2011 Favorites!

It's that time of year again, time for my favorites post!! I love this time of year because I love seeing what everyone else picks. It reminds me of polishes I have forgotten about! I can't believe how fast this year flew by! Before I get into all the photos I want to thank you all for reading and commenting on my posts. The blog is my outlet from the craziness of my life/job and it's still crazy to me that anyone cares about my ramblings. This year has been so amazing and a lot of it is due to this blog. Two of the biggest highlights of the entire year are because of the blog, one is being mentioned in InStyle Magazine and the other was going to Vegas and meeting a bunch of awesome bloggers. It makes me feel less weird that there are other people out there who understand my love for polish, and don't judge me for my hobby.

Alright now on to pictures :D. Last year my 2010 Favorites consisted of my favorite polishes that I had gotten and worn that year...not necessarily ones that were released that year. For 2011 I decided to do favorites of polishes that have come out in 2011. I also tried to narrow it down to 20 and that wasn't happening so instead you get my top 32 LOL! The individual photos are after you click the read more button under the collage!

I think that 2011 was a fantastic year for polish, there were a lot of great glitters, really interesting shimmers and of course multichromes/duochromes and holos. It looks like 2012 might be a year of magnetics and flakies judging but what we have heard about being released in the early part of the year...I am SO excited about that!

Now these are not in any specific order....just by what I called the photos when I saved them on my computer. I am including the links to the posts that go with each of the polishes in case you want to go read my review and whatnot :)

A England Lady of the Lake, I love this dark dusty purple and the subtle holo is gorgeous!

http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2011/11/england-lady-of-lake.html

Butter London No More Waity Katie, I think this one had a lot of people torn...you either loved it or hated it. I loved it! I have yet to see anything similar to this!

http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2011/07/butter-london-no-more-waity-katie.html

China Glaze Glittering Garland, green with glitter....need I say anymore about why I love it?

 http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2011/11/china-glaze-holiday-2011-let-it-snow.html

China Glaze Love Marilyn, out of all the chunky glitters that have come out towards the end of 2011 this one was my favorite mix. It reminds me of Minnie Mouse

http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2011/10/china-glaze-eye-candy-collection.html

China Glaze Skyscraper, another fabulous glitter. I don't have anything quite like this one in my stash!

http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2011/07/china-glaze-fall-2011-metro-collection.html

China Glaze Ultamate Holiday, this one is just...wow. I am not usually a gold kind of girl but since this one leans a little more to the yellow I found it to be more flattering on me. Dear China Glaze, please make more polishes like this...thanks!

http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2011/12/china-glaze-holiday-2011-ulta.html

Cult Nails Crusin' Nude, I have been all about nude/neutral polishes this year. This one stood apart from the rest because of the gorgeous coppery/pink subtle shimmer!

http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2011/07/cult-nails-crusin-nude.html

Cult Nails Unicorn Puke/Clairvoyant. I think the picture speaks for itself ;)

http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2011/11/cult-nails-unicorn-puke.html

Deborah Lippmann Almost Paradise, this is pretty much the most perfect pistachio green color. Not the most exciting thing to come out this year but it's a unique baby in my stash and I love it!

http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2011/11/deborah-lippmann-footloose-collection.html

Essie As Gold As It Gets (also CND Sheer 24K Sparkle, they are practically the same but Essie is easier to find!) Gold flakies...need I say more?!? http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2011/11/essie-holiday-2011-luxeffects.html

Girly Bits Shift Happens, technically I think this is available in 2012 but it's too amazing not to include! I actually ordered a full size bottle of this since the one I have is a mini, that is how much I love it! I really cannot wait to see what else Pam is cooking up, everything she has done so far is amazing!

http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2011/12/girly-bits-nail-polish-swatches.html

Hits Apolo, blue + linear holo= amazing.

http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2011/12/speciallita-hits-no-olimpo-collection.html

Hits Atena, I have no words for this. Can I also just tell you guys how hard it was to only pick 2 of these Hits No Olimpo polishes? At first 11 of them were on this list...not even lying LOL

http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2011/12/speciallita-hits-no-olimpo-collection.html

Jesse's Girl Mermaids Lagoon. I LOVE this shade, I found a rogue bottle at Rite Aid the other day and bought a back up! The shade of teal is really gorgeous but then they went and added that shimmer and really put it over the top!

http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2011/08/jesses-girl-julieg-collection-swatches.html

Jessica Hologram Chic Duo/Disco Diva. Silver Holo, need I say anything else? This one is SO much better in real life!

http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2011/11/jessica-hologram-chic-disco-diva.html

Kleancolor Chunky Holo Purple (all of the Chunky Holo ones were great!), I only picked this one because I liked the picture the best haha! Kleancolor really outdid themselves with these multichromatic glitters! Although it still bugs me that they are called Chunky Holos when they are not holo haha!

http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2011/05/kleancolor-chunky-holo-purple.html

Maybelline Purple Trend, can you all tell that I am a sucker for a nice subtle shimmer? I love the bright blue shimmer in this, it was a little flat looking indoors but outside in the sun...wow!

http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2011/08/maybelline-purple-trend.html

