Happy hump day! Today I have a special polish to show you, this created quite a stir in our little community a little while back but that's not why it's special for me. This polish was one I had unsuccessfully tried to buy a few times then it unexpectedly arrived at my house on Saturday as a surprise from a lovely reader named Tina. I could not believe my eyes when I opened the package and saw Stick 'n Stones along with 2 Nail-Venturous polishes. It is probably the most thoughtful, nice surprise I have ever received. Big thank you to Tina and my lovies at Ninja Polish <3
Sticks 'n Stones is a mix of black and white glitter in a clear base. There is also a tiny bit of iridescent glitter mixed in, you can't see it in my photos but you could see it sparkle a little in person! This created a stir because it's the closest dupe we've seen to the infamous and impossible to get
Lynnderella Connect The Dots. It's not an exact dupe but it's pretty close, if you want to see them side by side My Lucid Bubble did a great comparison that you can check out
here. She also included Dollish Polish Putting On the Ritzzz which is like the non bar glitter version of these polishes, I'll have swatches of that beauty up sometime this week (or maybe early next week)! Formula wise Sticks 'n Stones was a little thick, it was easy to apply but I would advise giving the bottle a good shake before you apply it so that it's easier to get a lot of glitter on the brush. I used 1 coat of Sticks & Stones over Zoya Jancyn for the photos below.

Awwww...Tina is such a sweetheart! Looks great!
ReplyDeletesuper cute combination. My first thought was: "Halloween". :)
ReplyDeleteI like that!
Same here with the Halloween sentiment! Perfect mani for Halloween!
DeleteI'm wearing Sticks n Stones right now too :) I love it!
ReplyDeleteAhh, one of my lemmings :) - it looks gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteI love this :D
ReplyDeletei'm in the endless waiting list for the lyinnderella... And now, I think I like this one even more! i hope it will be easy to get!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the beautiful pictures!
I really like CtD but it as it is impossible to get, like most of the Lynns, I ordered this one, too. I am wearing it right now over Essence Mojito Green and love it! Layered over orange it looks great, almost a bit Halloween like. It's so bold and eyecatchting <3
ReplyDeleteIt is interesting to see the differences between the 2 polishes. They look very different up close.
ReplyDeletei love it!!
ReplyDeleteI like this polish. This is really different from Lynderella's Connect the Dots. I rather like the hex rather than the dot glitter. Hex seems to really show up better than just dots. I like it a lot!
ReplyDeleteLove this! I have been trying to get Connect the Dots since you posted swatches, so I'll be looking for this one instead. I'm getting so discouraged because it seems like every cool polish is sold out right now ... argh!
ReplyDeleteI love the orange/dot combo. I've been this one on my "notify" list at Ninja, hopefully I'll get it next time it comes online! :-) Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteI love this color combination, this and when its put over pink are my favorite. I'm so glad I could do it. I love your blog and your pictures and why not give back to the bloggers that do so much for us. I watched you struggle to get it, while sick and while working and I thought something so small can really make a person smile . It made my day to know that would be arriving and very difficult to keep my big mouth shut and not tell you lol. I couldn't have done it without the amazing Ninja's at Ninja Polish
ReplyDeleteLove love love! Also love how you did it over orange, gives a bit of a Halloween-y look to it =)
ReplyDeleteCoolest glitter top coat ever
ReplyDeleteYou are such a sweetheart Tina! I think the most rewarding part of blogging for me has been meeting wonderful ladies like you along the way ♥
ReplyDeleteI have signed up for email notification 3 times, and each time Sticks 'n Stones was sold out. I wish they would take my name or let me buy it, knowing it is on back order because it is in such high demand, I don't know if I'll EVER get it. Frustration city! :)
ReplyDeleteLoving the oranges now - but not this one - it's to Halloween looking - esp with the black from the Sticks N Stones...but lucky you to have a bottle of Sticks N Stones - or the one similar to it floating out there in indie land and as hard to get as Sticks N' Stones! I have made my own Sticks N Stones with Nubar Polka Dot (bk and wh) then added a little bit of bar glitter to a clear top coat bottle. Works great!
ReplyDeleteOh - forgot to add - love, love Putting On the Ritzzz from Ninja - actually like it better than the impossible to get Lynderella. Lynderella needs to up their production some how to meet the frenzy over their polishes. I feel sorry for Leah Ann trying to market it for them.

ReplyDeleteI prefer this one!
ReplyDeleteI completely understand and feel your frustration. I had the same problem with this and only have it out of the kindness of someone's heart. The indie craze is so hot right now, it makes getting some of these polishes damn near impossible. I hope you manage to snag a bottle soon!
ReplyDeleteHello! I just got into painting my fingernails, and love you blog! Gives me so many ideas =) I am having a lot of
ReplyDeletetrouble with tip wear, and it is driving me crazy! Within 48 hours, my tip
wear is so bad that I have to remove my manicure. Do you have any
advice? Does it have mostly to do with the quality of the actual nail
polish, or the quality of the base and top coat? If so, what are your
favorite base and top coats to protect against tip wear? Thanks!
Have you tried wrapping the tip of your nail with polish? I usually do it with each coat of polish, you just run a small amount of polish along the tip then polish the rest of your nail normally. You could also try a sticky base coat like Orly Bonder or CND Stickey...those are my go-to's!
ReplyDeleteI loved Lynderella's Connect the Dots from the moment I saw it...I also love this one. I can't decide which one I like more though! I keep going back and forth, I love this one because it's a bit more simple and clean looking but Connect the Dots reminds me more of something from the 80's! I think I need both of them.
ReplyDeleteHaha, me too, thanks Jen! I should clarify, in the grand scheme of things, it's pretty low on my frustration list. Crazy high gas prices cutting into my budget, high on the list, not being able to get a nail polish I like, not so much! I am tempted to try & "make my own" with either Nubar polka dot or another indie brand black glitter & white glitter I saw on etsy...I'll keep ya posted :)
