Icing Magnetix Swatches!

Good Morning!! Happy weekend, anyone have fun plans? It's supposed to rain here so that means getting cozy and watching movies! Today I have 4 magnetic polishes to show you guys!! I LOVE magnetic polish and they are quickly becoming easier to find and more affordable! I picked up the 4 I'm showing you today at Icing, for those that have never heard of Icing they sell cheap accessories along with some make up and great polishes! These are brand spanking new and I pretty much stalked the store closest to me waiting for them to get their shipment in lol!

These are pretty much full of win and easily my favorite magnetic polishes that have come out so far!

Click the Read More button for a photos and reviews of each shade!

Before I start I should mention that none of these have official names...wth Icing. I hate that! I used 2 coats for each polish and held the magnet over the nail for 10-15 seconds while the second coat of polish was wet to create the design for each!

First up is the blue/purple magnetic. THIS IS SO AWESOME!!! yes people I felt like I needed to yell that, if I wasn't scared about my neighbors calling the cops I'd probably stand on my roof and yell about how awesome this one is. If you like magnetic polish you need this, heck even if you don't like it...you still need this. Also, how awesome is the wavy magnet?!?

The next one is is a green/gold magnetic with glitter! This one is pretty amazing also, if not for that fab blue one it would be my favorite! I've seen magnetic polish with glitter but nothing near as awesome as this. The golden glitter comes out after you put the magnet over the nail and is SO gorgeous. Prior to using the magnet you can't really see that glitter, I was all :O after I was done with the first nail!

Next up is a grey/black with glitter. I do feel like I have seen this one before, it looks like Layla Silver Galaxy...except it's better in my opinion. It's also a lot cheaper and the magnet is a billion times easier to use! Since I already have one like this overall it's not my favorite but it's still great!

Last up is the pink/dark pinkish red with glitter. In the bottle this one was my favorite, on the nail I don't love it quite as much but it's still a winner! The glitter in this one was also hiding it's awesomness until you held the magnet over your nail! This one is unlike any of the other magnetic polishes I have!

Alright, now lets talk about the magnets and why I think they rule.

1. They have that awesome lip like the Nails Inc. magnetic polishes have. It makes it easy to hold the magnet the correct distance from the nail without hitting it on the wet polish.

2. The magnet is nice and strong and the designs come out awesome!

3. The magnet is more versatile than the others I have. It has 2 of those little lips, so you can easily switch the design the other direction.

4. There are 2 patterns to choose from, the straight lines and the awesome wavy pattern. If you buy these make sure you check the caps of your bottles to make sure you get one of each (or whichever you like the best) I put a picture of what each of the caps looks like below (I added the word that says Wavy/Straight!)

Now here is my one complaint, these brushes are seriously wonky. 2 of mine were okay but the other 2 were like the photo below. It was like trying to polish my nails with a mop. Make sure you check your brushes before you buy!

The Icing Magnetix polishes are available only at Icing stores. They do not sell online unless you happen to find them somewhere like eBay. They were $9 each for a .33oz bottle, however Icing polishes are as far as I know always buy 1 get 1 half off which makes it a pretty great deal! Best Blogger Tips

I'm so psyched about these! Totally hitting up my mall today, and hope to get them all (especially for buy one get one prices!)! I can't believe they're so much less expensive than the other brands. Thanks for the swatches!

  20. These are up on my blog right now, too.  I definitely like them!  Did you notice a difference in the direction the wavy magnets go?  In my review I noticed while swatching that my wave magnets worked in opposite directions of each other.  Interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Yay!! These look awesome and I'm so excited you found some cheaper magnetic polish!!

  43. Fun, fun! Did not even know there was such a thing as an Icing Store! Call me the kid from the backwoods! Love the mico glitter in the polish. Also like the lighter/brighter shades in the green/red. I had sort of wondered if there was something about the physics of the paint pigments that limited the magnetic polishes to only use of darker shades like we had been seeing.

    ReplyDelete
  44. wow i love all of these but especially the wavy pattern which i havent seen yet. i also like that these areant as pricey as the nails inc brand at sephora!

    ReplyDelete
  45. I love the different patterns!

    ReplyDelete
  46. How perfectly gorgeous you got these! I have some magnetic polishes and I can NOT get them to work. Boo.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I went and got the blue and gold one. I totally forgot to check the brush even though I had read this post ahead of time! The blue brush is okay but the gold/green brush is like what you've shown.

    ReplyDelete
  48. AWESOME! I am in love with that wavy design and the glitter!? YES.