Misa Grey Matter, this one isn't the most exciting polish ever but I don't have anything like it. I love that it has a black shimmer...I guess you can't call it a shimmer since it doesn't sparkle though...hmm

 http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2011/10/misa-grey-matters-phazers-on-stunning.html

Models Own Pinky Brown, Mac's Bad Fairy is in my top 5 favorite polishes ever and this is basically a darker version of it. I knew it would be on this list the second I saw it!

http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2011/11/models-own-beetlejuice-collection.html

Models Own Purple Blue, this actually ended up being my favorite of the Beetlejuice Collection...it's so gorgeous!

http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2011/11/models-own-beetlejuice-collection.html

Nicole by OPI Kendall On The Katwalk, I just cannot get over how fantastic this mix of glitter is.

http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2011/10/nicole-by-opi-kardashian-collection.html

Nicole by OPI Kim-pletely In Love, yes people another Kardashian polish on this list lol. Also another subtle shimmer, I don't usually like pinks like this but man that shimmer it awesome!

http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2011/10/nicole-by-opi-kardashian-collection.html

OPI DS Temptation, it still bums me out that OPI DS no longer means holo but this glitter is fantastic so I can forgive it this one time!

http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2011/09/opi-ds-temptation.html

Ozotic 528, can we also tell that I have a soft spot for multichromatic glitter? I have a tendency to layer this over everything haha!

http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2011/11/ozotic-528.html

Paul & Joe 015 Venus, ahhh the under-appreciated beauty. Why this brand is not talked about on every nail blog makes no sense to me! They make some really unique and gorgeous glitters...this was my favorite from them! Also, I really need to reswatch this and take better pictures!

http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2011/06/paul-joe-015-venus.html

Rescue Beauty Lounge Piu Mosso, OMG what...another subtle shimmer?? yes...sorry I love them, what can I say. If Ji made all her polishes like this one I would be one very broke polishaholic.

http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2011/09/rescue-beauty-lounge-piu-mosso.html

Revlon Starry Pink, this is another polish I wouldn't normally go for but I really love how it's a glitter bomb but still soft looking!

http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2011/08/revlon-starry-pink.html

Sephora by OPI Hell To The No...I actually think this might be my favorite polish of the entire year. I've worn it 7 or 8 times, which is highly unusual for me. I LOVE this polish! http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2011/01/sephora-by-opi-glee-collection-swatches.html

SpaRitual Sacred Ground, another gorgeous and unique glitter!

  http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2011/08/sparitual-fall-2011-wilde-collection.html

Tony Moly GT05 Jupiter, oh Tony Moly....I had 3 of the 5 Galaxy Collection glitters on my favorites list but when I was editing the list down this was the one that made the cut!

http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2011/10/tony-moly-gt05-jupiter.html

Zoya Gemma, I had almost forgotten about this polish since it came out almost a full year ago. The shade of green along with the subtle purple/blue shimmer is super gorgeous!

http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2011/02/zoya-spring-2011-intimate-collection.html

Zoya Yara, last but not least! Another gorgeous green from Zoya, the gold flakes of glitter really pushed this one over the edge for me!

 http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2011/08/zoya-fall-2011-mirrors-collection.html

Whew, if you actually made it through that whole post I congratulate you haha! I would love to hear what your favorites were this year in the comments! Best Blogger Tips

  3. I LOVE your favorites. They are pretty much similar for me as well. It was an awesome year of glitters. Though, I am surprised that the WnW ice baby collection wasn't included.

  4. Absolutely gorgeous choices!!  I love subtle shimmer polishes too.  :D

  5. Lol, the only polish I have on this list is Revlon Starry Pink. I have a mental list though, of a couple new polishes I want after reading this post. I liked the China Glaze Glittering Garland and this only cemented my want for it. I like the Love Marilyn polish, it is different and very pretty.
I too like the subtle shimmers but I think I may stick with the more obvious glitters on my want list for now. I saw the Kleancolor Chunky Holo Purple before and forgot I liked it...Rescue Beauty Lounge Piu Mosso may have to wait until I can get to NYC but it maybe sold out...as is Unicorn Puke, even as Clairvoyant, so I'll substitute something else.
Paul & Joe 015 Venus is really beautiful and unique, so I may look for it as well.
    Thanks for the post. :)

  6. Sadly, I haven't been able to try any of these GORGEOUS colors yet, but my personal favorite polish of the year is Revlon's "Ocean".  It's a blue/green duochrome and I am in love with it!  Thanks for doing such great posts!

  7. This is a great post, Jen. I never knew that I needed all of these colors. Except Waity Katie. I'm the hater... lol

  8. China Glaze's Ruby Pumps is still my favorite - the Green you posted above is a close second, but red is just one of my favorite colors.

  9. I don't have any of the WnW Ice Baby polishes, I only ever found the display here once and it was so high up on a shelf that I couldn't get of them. I figured it was a sign that I didn't need them LOL!

  10. Wow, good for you for picking! I wanted to do a favorites/end of the year post, but it's too hard to pick! And OMFG, I want Rescue Beauty Lounge Piu Mosso! I'm all about subtle shimmer too, especially gold shimmer! I always talk about it on my blog.

