Deborah Lippmann Ray of Light

TGIF!! Hope you're all having a good day so far! Today I have a gorgeous new Deborah Lippmann polish to show you guys! A while back a picture of Deborah's 4 spring shades made it's way online and the bottle shot of this one was absolutely incredible. I feel like I've been waiting a billion years for it to finally get released, when I heard it was on HSN's website last week I hauled butt over to their site as fast as my fingers could type and bought it.

Ray of Light is red/green/yellow flakies in a dark navy base. Inside it sometimes looks like it leans a little bit purple but for the most part it looks dark blue. This is actually not at all what I expected it to be from that photo that was all over the place. In that photo it looked like a navy jelly with copper flakes. While I was a little sad that it wasn't that I am absolutely loving what Ray of Light turned out to be. Give me a navy jelly and I'll be happy, put flakies in it too and I might lose my mind. The formula on my bottle was a tiny bit thick, I ended up putting a few drops of thinner in it and it was perfection. It was also nice and opaque, I used 2 coats for the photos below. I love that the base is nice and opaque but the flakies still really stand out!

The first 3 photos below are in the shade and the 4th is in the sun!

Ray of Light can be purchased on HSN.com ($16) and LippmannCollection.com ($18). I believe it's sold out on HSN's site right now but you can still grab it on Deborah's site....it's at the very bottom of the shopping page!

  4. Another awesome flakie polish! Looks great. I wonder how similar it is to Cult Nails Seduction because I preordered their Divas & Drama collection which has this purple flakie that looks similar in the bottle.

  7. I LOVE this! I don't have any Lippmann polishes just because it's a little expensive as a college student but this one I'm dying for

  9. Thanks for killing the lemming (that sounds sarcastic when I read it back, but I truly do mean thank you). Most of the shots I see of this just showed the blurple base with the flakies in their orange state, and I liked that. If I'd bought it before seeing how they flash to green, I would've been so disappointed when I got it. If I want that look, I can just add the flakie topcoats I already have.

  11. hmmm, i think i'm disappointed. i was really hoping for copper flakes/glitter. your swatches are beautiful, better than the others i've seen but it's just not what i was expecting. i think i could easily achieve this look with a navy jelly and a flakie topcoat :/

  15. GORGEOUS!! I actually got this in last week and I cannot wait to wear it! I'm actually new to Deborah Lippmann polishes and so far, I love them! My first polishes were from her "Resort" Spring 2012 Collection  ("Mermaid's Dream" and "On The Beach") and I got plenty of compliments on them! They are absolutely amazing! I also snagged "Sweet Dreams" a couple of weeks back and I haven't worn it yet. Excellently beautiful photographs! You are, hands down, my favorite nail polish blogger! :)

  23. Thank you! I was thinking of getting this polish but saw on a number of reviews it was too thick. Funny I was thinking there has to be a way to thin them then WA-LA I saw your review!!! Thanks!
