SpaRitual Holiday 2011 Twinkle Collection Swatches!

Hi guys, hope you all had a good weekend! Mine was busy busy busy! Today I have for you guys the gorgeous 2011 Holiday Collection from SpaRitual for you! I was really looking forward to this since I saw it at Cosmoprof! I really like this collection it's got 4 gorgeous shimmers, an incredible glitter and a pretty glittery foil polish!

Click the Read More button below for more pictures and reviews of each shade!

Blue Moon is a bright royal blue packed with shimmer! In the bottle the shimmer looked very red but the reddness of it didn't translate onto the nail very much. This one did stain a little bit, I would double up on base coat with this one and be careful when you remove it so you don't get smurf fingers. Blue Moon went on a little bit sheer, I used 3 coats for full opacity.

Shade
Break of Dawn is a magenta/red jelly packed with red, orange and little bits of purple shimmer. This one was kind of freaking my camera out, it doesn't do shimmery reds very well. You can see the shimmer best in the very last picture taken in the shade. The formula was a bit sheer on this one also,  used 3 coats for full opacity.

Shade

Illumination is silver and holographic glitter in a clear base. When I saw this at Cosmoprof it was my fast favorite but under the lighting there I couldn't tell there was holographic glitter mixed in with the silver! It translates pretty well onto the nail, though you can't tell from my pictures. This went on really nicely, it was pretty dense so I'm not sure how great it would be for layering unless you did a really really thin coat. Despite it's dense glitter it was easy to work with and wasn't too thick. I used 2 coats for the photos below, I still had some bald spots with 2 coats. If you want full opacity 3 coats would probably be best.

Shooting Star is a red toned purple with bits of blue and red shimmer. This one is a surprise favorite for me, I though "meh another purple shimmer" when I saw it in the bottle but it really packs a punch once it's on. Can we also talk about how awesome this one looks in the shade, I think I actually prefer it there. Im gonna have to wear this again on a dreary overcast day lol. This one was a bit sheer but also thick, I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Shade
Solstice is a yellow gold glitter. This one is different than a lot of the glitters I own, the glitter in this is very very fine and dries to a foil look. I don't really love this polish on me, gold just doesn't do anything for my skin tone. However, I am loving the polish despite not loving the color. I'm going to need to think of another way to wear this so that it's more flattering on me. The coverage on this was really good, I used 2 coats for full opacity. My coats were on the thick side, if you do thinner coats you will probably need 3.

Shade
Twilight is a blackened purple packed with shimmer! This one had a tendency to look a bit dark in low light but not so dark that it looks black. The formula on this one was good, I used 2 coats for full opacity.

Shade

Overall I really like this collection, my favorites are Illumination and Shooting Star. If you like gold Solstice is a must have!

  15. These are so gorgeous!!!  I am amazed at how Blue Moon looks in the shade - if only those pretty red sparkles would light up!  I see what you mean, inside the bottle there is so much contrast between the base color and the sparkles.  Shooting Star looks beautiful.  Colors like that work wonders for my skin tone.  I love the sparkles in Break of Dawn too!  Man, these are pretty!  And of course I love the glitter too!  It's so icy and wintry.  Nice collection!  :D

  16. I have the exact same feelings about Solstice. It doesn't really suit me, but I still wore it for half a week. Blue Moon is probably my second favorite.

  18. These are super pretty!
I wish the simmer in Blue Moon had come across more red..it would look so awesome with little sparkly red flecks.

  19. I love shooting star and solstice. I always prefer silver over gold in terms of jewelry, but I would wear that any day. Last time I wore a sparkly gold I covered it with black splatter.
