Bad Atmosphere is a dark murky grey with a strong blue/green undertone. The formula on this was pretty great, nearly a 1 coater for me...I ended up using a second coat out of habit. It dries to a kind of rubbery finish, like the Orly Plastix Collection if you remember those. I did use a top coat for the photos below, while the finish it dried to was very cool I didn't love how it looked on me. This shade is great all shiny and beautiful!
| Here is Bad Atmosphere in very overcast light, it looks so much different! |
Precious Calm is a light greyed out blue green with a subtle silver shimmer. This is my person favorite of the 3, I don't think pictures do it justice at all. It's so soft and perfect, out in the sun when the shimmer comes out it's even better! The formula was nice on this one also, a bit sheer on the 1st coat but perfect after the 2nd!
Sparkling Waters is a mix of small blue, silver and holographic glitter with a bit of silver hex glitter sprinkled in all in a clear base. This polish is actually what I thought the OPI Muppets Collection glitters would be, it's nice an opaque! I used 2 coats for the photos below, you can also layer them over the other shades...they look great that way!

Harlow & Co's Sirens will be available on their website www.harlowandco.org on February 1st, 2012. The trio is $32 and the bottles are full sized at .5 oz. Like I mentioned at the beginning of the post there will only be 10 sets of these so seriously...if you like it stalk the Harlow & Co Facebook page so you know exactly when Katie puts them up for sale!
You can also check out some great photos of these on Pshiiit, her nails are so cute and she did a little bit of nail art with them also! Love them!

ReplyDeleteWhen I saw that tiny picture of Sparkling Waters I thought "Absolutely Alice!" but on the bigger pictures it does look much more complex. Very pretty colours!

ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of your blog, and these are indeed pretty. But apart from the giltter one I don't find the other two all that special. I would guess there are many dupes for them. For me personally if a polish is truly unique or in short supply because it's a franken, or because a large company has not added it to their main collection, or has discontinued it, that's one thing. But if a seller create a feeding frenzy artificially, I would personally think twice over buying from that company. There was just such a panic over at Llarowe over the new Lynnderella collection. So to play off of people's not wanting to miss the boat for no good reason at all, that is not something I want to buy into it. We are living in a time when a lot of people are suffering from very real scarcity, so let's not play games with this where we don't have to. IMHO.

ReplyDeleteI think you are comparing apples and oranges here. Lynnderella has been crazy demand & ordering frenzies long before Llarowe carried them. The reasoning behind there only being 10 sets of the Harlow & Co polish is most likely because Katie (Harlow & Co) has never done anything like this before. She has no idea how they will sell...or IF they will sell and she doesn't want to put a lot of money into them unless she knows people will want them. I'm fairly certain she isn't trying to create any kind of chaos like has recently happened with the Lynnderella polishes.

ReplyDeleteLovely! Thanks for sharing. : )
ReplyDeleteI also thought it was a bit strange that they seem to be promoting it so heavily when there will only be 10 sets! Precious calm is very nice though, I'd buy it as a single.
ReplyDeleteHow else are the supposed to let people know they are available unless they promote them?
ReplyDeleteReally pretty collection and super great photos you have of the shades for us here!
ReplyDeleteI have this out-of-the-box idea that designers are allowed to produce their designs in any damn quantity they choose. It shows a rather ridiculous sense of entitlement to demand that a designer produce something in XXXX quantities just "in case" someone decides they want one. After all it would be an end-of-the-world disaster if someone wanted to buy a particular nail polish and then it was sold out, wouldn't it.. oh wait. No it wouldn't.
ReplyDeleteFurthermore to then attack a blogger for showing a product that's available in limited quantities? Goodness me.
I really enjoyed looking at these, I think they're pretty and I am glad you took the time to show them to all of us... I don't think the availability or otherwise of the product effects my enjoyment of seeing them at all.
What a superb job you did with this collection. I'm happy to see you enjoying it and sharing it with your readers.
ReplyDeleteMany times I get jealous of people who get invited to premiers, events and parties that are limited to particular industries. Like, say movies or the beauty events they have in NYC for makeup and releases. And, then they get awesome swags too. But, that's just how things are. Not everyone was able to get this collection...so what?
Maybe some people forget 'Caveat emptor'
And while I'm at it, some people forget manners too.

ReplyDeleteLooks like everything on the website is sold out practically so they have traffic.. I am not insulting them it just seems like they sent out more sets than they have for sale lol. juuuust an opinion.
ReplyDeletethese are beautiful!!! THANKS FOR SHARING, i love checking your blog each morning to look at pretty nail polish!!
ReplyDeleteYou are awesome, and thanks for sharing! Most of us stuck in podunk towns never know anything about this stuff unless you know. Thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty.
ReplyDeleteTrue, but do you usually buy polish without looking at swatches and reading reviews? I don't, I think that's true for a lot of people who are active in reading blogs or are bloggers themselves
ReplyDeleteI love Precious Calm. So pretty. Too bad it's in such limited quantities, though. Oh well!
ReplyDeleteNo! I definitely don't. I never said there was anything wrong with it, really.. I'd probably do the same thing! I think Alison went a little overboard but I understand her point, is all.
ReplyDeletePrecious Calm looks so pretty - I have really been feeling the blue shades lately :)
ReplyDeleteI love looking a pretty polish regardless if I can buy it. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLove "Precious Calm" & would order it in a heartbeat if it was sold individually. I hope she does so in the near future because I need to see this lovely on my nails! :)