    ReplyDelete
  49. These are awesome. I need to stop at my local Icing!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Thank you so much for this post! I went right to the mall after reading it (and I usually avoid the mall), and I got the blue/purple and the gold/green. I checked the brushes on all the bottles in the bin, and they had many bottles for each color, but the brushes were mop-like on ALL of them. I wonder what the saleswoman thought watching me open all of them up.

    ReplyDelete
  51. aaaannd now i beg mom to take me to the mall. commence groveling.

    ReplyDelete
  52. You are such a bad habit! Mall bound tomorrow :)

I love the wavy design, so cool!  I had no idea these were out, now I have to run to Icing to get them. Awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  57. OMG the blue one is really gorgeous!!!
Anyway, I'm still a bit wary of magnetic polishes. I don't think they fit me. Mhm...

    ReplyDelete
  58. Wow, I wasn't into magnetic polish but those look awesome. I really like the red/pink one.

    ReplyDelete
  59. OMG I love the wavy magnet!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  60. The blue/green one is seriously amazing!! I haven't been totally crazy about magnetic polishes, but if there were more like that one then I would be all over them!

    ReplyDelete
  61. The blue and the pinkish red are amazing! I have never seen the wavy magnet design before. That is seriously cool!

    ReplyDelete
  62. OMG!! So so so stunning!!!! I love them all! You are so incredibly lucky to have this place near you, think I'm deffo gonna have to have a hunt on ebay :D

    Love Aysh xoxo

    ReplyDelete
  63. I am so into these magnetic polishes, they are only just starting to come out here in Australia, I hope it becomes a huge trend :)

    ReplyDelete
  64. I just got the blue and reddish ones today.  By mistake, I noticed that the side you hold your finger over determines the type of magnetic appearance.   On the red one, one side is wavy up and down and the other side was wavy side to side.

If anone would like to buy the lue wavy polish and ship to England let me know! I will pay good!!! I need this in my life!!

    ReplyDelete
  68. Ahh so great! These necessitate a trip to the mall!

  69. Hi there ..If you would like me to buy it for you ...I will..I have not checked my ICING store yet but will try to make there this weekend and see if they have in yet...if you would like you can email me at kdaniels at everestkc dot net and we can discuss it. My name is Kriss and I live in US ...in Kansas. :)

  70. Love these, have to go back and get the pink and the green, green was out when I went and I refuse to buy one and not get the other half off, lol.  Plus Claire's has magnetic polish now too for 8$, I tried a green one, and it's lovely!

    ReplyDelete
  71. Does anyone know if the Claire's versions are exactly the same as the Icing versions?

    ReplyDelete
  72.  There seems to be a more emerald green one at Claire's that isn't at Icing...

    ReplyDelete
  73. FYI ladies: I emailed Claire's corporate and they said that the Icing ones are exactly the same except that Claire's has ONE  MORE COLOR than Icing. So I am thinking it is that emerald green! Good to know!
Also, this month's NailPro has a lot of brands advertising magnetic nail polishes, including Gelish! So it's going to be an exciting trend as predicted!

    ReplyDelete
  74. thepolishaholicJan 30, 2012 02:37 PM

good to know, thanks so much for the info! I can't wait to see all this magnetic polish that is coming out!

    ReplyDelete
  75.  That blue one with the wavy pattern is the most gorgeous magnetic polish
I've ever seen. How lame that they can't be bought online.

God damn it sucks to live in Finland sometimes, it's like all the
coolest polishes are unavailable here. You can't even get China Glaze or
Zoya. And when some brand is available, it's ridiculously expensive.
OPIs are 16 euros a bottle, Orlys over 18 euros. >.< I'm so jealous of those of you who live in the US and can just drop by the mall to get the best polishes for a few dollars!

    ReplyDelete
  76. I went to Icing today and got two of colors...got the pinkish one and blue..Now I want the green gold one. I should of went to claires while at mall..I almost did ..I didn't not know they had these too. :(

    ReplyDelete
  77. You can buy the Claire's magnetic polish online and they are currently having a buy one get one half off sale! I'm not sure if they will ship to many countries but it's worth looking into.

    ReplyDelete
  78. you can buy the Claire's version online at claires.com... Same polish as the Icing ones! just so you know :)

    ReplyDelete
  79. I went to Claire's (by mistake) for magnetic polishes. I got all the colors they had including the green one.  I did end up going to Icing but as the colors looked the same in the bottles I didn't bother getting the Icing instead.  I wish I had because as far as I can tell right now, Claire's doesn't have two different magnets--unless I just happened to pluck the bottles with the same magnets out of the 5 I got.  I think tomorrow I'll go over and exchange them because I'd really rather have the option of different designs.  I plan to put up with China Glaze's magnet just to get more designs so I definitely want the Icing ones.
