Today I have a comparison for you guys. Recently, Jessica came out with a polish called Iridescent Eye. I heard about it over on Make Up Alley a little while back, when I came across the Jessica booth at ISSE I had to pick up a bottle to bring it home and see if it really was a dupe to Chanel Peridot. It's very rare that I buy into Chanel hype and fork over the big bucks for one of their polishes....it seems like every single time I do someone comes around and dupes it then I feel like an idiot. This is definitely one of those times. Jessica Iridescent Eye is a spot on dupe for Peridot. If I hadn't labeled which finger was which polish I wonder how many of you would have known it was even different! Formula wise I actually prefer the Jessica polish, the formula was a little thicker and easier to apply. I used 2 coats of polish for each.
Price wise, Jessica retails for $7.50 a bottle, Chanel $26...the Jessica bottle is also bigger 0.5 fl oz as opposed to the Chanel which is 0.4 fl oz.
Surprisingly, Chanel Peridot is still available on their website, for a whopping $26. Jessica is available here on Jessica's website for $7.50. I'm sure you know which I'd recommend...the Jessica version. I don't see the point in buying the Chanel unless you want it just for the brand name.

Thanks for the comparison! It's crazy how much alike they are.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I bought the Chanel one. Not because it's CHANEL, but because they were the ones to come up with the color. And Jessica just flat-out copied it. You see, I don't really like companies stealing from each other.
ReplyDeleteThey are really close - and very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAnother very close dupe is the the German polish called Absolute Nails Fireworks (I have swatches on my blog), gorgeous, and with that I don't need the Chanel :)

ReplyDeleteThanks for this recommendation! I cannot imagine spending $26 on a polish unless it was absolutely mind blowing, so knowing there is a very affordable dupe out there is awesome! I'll be getting this one in the very near future.
ReplyDeleteGreat comparison shots! And yes, albeit the hype Peridot has created, it hasn't been sold out in the UK either! I also found Hidden Treasure from Topshop a close dupe ^^
ReplyDeleteI have yet to see a Chanel that I absolutely need. I've got Zoya Raven that is a dupe (but can't remember the Chanel name) and Hard Candy Sky, which is close to Riva. I do like this one, so I might pick it up. I'm too cheap to drop $26 for a bottle of polish!
ReplyDeleteWow those are close. I already got the Chanel one, but now i want the jessica one too! thanks for posting the comparision :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comparison Jen! I love posts like these. I'm always up for saving some money. I actually don't own any Chanel polishes - I try to not even look at them, LOL! It really is a beautiful color though. Do you know of any stores that sell Jessica or can you only buy online?
ReplyDeleteUnreal. I have the Chanel but if I'd only known I'd be able to buy more polish instead of paying for the Chanel.
ReplyDeleteI get where you're coming from but everyone copies everyone. I'm happy the companies are putting out affordable dupes to high end polishes like Chanel. Not everyone can afford to spend $26 on 1 bottle of polish!
ReplyDeleteShipping on the Jessica website is as much as the polish! EEEk!!! I am mulling it over....
ReplyDeleteWOW. They look identical!
ReplyDeleteOooh, I like the Jessica color! I wish I knew where they sold that in a real store so I could pick it up without paying for shipping...
ReplyDeleteThank you! I absolutely love your comparisons!

I wish I could tell you! I've never seen Jessica polish in an actual store. I asked them about it at ISSE and was told they are working on having wider distribution...hopefully that happens soon!
ReplyDeleteWOW! That is mos def a spot on dupe! And a third of the cost of the Chanel. Crazy.
ReplyDeleteThis is exact!
ReplyDeleteThat's one good dupe!
ReplyDeleteThat is the best dupe I have every seen. Exact match!
ReplyDeleteOh, thanks a lot this is a great tip! they look the same and I don´t see the point of spending so much money in luxury brands
ReplyDeleteWow! I wouldn't have even known they were a different polish if it wasn't labelled. Excellent swatch, thanks!! :)
ReplyDeleteYou're right...these do look exactly alike. I love your comparison posts, btw :)
ReplyDeleteI've never found a store that carries this brand, unfortunately :( I did ask them about it at ISSE and they said they are working on changing that!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the swatches:) I bought Ozotic 507 a while ago to kill this lemming, but I wish I would have waited (and saved myself like $10) and bought the Jessica one!
ReplyDeleteAh..super dupes! Nice. Looks like O.P.I will have a dupe in their spidey collection too!
ReplyDeleteWow! This is an exact dupe at a fraction of the cost! Not sure I really love either of them, though. Cool comparison swatches.
ReplyDeleteI just have to laugh because this is an EXACT dupe! Thanks for sharing. I will be trying Jessica.
ReplyDeleteI admit, I caved and finally got Chanel Peridot. It's probably the only bottle of Chanel I'll ever get (nothing has really wowed me lately) so it's a nice thing for a collector.
ReplyDeleteBUT I did get the whole trio of the Jessica Polishes which are total dupes! I do think the Chanel has a bit more depth in the sparkle but really, it's definitely a dupe. The other two Jessica colors are Chanel dupes and gorgeous....want to do a mani w/ all 3.
What's horrible is how here in Singapore, OPI costs around US$18... Why is polish so expensive? ugh
ReplyDeleteI don't regret buying the Chanel. I had the color while the trend was super hot, and not watching everyone else wearing it and waiting for a dupe to come out! :)