    Great post!

  11. What a fantastic selection of beautiful polishes!  I might have added one of the bar glitters from Zoya's Gems & Jewels collection and a Lynnderella or 2 as well!  But I can see how difficult it would be to make it a set list - and not add everything you swatched over the whole year!  (:  Best of wishes for a polish-filled 2012!  Can't wait to see more posts from you.

  12. I loved the Ozotic 528 & Kleancolor Chunky Hoo Purple! They just look so unique and I know that I'd get a lot of questions or compliments on them. My favorite polishes ever are still CG Glittering Garland, Deborah Lippmann Candy Shop & OPI Mod About You. I just wanted you to know that this blog is seriously 20 times better then AllLaqueredUp. I really appreciate how you blog everyday and do fun tutorials also. :)

  13. These are all excellent choices!!  I see why you had a hard time narrowing it down, lol.  Zoya Neeka would definitely be an addition to my list!  I'm in love with that poish!!

  14. i love all shades...you pick great colors and i <3 your pretty hands

    ReplyDelete
  15. These are all so great! I think I want Essie's As Gold as it Gets now! It looks awesome over teal.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Oh wow all of these are gorgoeus!  If I could get my hands on some Paul & Joe I would be talking about them :)

    ReplyDelete
  17. I am just so glad you don't limit yourself to a top 10 -- or even 20!

    ReplyDelete
  18. I actually tried to do a top 20 but I love too much stuff lol!

    ReplyDelete
  19. I usually buy mine on Apothica.com!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Oh, I know exactly how hard it is to pick 2 Hits No Olimpos...I am trying to figure out which 2 I want in a swap!  I may just pick the 2 you have though, I constantly refer to your review when trying to decide!

  21. Great choices! I love NMWK even though I haven't worn it yet, lol.

  24. My favorite of your favorites is O.P.I DS Temptation. I don't own it but it's gorgeous!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Wow so many gorgeous polishes!!! I cannot WAIT to get Shift Happens from Girly Bits--I ordered 2 from her, and I hope she has that available when she reopens. Ha my first polish order of 2012 ;)

Ozotics are DEFINITELY at the top of my list! I've only been blogging a few months (and yes it's lovely having people UNDERSTAND my newfound beauty passion and no mocking). So I don't have as many swatches but I'll probably put up a list myself ;)

  26. This post just makes me insanely happy!

  28. WOW! you chose such awesome colors!!! :) love them all!

  29. Great post, and fabulous selections. Every one I looked at was my favorite, until I looked at the next one, which then became my new favorite. I actually have very few of these, so I now have new lemmings. Of the ones I don't have, I am really liking Hell to the No, Piu Mosso, Kendall on the Katwalk, and Mermaids Lagoon.
And I am completely honored that you included Shift Happens. ♥

    ReplyDelete
  30. Wow! I'm going to go and steal all of these from you... Jk. But now I NEED all of these!

OMG!!! That was like heaven!! What do you use to get all the glitter polish off? Also how do you keep your nails so perfect!? I love your blog!!
    Thanks

  34. I use the foil method, there are a ton of tutorials for it if you google it! I wish I had good secrets to tell you about how I keep my nails in shape, I think most of it is just good genes :)

  35. Lovely to see all your picks!

    ReplyDelete
  36. What?? No Zoya Faye? In fact, no bloggers I've seen have mentioned the Sunshine Collection, my favorite of the year....and no Tronicas either.
Seems like everyone's picks tend to be heavy on the fall/winter collections....

    ReplyDelete
  37. I tend to love Fall/Winter stuff more than Spring/Summer. The Tronica collection was a HUGE letdown for me, I think it was for a lot of people. I don't think I ever even ended up swatching those for the blog lol! I tried them out and was so disappointed that I shoved them into my storage and pretended they didn't happen!

I do like Faye but I feel like we saw that color and so many like it this year that I got tired of it. I actually really loved most of the Sunshine collection but when I was editing my list they were the first to go :(

    ReplyDelete
  38. I definitely agree with you on Yara - I love how unique it is! I also loved Zoya's Shay from the Touch collection. I think my favorite is tied with the Ultamate Holiday polish and butter LONDON's Black Knight, which is on my nails right this second. This is also the year I got back into nail polish after a hiatus, so I was discovering some oldies. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  39. Holos aren't holos either, their prismatic...but I get what you're saying. ;)

I too would have liked to have seen some others, but that is why there are many blogs and so many colors to choose from, I suppose, when I have some time to start blogging again, I will do my favorite for 2012...maybe I can get one together in time for 2011, but I'm thinking...no. So much unpacking, sorting and settling in. If you're ever in NorCal, drop me a line, would love to see you again!

  40. Thanks for the post! There are a few I'm going to have to look into (even the Kardashian ones...I'd hate to buy anything that helps them make more money but what can ya do?). Two of my favourite releases from 2011 are Essie's Ladylike (I love the muddy blush colour...so shabby chic!) and Chine Glaze's Loreli's Tiara (looks like diamonds on your nails). I'm looking forward to the 2012 collections!

  41. Lovely to see all your picks!
