Color Club Sugar Plum Yum & Very Merry Berry

Good morning! Last night I went to the food trucks again (they are in the area every Wednesday night!), nom nom nom! I'm so lucky to live close to where we have a lot of them. I mentioned on Twitter yesterday that I'd be going and it seems like a lot of people don't have food trucks where they live, that sucks! There was a couple trucks there that you might recognize if you watch the food channel...like the Grill Em All truck and Crepes Bonaparte truck. The line for Grill Em All was a bit long so we ended up eating from a truck called Baconmania...I bet you can't figure out what they make. Surprise....everything wrapped in bacon or stuffed with bacon! I split a sandwich with the person I went with then we got some fries off the Spudrunner truck and they were delicious too! Can you believe that there is actually a gourmet french fry truck?!? lol! Then to top it all off we split an ice cream sandwich off a truck called Chunk-n-Chip...I suggest you all google their website and look at their menu...the pictures will make you drool. We had French Toast ice cream sandwiched with 1 snickerdoodle cookie and 1 chocolate brownie cookie. It was pretty much the most unhealthy and yummy dinner and desert ever!

Today I have 2 polishes to show you guys! Recently Sally Beauty put out a small holiday collection from Color Club, it's 6 scented polishes. I ended up buying these 2...the others seemed like things I already had so I passed on them. If you have a Sally's near you I suggest you try to find these ASAP that display at mine was TINY!

Sugar Plum Yum is purple hex glitter and small green glitter in a clear base. I'm not sure what the scent is suppose to be here, it just smells fruity to me. I love this combo, it's like Barney exploded on my nails haha! The formula was a bit tricky, it got bunched up in some spots but it doesn't really bother me too much. I used 1 coat of Sugar Plum Yum over Revlon Aloof for the photos below. I do have a top coat over the glitter in these pictures!

Very Merry Berry is magenta hex glitter and small bright blue glitter in a clear base. I'm not sure what his is supposed to smell like either...it also just smells fruity to me. This one was a lot easier for me to apply, it went on pretty evenly! I used 1 coat  of Very Merry Berry over BB Couture Feathered Vixen for the photos below. I did use a top coat, it needed it...if you want either of these smooth you will need a couple coats of top coat!

Both polishes are available now at Sally Beauty Supply, the collection they are in is exclusive to Sally's so you won't be able to find it anywhere else. I'm not sure how much these were, I'm thinking around $4 a bottle (I can't remember, so sorry!) Best Blogger Tips

  1. Oh wow, both of these polishes are so gorgeous! And truck food sounds absolutely incredible. I think the best meal I've ever had (may be slightly exaggerating here) was from a food vendor on the streets of New York haha

  5. I got Sugar Plum Yum, too.  It smells so good I've painted it on my cell phone.  :)  And I got the green one, Kiss Me Mistletoe, that smells like pine trees - it's awesome.

  7. I grabbed Sugar Plum last week but haven't used it yet.  I think I might try it next week.  How was the scent?  Was it WAY fruity?  Super strong?

  16. I got these a while ago at Sally's and I think I got mine for $4.99. I actually love these!! I put a couple good coats (nearly opaque) of very merry berry over OPI Grape Set Match and it looked fantastic!! I think the VMB is like the chunky glitter version of OPI's GSM shimmer. And as far as Sugar Plum Yum goes, I but two thin-ish (so it was spotty) coats over black and it looked great! These do have a somewhat tricky formula but I love glitter and these are no exception. I kind of like the imperfect application of these because it adds some texture and interest to your nails. And the smells are "just fruity" like you said, but not too bad. I got the polishes for the glitter anyway, so I really didn't care how they smelled as long as it didn't give me a headache! haha.
