Sweet Dreams is a medium pink jelly base packed with golden flakies. In the bottle the flakies have a green shift but it doesn't translate onto the nail. This kind of reminds me of China Glaze Strawberry Fields...obviously they are very different but it has that same kind of golden lit from within look to it. It also reminds me a lot of Hits Salsa. I haven't had a chance to put those 2 side by side but they look close, Sweet Dreams might just be a bit brighter of a pink and the flakies are a lot more dense in Sweet Dreams. Formula wise this was verging on glue territory...I'm guessing it's because of how dense the flakies are. Despite that it wasn't actually too difficult to apply, I will be thinning it before using it again though. This was also more opaque than I was expecting, I thought I'd need 3 coats but I only ended up needing 2! Both photos below are in the shade, it's gorgeous in the sun also but it was making my camera spaz out :(
I picked up Sweet Dreams from HSN.com for $16...and it came with free shipping! By the way, the shipping from HSN was lightning fast, I bought this on Saturday and got it on Tuesday! It looks like this shade is also available on Beauty.com...but it's $18 there! I have no idea when it will be available elsewhere, I would hope soon since it looks like it would be one of Deborah's Spring/Summer shades!

very pretty color. i love pinks!!
ReplyDeleteWow! This is lovely! I'm also quite surprised about how opaque the formula is...bonus! It's such a shame we can only get them in 1 place here and they cost an arm and a leg :(
ReplyDeleteOH MY, thats beautiful! ^^

ReplyDeleteOh no!!! I think I need it!! Beautiful pictures!! My wallet doesn't thank you lol
ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful! I'm totally lusting for gold flakies right now... the pink base isn't that bad, either, and I'm not one to go nutty for pink! Thanks for the beautiful pictures!
ReplyDeleteCute nail polish :) Does HSN ship worldwide? I can't find any information about that on their site :(
ReplyDeleteoew looks really pretty!
ReplyDelete*drool* I saw the photo before even starting to read the post, and thought 'ZOMG Strawberry Fields' flaky sister.' Too bad the formula isn't all that nice.
ReplyDeleteI just ordered this from HSN last night!! I was the same as you- my eyes bugged out and I put that bottle in my cart and bought it faster than lightening! Can't wait to get it, glad to hear yours came quickly! (Also glad to see how beautiful it is!!)
ReplyDeleteYou know I think Deborah Lippman does a great job and making glitter nail polish that is opaque enough but doesn't cover the glitter/flakies on the nail. I love this colour!
ReplyDeleteI knew DL could do fabulous glitter, but I hadn't seen a flakie from her yet- but that's gorgeous! Going on my wish list!
ReplyDeleteThat is very gorgeous!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's really gorgeous and delicious LOL
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!!! Love think pink and gold combination!
ReplyDeleteGreat polish, the effect is beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteWooee that is a beauty!! I see what you mean about it reminding you of CG Strawberry Fields. I think that makes me want this hahah. :D Beautiful swatch and thank you for the review!
ReplyDeleteWow that's super fun!
ReplyDeleteOMG, LOVE THIS! I am a huge pink polish and flaky fan - combine the two and I am in love! Can't wait to get my hands on this! I would die to own your polish stash... :)
ReplyDeleteThat color is so amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteI love this! I adore Lippmann polishes. :)
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one who suddenly got the Eurythmics stuck in my head after reading the post? I can definitely see the appeal and I like how it's a more opaque version (?) of Zoya Chloe. It's a jelly finish, is it? Thanks for the head's up on HSN.com too! :D
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if they do or not, typically places like HSN don't ship polish worldwide because it has to go by Ground due to it being "hazardous"
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!
ReplyDeletelol I got that song stuck in my head too, I almost put the music video at the end of the post! Sweet Dreams is a jelly!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! A DL flakie! It's absolutely gorgeous.
ReplyDeletePink + golden flakies? OMG I want it! In fact I hope Revlon copy it as they did with Bad Romance because I can´t affort Sweet Dreams ...:(
ReplyDeleteMakes me want to try a jelly sandwich with some of the flakes I already have.
ReplyDeleteI like! XoXo
ReplyDeleteThis is seriously so pretty!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty color... Great buy! This would probably look really pretty layered over top of Strawberry Fields!!!
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for swatching! I saw this on hsn.com too and I seriously went bizerk (who gets that excited about nail polish!?) So I looked high and low for a swatch but came up with nothing. I bought it anyway but haven't received mine yet. So thankful to see this! You rock!
ReplyDeleteQuick question... do you have any information about the purple (flakie?) polish that DL posted on her tumblr page? I'm dying to know ANYTHING about it...

I haven't heard anything about that one yet...it's the one I'm most looking forward to also!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! Reminds me of the Zoya Fleck Effects polish!
ReplyDeleteDeborah Lippmann polish is fantastic. The color looks so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSo gorgeous! Ever since people first posted bottle pictures of this on forums, I've been dying to see it swatched. Thanks for posting the swatches of this one!
ReplyDeleteLovely!
ReplyDeleteit looks like candy
ReplyDeletevery lovely!<3
ReplyDeleteOMG Gorgeous!!! I ordered it from HSN too...Just wish they'd had the dark blue flakie available (the last of the 4 DL spring collection). I should be getting Mermaid Dream and the bright blue (Lagoon? forget the name) in a day or so from Neiman Marcus. I also had to get the magnet polishes from HSN too. I am such a DL fan!
ReplyDeleteGreat swatches, now I'm more excited! Which is saying alot since I am a pink fan ;)
That is GORGEOUS!! NEED!
ReplyDeleteThis is stunning!!! I need this baby!
ReplyDeleteThis color is amazing! I have nominated you for The Versatile Blogger Award! Here are the

Wow. This is so gorgeous
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! I ordered it from HSN, too. By the way, they have a 15% off coupon for new customers good through 3/31: C11871
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing! Aaah... I may have to break down and actually buy a DL polish, thanks:P haha!
ReplyDeleteSo Beautiful, I just ordered it too! Had to have it after this post.
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing! DL has a huge hit with this one. Hope she makes enough and keeps em coming out of production into retail so we don't see the price zoom to $45 instantly on this one.
ReplyDeleteSo, I had an idea...I put on two coats of Butter London Disco Biscuit and then one of Essie Shine of the Times and then another of Disco Biscuit (flakie sandwich) and...almost a dupe of this! The flakies on my finished nails don't reflect as gold; more like gold covered in hot pink jelly, which I guess is sorta what they are, lol
ReplyDeleteBut if you're looking for a cool comparison, I'd recommend it! I just thought I'd try it, as I already had DB and SotT and liked the look of a flakie sandwich. :)
Just used this polish and I kinda love it. It's not too loud but the flakes definitely give it a little pizazz. I totally agree with you 100% that it is similar to CG Strawberry Fields but DIFFERENT. They're like cousins or something. Anyway great polish and I look forward to using more Deborah Lippman polishes
