Deborah Lippmann Dance Music Holiday Mini Trio Swatches!

Good morning! Today I have a fun set to show you guys from Deborah Lippmann! It seems like she has a ton of new polishes and sets coming out right now...I can't even keep track of all of them! This set is the Dance Music set, it's 3 mini's for Holiday 2011 and it's exclusive to Nordstroms. I saw this online and *needed* it, luckily it pretty much rules.

Also, before I forget (since I did yesterday) the lucky winner of the huge $500 Sephora Gift Card Giveaway was Becky Miles!! Congrats girl, I hope you get a bunch of awesome stuff! Thanks to everyone who entered, Hopefully a bunch of us can get together and do something similar in the future!

Click the read more button below for a bunch of pictures of each shade!

Dancing In The Dark is a mix of small dark grey and silver glitter with larger holographic circular glitter in a clear base. This one reminds me a bit of Orly Rock Solid...but better. It's a bit on the sheer side but it builds nicely. I used 3 coats for the photos below!

Shade

Flash Dance is small bright purple glitter and larger red glitter in a magenta jelly base. This is pretty much amazing, it's my favorite of the trio! It reminds me of Nails Inc Bloomsbury Square but like a bazillion times more awesome. I'm gonna need Deborah to make this in a full size bottle, please! The formula was really great, I used 2 coats for the photos below!

Just Dance is small aqua glitter and larger bright blue glitter in a very sheer blue jelly base. It's very similar to Piggy Polish Teal It Like It Is that I posted a few days ago, maybe just a touch less green toned. Out of all three this was the most opaque, I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Just so you can see the size, here is Just Dance next to a full sized Deborah Lippmann polish...look how cute it is!! I normally do not like mini's but if they are this cute I can deal!

Overall, I really like this set! It bums me out that these are mini's, I hope one day Flash Dance is put out in a full sized bottle. I would buy that sucker in a heart beat! Formula wise all 3 were on the thick side but they were easy to work with. They all dried with a bit of texture and needed 2 coats of Seche Vite to be smooth.

The Dance Music Holiday Mini Trio is available exclusively at Nordstrom both in store and online, it retails for $29!

  5. Do you have Wet N' Wild's Diamond in the Rough? Dancing In The Dark looks like a dupe of it, so I am curious if you would be able to compare. I am wearing Diamond in the Rough right now, and when your pictures came up I was holding my hand up to the monitor to compare the two. If anyone here at work saw me they probably thought I was nuts :)

  8. These are gorgeous!  I could be wrong, but these look similar to some of the WnW Color Icon Ice Baby polishes.  Dancing in the Dark looks extremely similar to Diamond in the Rough (and at a much cheaper price).  Great swatches!  Thanks =)

  16. Flash Dance is pretty!! And I also like Dancing In The Dark.
The bottle is pretty this time. I have a few of those mini Lippmann´s and they are ugly bottles. These are cute and look like the regular version.

  17. Flash Dance really reminds me of Back Alley Deals from the Wet n' Wild Ice Baby collection, except Flash Dance is more pink than Back Alley Deals. I think I like this one better.

  18. I think this is going to be my first Deborah Lippmann purchase :D excited!!!

  19. Agh these are so pretty! $29 isn't too bad for the trio, either. Maybe it's time for me to buy me some D. Lippmann polishes! :D

Like other people have said, these do look like the new Wet n Wild glitters. However I think these have a more opaque base than the Wet n Wild ones. I love glitters, so there is plenty of room in my Helmer for all of them. (Actually, there isn't any more room in my Helmer. I need another one!) Thank you for the swatches! The mini bottles are so cute.

  22. I love the look of Dancing in the Dark! :)

  23. Thanks for the swatches! The comparison of mini to regular sized bottle is useful too. Are these .2 or .3 oz?

  24. Pretty but the totally look like the new glitters Wet n Wild put out. The ice baby colection. I think I'd rather save my $$ and go with the wet n wilds.

  25. I *think* it might say the size on the Nordstroms website that I linked at the bottom of the post, it doesn't say on the bottles so I'm not 100% sure, sorry!

  28. anyone else notice that two of these polishes are Lady GaGa song titles? haha =)

    ReplyDelete
  29. I noticed that also, makes sense. Deborah does Lady Gaga's nails for videos and events!

  32. Hm...these look like they and three of the Wet 'n' Wild Coloricons might be dupes. What do you think?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Aw, they're so cute and little, lol!

    ReplyDelete
  34. It certainly looks like many of the wet n wilds are comparable. http://www.polishinsomniac.net/2011/10/wet-n-wild-ice-babybottle-shots.html

  36. These look really similar to the Nails Inc 3D Effect polishes. They are so cute though!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Flash Dance is awesome, but "Dancing In The Dark", looks A LOT like the WnW color from the Ice Baby collex., "Diamond In The Rough"

  38. How similar is Dancing in the Dark to China Glaze Some Like it Haute?

    ReplyDelete
  39. I haven't had a chance to look at them side by side but I think they are close enough that you don't need both!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I would love to see a comparison of Some Like it Haute and Dancing in the Dark

    ReplyDelete
  41. I looooove mini bottles, these are adorable. Nubar minis are my favorites, China Glazes as well. I'd love to see Chanel minis, how cute would that be :D

  42. I just found them today at my local Nordstrom's in individual full sizes!  :D  The formula reminds me of her Mermaid's Dream one....but in more monochromatic color schemes.  And I agree the purple one is my favorite of the bunch!  Definitely fell in love with them.
