Morning! Today I have a few comparisons of some of the polishes form OPI's Amazing Spiderman Collection and OPI's Vintage Minnie Mouse Collection. If there are any other comparisons you want to see please let me know in the comments, if I own the polish you want to see them compared to I'm happy to do it :)
First up is Butter London Disco Biscuit vs. OPI I'm All Ears vs. China Glaze 108 Degrees. They are all very similar, Disco Biscuit is a tiny bit lighter and brighter than I'm All Ears and 108 Degrees...it's more noticeable in the second photo. The shimmer is more micro glitter like in Disco Biscuit and more glass fleck like in I'm All Ears and 108 Degrees. Really, the differences are pretty minimal! For the photos below I used 4 coats of polish for Disco Biscuit and 3 coats for I'm All Ears and 108 Degrees.
OPI If You Moust You Moust vs. OPI Shorts Story. This was requested by Notaj! I'd say they are pretty good dupes, if you have Shorts Story I'd pass on If You Moust You Moust. I used 2 coats of each for the photo below.
Chanel Peridot vs OPI Just Spotted The Lizard. Again, pretty much dupes here. The OPI looked to have more blue in the bottle but it didn't translate onto the nail. I used 2 coats for each polish in the photo below.
OPI Number One Nemesis vs OPI Brand New Skates. This was requested by Melanie. Unfortunately, they aren't too close, but they are both very pretty! I know a lot of people have been saying Number One Nemesis is close to Chanel Graphite but I don't own it or any of it's close dupes to compare it to. I used 3 coats of Number One Nemesis and 4 coats of Brand New Skates for the photos below.
These 2 photos are a tiny bit blurry, sorry about that :(

Chanel Peridot vs OPI Just Spotted The Lizard- wow they really look the same. I really wanted the Chanel one but now don't see a reason to pay the Chanel price if I can get the OPI for way cheaper- thanks
ReplyDeleteThanks for these comparisons. I have 108 Degrees and I had no idea it was a dupe! Awesome swatches as always!
ReplyDeleteChanel Peridot and OPI Just Spotted The Lizard are identical!!! WOW!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comparisons! I've been kind of lemming Disco Biscuit but I had a feeling it was dupey to 108 Degrees which I already own so now I know and can definitely pass on it.
ReplyDeleteCen't wait to get the OPI Spiderman ones!!
ReplyDeleteI also want Disco Biscuit, love the stand-out, glowy, blue-ish micro glitter!
Awesome swatches! Really great to know there are cheaper options to getting great colours.

I spotted Chanel Peridot in the mall near me, it works out to the equivelant of $43 USD!!! I'd love to get the OPI dupe of it at some point, so pretty. Not that OPI is cheap, but I'll take $10 over $43 any day!
ReplyDeleteI don't think they'll be dupes but Number One Nemesis reminds me of Sparitual Sacred Ground *hint hint*. Lovely swatches as always. This might be weird to say, but I love the font you use :D

