China Glaze Holiday 2011 Ulta Exclusives Swatches!

Good morning! I hope you all had a great weekend! Today I have for you 3 Ulta Exclusive China Glaze polishes for Holiday 2011. I don't remember China Glaze having Ulta Exclusives last year so I'm not sure if this is something new they are doing...or if I just missed them last year. Anyway, they are AWESOME, 2 of them are easily part of my favorites that China Glaze has put out all year. There are tons of pictures, and even a video after you click the read more button below!

Fireside Glow is a a really gorgeous mix of orange glitter and holographic glitter in a clear base. This is just...wow. The orange glitter in this is so interesting, it's a bit of a burnt orange...I love it! I'm gonna need China Glaze to make more polishes like this, it reminds me of the Kaleidoscope Collection but way less holo. The formula was thick but easy to work with, it was a tiny bit sheer but I didn't have any problems getting it opaque, I used 3 coats for the photos below. It does dry with texture and eats top coat like crazy...I think I put on 5 coats of top coat before it finally decided to be  smooth and shiny. Usually that would annoy me but this polish is awesome so I'm okay with it.

Also, I finally got my new *fancy* camera and have been messing around with a light box...I'm not sure if I like the photos better or not. Hopefully you guys like them! I'll probably stick with using the sun for photos most of the time but I like having the option of a light box also.

Lightbox

Mistletoe Me! is a dark pink foil. Not the most unique baby in the bunch but China Glaze was buy 2 get 1 free so that's the only reason I brought it home. It's pretty close to Color Club Hot Like Lava, I have a comparison below for you guys....if you have the Color Club you don't need this. Formula wise, it was great...almost a 1 coater!

Shade
Ultamate Holiday is a lot like Fireside Glow except it's a yellow/gold and much more holo. This polish is awesome, my favorite of the 3 and easily in my favorites of all of 2011.  I'm actually considering going back to Ulta to get another bottle. Formula wise it was the same as Fireside Glow, I used 3 coats for the photos below.

Out in the sun, the holo refused to photograph this way :(

And because photos do NOT do justice to how great Ultamate Holiday and Fireside Glow are I did a little video...complete with awesome "stadium cheering" in the background because I was bored :D

Incase the embeded video doesn't work here is the link: http://youtu.be/gEnPhlknXyo

I believe these are the only exclusives from China Glaze at Ulta, if there are any others you know of please let me know! If you go into Ulta looking for these I found them at mine mixed in with the Let It Snow Collection. Right now China Glaze is Buy 2 Get 1 Free (not sure when that ends) so it's a pretty great deal! It looks like you can also get Fireside Glow and Ultamate Holiday online here (not sure why they don't have Mistletoe Me!) .

Out of curiosity, have you tried applying Gelous under SV for glitter hungry polish? Works like a charm for me. Instant Artificials does the same as well.

  16. OMG I need to go back to Ulta now LOL
I was there this weekend and these weren't out:(
Do you know how the Ultimate Holiday compares to the goldish color in the Eye Candy collection?  TIA

    ReplyDelete
  17. It's not similar at all besides being gold. Ultamate Holiday is very fine gold glitter mixed with holographic glitter and the one from Eye Candy is chunky glitter of all sizes/shapes

  18. Can you please confirm you got the name right for Mistletoe Me? I can't find it anywhere and I MUST have it :(

  23. I knew Fireside Glow was going to be gorgeous when I saw the promo picture for it (which I still think it is), but I wasn't expecting Ultamate Holiday to be so amazing. It wasn't until I saw it in your video that I wanted it. So pretty!

  24. Dammit Jen, I was hoping to not have to buy these :P

  32. If these photos are you in a lightbox, then I think you could move somewhere where there is no sun! They look awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  33. thanks love ♥ I think a lot of it is my new camera also, I tried taking pictures with my point & shoot in the light box and they didn't turn out very well lol

    ReplyDelete
  34. I want to get Ultamate Holiday, but I need to find Blue Year's Eve first.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Haha I love the cheering in the video, it makes them even more exciting!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I was just at ULTA today and these have not been popping up anywhere in my local area. Sad day!

    ReplyDelete
  37. OMG...I need all 3.

    ReplyDelete
  38. OMG...I need all three!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. I ended up buying some Revlon stuff so I spent a little more than you did and got fewer polishes. ;_; If anyone asks, some Ultas might have these in the back right now. The Ulta I went to didn't have them out, so I had to ask for them and she had to go check in the back. Thank you so much for alerting us to the existence of these polishes! ;)

  40. I got he two glitters.... didn't want Mistletoe Me. I'm in LOVE with Ultamate Holiday!

    ReplyDelete
  41. *crying because I have no access to an Ulta* Love those glitters!  I also liked the stadium cheering on your video, lol... made me think I was watching a burlesque show.  ^_^

    ReplyDelete
  44. Wow. Very pretty.

I actually made a polish that's pretty close to Fireside Glow.

    ReplyDelete
  45. These are so gorgeous. I wish I had an Ulta closer to me. :(

    ReplyDelete
  46. I went and bought these today because they looked so freaking gorgeous in your swatches. The holo glitters DO NOT disappoint! I can't wait to change my polish tomorrow!

    ReplyDelete
  47. yay!! I'm glad you found them!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Oh wow those holos are beautiful! the lightbox pics are great~

    ReplyDelete
  49. Fireside glow looked awsome in the pictures and even more awsome in the video! I would love to hav it, ut unfortunately we have no Ulta in Sweden, and when I clicked on the link it said that the product is no longer available :/

    ReplyDelete
  50. They still had a bunch! They weren't nearly as picked over as the Let It Snow collection.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I picked up Fireside Glow and it's so awesome! I used a coat of Gelous (found at Sally's) and then put on my top coat and it made it so much smoother! Gelous is awesome for top coat eating glitters!

  52. I am so thankful for your fabulous blog!  I got into taking better care of my nails and polishing them again over the last couple of months, and this post made me fall in love with Ultamate Holiday.  I don't have an Ulta here, but while visiting a friend this weekend I stopped by and managed to find their last bottle of it on clearance for $2!  Thanks so much for your in depth posts that helped me find one of my new favorites in my collection.

  55. I got ultimate holiday for 1.99 in January or February. I didn't really like it but just liked the price. It was my first China glaze and still has not been worn. Glad I picked it up it looks gorgeous! Definitely going to have to wear it this upcoming winter.

  56. Do you think that Fireside Glow and I Herd that are dupes?

Lol I love the video! You should include vids with all polishes that change with movement. There is another polish addict on YouTube that has a series called "polish in motion", but her vids don't have cheering.
