Happy weekend! Since today is St. Patrick's Day I decided to do something festive. I thought it would be a good idea to water marble. I love how water marbling looks, when other people do it I'm always all ohhhhh. Then when I try to do it I end up wanting to stab everything after I have the urge to throw my cup of water at the wall.
That said, I am happy with how this turned out. I only wanted to throw my cup of water at the wall once or twice. It's not perfect but the little flaws are not obvious in real life (damn you macro photos for the blog!). For the marble I used China Glaze Holly-Day, China Glaze Gaga For Green and Butter London Bumster. They all spread really well and didn't dry super fast so they were easy to marble with. For the base of this mani it was a light pink Essie (the name totally escapes me right now, sorry!). I've had the base color on for almost a week and I was too lazy to remove it since I didn't think the water marble would work lol!
Hope you all have a great weekend and a wonderful St. Patrick's Day! If you guys have never heard of water marbling and want to learn how to do this I would suggest watching My Simple Little Pleasure's youtube channel, she is the queen of water marbles, you can find her channel here!

ReplyDeleteNice job! I love water marbles, but definetly need to have the day off so I can be patient with finding colors that work. The taping and cleanup is the worst part for me.
ReplyDeleteNice job!! I used those 2 greens for my shamrock marble and they worked really well. I think China Glaze is my favorite brand for marbling. I see you get the water spots too... I still haven't figured out how to avoid them!! I think maybe pulling your hand out of the water really slow, but I still get them :)
ReplyDeleteuh i love the color combo! you just done a great job! you should do more marble nail art you good at it!
ReplyDeleteTHIS LOOKS AMAZING.
ReplyDeleteWow! It came out really nice. I love water marble but it's such a process!

ReplyDeleteLooks great!
ReplyDeleteLove a good water marble. I am so not good at it yet. My fav color used is Gaga for Green - I am nuts over that shade for some reason as it's not that unusual....but I avoided getting a lot of these kind of shades in the past. This year I have really opened up to more shades then I used to feel were in my comfort zone and having a ton of fun with them. This is the year to sport all kinds of colors. I mean if Joan Rivers can wear green, burple and bright blue nails - it's beyond gone main stream and I should not feel like a teen or 20 something in these fun shades on my fingers and not just reserve them for my toes as I had been doing.
ReplyDeleteYours is my fave st patty's day mani!!! Beautiful

ReplyDeleteAlas, I have never had a successful water marble
ReplyDeleteThis turned out GORGEOUS!! I finally did a successful water marble on a false nail, mainly as proof of concept. I'm always too anxious to try a full manicure because up til now I've had no luck! I'm planning one maybe tomorrow or the next day, though.
ReplyDeletelove! and those colors go perfect together!
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing! I love reading your blogs and this is no exception!

ReplyDeleteits gorgeous...love it
ReplyDeleteGosh that came out great! How do you get your lines so thing? I've tried several times and I suck at this. I'd rather paint tiny flowers and faces before marbling.
ReplyDeleteThat looks amazing! I attempted water marbling once, it didn't go well and I have tried since haha. I gotta give it a second shot though, I love how it looks