ReplyDeleteAh, dupes... Annoying when you're excited for new colours, but great when they're so much cheaper than the high end originals!
ReplyDeletethank you! looks like I don't need if you moust you moust!
ReplyDeleteDisco biscuit looks really simulair, nice :)
ReplyDeleteVery helpful comparisons! Thanks!
ReplyDeletegreat comparison, thank you! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat post Jen! I saw Scrangie say that NON is probably a Graphite dupe, do you have that so you can compare?
ReplyDeletethanks for the comparison! i wanted disco biscuit and i'm all ears, but looks like i don't need them since i already have 108 degrees. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't own that Chanel, I mentioned it in the post :)
ReplyDeleteThat is amazing how similar the polishes are! Thanks for the comparisons! :)
ReplyDeleteHi! Thanks for the comparison post!! Those are always fun to see. By any chance, could you compare essie too too hot, essie camera and opi charged up cherry? Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could but I don't own either of the other polishes you mentioned :(
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comparisons! I really like Disco Biscuit, but not enough to pay Butter London prices for it. Knowing that there's two close dups for it really excites me...I want to get the whole Minnie Mouse collection and seems like that will be perfect for filling my desire for the color!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for doing the NON/BNS comparison, they are definitely not dupes in any way! I do like my BNS better, but it's always been one of my favorites so I'm a bit partial. ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks sooooo much for doing comparisons! These help so much, esp when $ is tight and also you have a stash the size of mine and usually cannot find anything when you want it - like today - where are the 2 other shades of my Nubar Flecks???? I have Disco Bis. & 108 Degrees so no on the All Ears - I really love fuchsias so it would have been a hard one for me to turn down. I am wondering also if in with these 3 is the ' Be a Dahlia Won’t You?' from OPI's Nice Stems collection is not close in there too - might be a tish lighter. Chanel Graphite and One More Nemesis are really close looking at this point to me, but I don't have side by side look/see yet. Peridot I did not like on myself - so won't be buying Lizard. Have Short Story and I bet a lot of others that are good matches for the hot pink cream mouse!
ReplyDeleteI so appreciate you taking the time to do this. What cracks me up are the two OPI's that are, for all practical purposes, dupes. Anyhoo, many thanks!
ReplyDeleteawesome comparison, thank you!!
ReplyDeleteMy suspicions are confirmed. *sigh* I need Disco Biscuit! :P
ReplyDeleteGreat swatches! I was wondering how the reds compared in the Spiderman, Minnie, and (Im drawing a blank for SOME reason?!?!) the new summer one..lol "Red Lights Ahead..Where" Im just wondering since I have "Red lights Ahead..Where.." If I should still purchase the reds from the other two collections. Also, to me it seems "Pink Friday" is lighter than "Moust" is it that way in real life> I know how tricky the photos can be. Thanks hun! Keep up the great work! Best nail polish blogger yet!! Also, do you have a Facebook??
ReplyDeleteThere wasn't a red in the Spiderman collection, there aren't any dupes within Spiderman & Minnie...not sure if that's good news or bad news lol! Red Lights Ahead...Where unfortunately isn't a dupe for anything in either collection :(
ReplyDeleteYou're right about Pink Friday, it's lighter!
My Facebook page is Facebook.com/ThePolishAholic :)
I just started getting into OPI last year, after their Pirates of the Caribbean line was released but I wouls sooo die for that Chanel Peridot!
ReplyDeleteNON and Revlon Carbonite are dupes. I got a bottle of Carbonite at Big Lots months ago for 1.50.
ReplyDeleteUgggh absolutely loved moust and instantly thought it was a dupe of shorts story which I have, glad someone else pointed it out. guess I don't need it! Thanks for the comparisons

ReplyDeleteI have both and I don't think they are. Even if they look similar, the formulas are so different.
ReplyDeleteThanks for doing the comparison between "The Lizard" and "Peridot". I've wanted the Chanel one for the last year, but there was no way I was paying that much for a polish (if I could even find it!). Just ordered the OPI polish! :-)
ReplyDeleteIf I'm All Ears is a close dupe for 108 Degrees that means it is also a close dupe for Be a Dahliah Wont You.
ReplyDeleteThey are pretty close. I went to the store with Carbonite swatched on a nail and compared to the sample swatch at ULTA. Plus, Carbonite is a dupe for the chanel polish which means that it is essentially the same as the OPI.
ReplyDeleteI was debating between If You Moust You Moust and The Color of Minnie... you made it much easier for me!
ReplyDeleteGlad I could help!
ReplyDeleteHey! :]Can you please make another one of these? But can you compare them to other brands? like sally hansen? Orly? Essie? I would really appreciate it, if you can't then i'd understand
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, I'm not planning any more comparisons for these shades unless something new is released and is a dupe of something from either collection...I just don't have time :(
