OPI Ulta Holiday 2011 Exclusives, Deck Your Nails Collection Swatches

Whew, how's that for a post title haha! Today I have the Ulta Holiday 2011 Exclusives from OPI, the collection is called Deck Your Nails! I saw these in store about a week ago and passed on all 3, they didn't wow me at all. Then the mini set was on sale for $7.99 on Black Friday so I decided I couldn't pass up that deal. Click the read more button below for swatches and reviews of each shade.

A Sparkle Yule Love is a pink jelly base with multicolored glitter throughout it. Sound familiar? It's pretty much an exact dupe of Excuse Moi from the Muppets Collection, I have a comparison below for you guys.  I'm a bit disappointed that OPI would repackage this polish while you can still get the first version in the display sitting right next to this one. I still do love the polish but you don't need this if you got Excuse Moi, good formula on this. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

A Sparkle Yule Love vs. OPI Excuse Moi, 2 coats of each.

How's It Snowin'? is a charcoal grey glitter mixed with multi sized silver glitter. From what I've seen it's a pretty good dupe of Nina Ulta Pro Glamrock, I don't own that so I can't compare it. It also reminds me of China Glaze Tinsel Town from the Let It Snow Collection. I haven't compared them yet but I have a feeling that it's a dupe.  The formula was good on this, I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Speak For Your-Elf is a red jelly packed with what looks to be red glitter (hard to tell though). I think this might be close to China Glaze Ruby Pumps, which unfortunately is on loan to a friend so I can't compare them at the moment. Dupe or not, I love this one....it's pretty much perfection for the holidays. Formula wise it was a bit thin, I used 3 coats for the photos below. Please excuse that big red smudge on my middle finger, I totally smashed it into my ring finger while the polish was wet...I fixed the polish but forgot to remove the smudge from my finger lol.

Overall, I stand by my original "meh" feeling about this collection. Speak For Your-Elf is gorgeous and I might go back for the full size bottle of it. The other 2, especially A Sparkle Yule Love, are too similar to other polishes that have just come out for me to love them. I think this is good news to those of you who either don't have an Ulta nearby or don't have an Ulta in your country....you aren't missing out on anything mind blowing by these being Ulta Exclusives.

The Deck Your Nails Collection is available now only at Ulta stores...you cannot buy them online :(

  7. Wow. I saw Sparkle Yule Love and automatically wondered why you'd swatched Excuse Moi again!

I'm actually heading out today to pick up bottles of Excuse Moi and Wokka Wokka, good to know I can settle for either if they're out of EM :)

  8. It doesn't seem like OPI tried this year with their holiday colors. Oh well, plenty of other great holiday collections that did!

*drooool*  The RED!  Gotta have that one!!  I hate it when companies release a color that's obviously a dupe to one that they *just* released in the collection before.  *sigh*

  13. Since I didn't get "Excuse Moi" I just got "A Sparkle Yule Love" today...also they had one bottle left of Warm and Fozzie so I bought that since I hadn't bought anything from the Muppets collection and I'm wearing right now and I love it!

  14. How's It Snowin'? is also an exact dupe for Nicole by OPI - Nicole's Nickel.
Jeez, they put absolutely no thought into these. They're just repackaged existing colours!

  19. hi, could you do a comparison between china glaze tinsel town and china glaze some like it haute?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Some Like It Haute is not a dupe of any of these. I'll try to do the one with Tinsel Town, can't guarantee I will have time...but I will try!
