me to resist picking a few of these up. ;p

    ReplyDelete
  39. Thanks Rie ♥ glitter is an evil monster that creates lemmings!

  40. I just looooove your nails! The length is what I wish I could have. Gorgeous!!!

  41. OMG! I've been dying to see swatches of this collection and I've finally found this post! Loved your blog, already subscribed to it by email! have a great w-end!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Wow! I love your swatches! I actually saw these at my local Walmart YESTERDAY (10/27) so maybe the release date IS Nov. 1st. People looking for them should go check out Walmart and maybe they'll get lucky! :)

    ReplyDelete
  43. Saw these at Walmart Saturday (10/29/11) night and picked up "Kim-pleately in Love". I haven't tried it out yet but I really love that its a soft pink with a little bit of jazzy-ness to it (the blue/green sparkle). This is my first Nichole by OPI polish so I hope it doesn't let me down!!!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I'm not impressed with any of these.  They all seem a bit "been there, done that" and/or are dupes of other polishes.  None of them are very original or unique.  That's sad .. I was hoping to like at least ONE of them!  Oh well.  Thanks for sharing though!  :)

  45. I’d love for you to do a swatch comparison of Rainbow Connection from OPI’s Muppets collection, Rainbow in the S-Kylie from Nicole by OPI’s Kardashian collection and the Spark-tacular top coat from Sephora by OPI. They all look so similar, and some are definitely easier to find than others. Love your blog!

    ReplyDelete
  46. The comparison is coming soon, I promise! :)

    ReplyDelete
  47. I just bought Follow me on Glitter, and it's honestly the worst nail polish for chipping I have ever come across! I'm sure the other glitter polishes are the same, since it's the same formula. You literally can't even get a full day out of it without it chipping. My advice, Skip on the Glitter polishes unless you like re-applying your nail polish daily.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I'm sorry it wears that way on you, it wears really well on me. I've worn it and the other glitters from the collection for 3 or 4 days with zero chipping. Maybe you need to try a different top and base coat combination.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I have about 5 of these shades & adore 'Kendal on katwalk', 'wear something spar-kylie' and even 'follow me on glitter'. However, I am shocked at the way these chip on my nails right on the next day of application! Usually, I have had no complaints about quality of Nicole by OPI or OPI as well. Though I wonder if the glittery ones are more prone to chipping..

    ReplyDelete
  50. I haven't had a problem with them chipping faster than any other kinds of polish on me but everything wears differently for different people. I would try them with a different top coat and see if that helps!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Thanks a lot. I was actually disappointed at how these chipped, almost like a brittle glass! Had to remove it completely as I was wary about chunks of nail pain ending up in food while I was cooking! Could you suggest me any top coat specifically? Which enhances the staying power more- top or base coat? Thanks again!

    ReplyDelete
  52. For me is usually the top coat the makes the difference. I really love Sally Hansen Insta Dri and China Glaze Fastforward. I love Seche Vite also but it's what usually makes polish pop off or chip (for me). My go-to base coats lately are Nubar Foundation and CND Stickey. I hope one of these works for you, it's such a bummer when you get a polish you like and it wears like crap on you :(

    ReplyDelete
  53. I have rainbow in the S=Kylie...love it!!

    ReplyDelete
  54. I want Khloe had a little Lam Lam & Wear something Spar-Kylie. I have Listen to Your Momager! because I just had to have it. I love it.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I have every color except for khloe had a little Lam Lam. I couldn't believe after tax I spent close to $100 on this nail polish. I love the new colors the Kardashians just released at CVS Pharmacy. I purchased; Ladies in the limelight, One big happy fame-lly, and Back to reality & TV.. they are gorgeous. They also have smile for the glamera and our fushia's looking bright.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I have Kendall on the Katwalk, and it's gorgeous! I might want to buy Kim-pletely in love as well. I was just wondering what kind of camera you use to take pictures of your nails? It seems to have a fantastic zoom!

Also, though this has nothing to do with the Nicole brand, I suggest swatching Ulta's salon formula Femme Fatale. It's such a beautiful color and it applied like a dream for me!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Rainbow in the S-Kylie is indeed an exact dupe of Rainbow Connection. Sephora by OPI also had a dupe at one time. This really irks me because I wouldn't have rushed out to get it so quickly and have since made sure to do lots of research before buying OPI polishes.

    ReplyDelete
  58. My drugstore JUST got these. Behind the times much, rexall? haha

    ReplyDelete
  59. Disco dolls is pretty, but I didn't find it thick at all. I used 4 coats and it's still not totally opaque. And 3 coats of topcoat to make it smooth!
