Happy Wednesday!! Today I have another new OPI collection to show you guys, it's the Vintage Minnie Mouse Collection! This collection brings us 4 new polishes, all pink or red. Usually I wouldn't be excited about a collection like that but it's inspired by Minnie Mouse so I am an instant fan! I was born and raised (and still live) about 20 minutes away from Disneyland in Anaheim, CA. I grew up on Disney, I've been to Disneyland a bazillion times...I was all about Minnie when I was a kid. I was also all about Ariel from The Little Mermaid, I wish someone would do a collection inspired by her!

I'm All Ears is a a bright pink jelly-ish polish with blue/purple shimmer. I've heard a few people saying this might be a dupe of Butter London Disco Biscuit, I haven't put them side by side but this seems a little bit darker. It could be a good alternative if you don't need an exact dupe. I will be doing a comparison soon, just haven't had time yet! The formula was nice, it was a little sheer but it built up nicely. I used 3 coats for the photos below.
If You Moust You Moust is a bright light pink. This is much brighter than some of the other light pink's we've seen this year, like OPI Pink Friday and China Glaze Dance Baby. The formula was okay, it was a little on the watery side for how I like my polish but it was easy to apply. I used 2 coats for the photos below.
The Color Of Minnie is a shimmery red. I love this polish, it's one of those ones that looks like ribbon candy. The formula on this was really nice, I used 2 coats for full opacity. It was super pigmented so you do want to be careful when you apply it (clean up was a pain)! It's also one you want to be careful removing so it doesn't stain the skin around your fingers!
Nothin' Mousie 'bout It is a glitter top coat packed with purple and orange flecks of shimmer and heart glitter! I always love these glitters in the bottle then I try to put it on and they are always a pain to apply. This is unfortunately no exception to that. The heart glitter in the bottle is very abundant so I thought it would be easy to get on the nail, I was wrong.
Applying this normally I was lucky to get 1 heart on the nail...which you can see in the first photo. For all the other photos I gave up on trying to apply it normally and resorted to blobbing the polish onto a plate and fishing out the hearts with an orange stick. I placed the hearts on the nail and then went over it with the polish. This method was time consuming, but I liked the result. I really like the shimmer in this polish, I actually kind of wish they hadn't put the heart glitter in here!
Nothin' Mousie 'bout It over If You Moust You Moust
Nothin' Mousie 'bout It over I'm All Ears. This was my favorite combo, the shimmer of Nothin' Mousie 'bout It mixed with the shimmer in I'm All Ears was awesome!
Nothin' Mousie 'bout It over The Color Of Minnie. I went a little overboard with placing the hearts here haha
Overall, not the most original collection ever but I do like it. I love I'm All Ears and Nothin' Mousie 'bout It (even though the hearts were hard to apply).
The Vintage Minnie Mouse Collection will be available beginning June 2012 at professional salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for $8.50 ($9.95 CAN) suggested retail for each Nail Lacquer.

These are the best swatches of this collection I have seen - you make me want them all! That red is gorgeous, I know we all complain that OPI does too much red and pink.. but my oh my dont they do them well.
ReplyDeletexxxx
Nothing mousie looks like a dupe for And This Little Piggy but with hearts! Luv the bubblegum pink one!! The hearts can be a pain to apply, fishing for hearts I call it, lol!!
ReplyDeleteI'm All Ears is just gorgeous, I'm so going to have to get it.
ReplyDeleteLoving your reviews!
Wow! I like these much more than expected now seeing them swatched :)
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!! I know it's not the most original ever, but it's Minnie Mouse goddammit!! (and you live close to Anaheim?? can I come to see you the day I go to Disney Heaven? ;) ). I'm a huge fan too (going to Disneyland Paris in two days for my bday), so I have to have them!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm so going to get the mini set. I'm a sucker for pink and shimmer.
ReplyDeleteNice swatches! And I am right there with you...I would FLIP OUT over a Little Mermaid collection!! =)
ReplyDeleteI love it! It's so cute!! Maybe the colors are not the most unique, but they are beautiful!! Do you think the heat glitter is a dupe of NOPI Love your Life? I have that one and placing the hearts is a PITA :-(
ReplyDeleteGreat swatches!!! Thanks!
I already have Nothin' Mousie About It on my wishlist!
ReplyDeletei'm all ears i love itttttt ! This collection is so cute
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure bout this collection. I already have soooo many pinks. I think I'll want 'If you Moust you Moust' because I don't have anything like that, It would help complete my pink collection. :) I have NOPI 'Have a Heart' and the hearts are hard to get out. I especially like Nothin' Mousie 'bout It over I'm All Ears!
ReplyDeleteThis collection is adorable! I was worried it would be really dull in the preview pictures, but I may have to nab a few of these.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I think I'll pick up Nothin' Mousie 'bout It and I'm All Ears. I really like the topcoat even without the hearts... which is good, because hearts and shapes tend to drive me crazy trying to get out of the bottle!
ReplyDeleteI saw a swatch yesterday of Nothing Mousie About it over a black creme, and it was stunning.
ReplyDeleteI agree, I'm always wanting less red but they do them so well! I love the red in this collection!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
ReplyDeletewoohoo! I liked them much more in real life than I did in the bottle shots OPI showed a little while ago!
ReplyDeleteheck yes, come on down lol!
ReplyDeleteyay! I think I'm going to get a couple of the mini sets to give as gifts!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm kind of surprised no one has done a Little Mermaid set, maybe Disney will re-release the movie and someone will do a tie in collection. I would be SO excited!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I don't have that Nicole by OPI to compare it but I don't remember the shimmer in the base of that being like the shimmer in Nothin' Mousie 'bout It. This one applies like how you mentioned though, it was worth picking out the hearts and placing them!
ReplyDeleteyay! You're going to love it in person when you get it!
ReplyDeleteI think so too, OPI did well with the Minnie Mouse theme!
ReplyDeleteIt seems like all these polishes with fancy glitter like hearts are SO hard to apply. It's too bad they can't make an easy to use one :(
ReplyDeleteThat combo was my favorite too, it was so beautiful in person!
The topcoat is great without the hears, I would have been happy if they had just left the hearts out all together!
ReplyDeleteI need to try that!
ReplyDeleteThis is way prettier than I was expecting! When I saw the press release I was sooo disappointed, but I swear your awesome swatches can make me want to buy anything! The colors all look great on you!
ReplyDeleteJust wondering how close "If you moust you moust" is to OPI's "shorts story" and other pinks of the same family? Loving this collection and like you I wish they would do an Ariel inspired collection! I love the little mermaid!
ReplyDeletewow, they look so great. love them :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!! The polishes are beautiful, much better than I was expecting from the press release!
ReplyDeleteI definitely will, I'll have a whole post of comparisons soon!
ReplyDeleteI agree - I actually like these though I didn't think I would. The Color of Minnie is a must have! If You Moust You Moust & Nothin Mousy Bout It look super good together so I might have to get those too :) Thanks for sharing these swatches!
ReplyDeleteA general question I have for you - I've wondered this forever about nail polish bloggers. Do you do all these paint jobs & swatches all in one sitting? Or do you wait a few days to wear the polish? I wonder because I would think it would be such a waste of a good polish job to just take it off but I also realize it would be super time consuming to wait in between. Totally curious about your method.... :)
I usually swatch everything in one sitting during the weekend then I wear what I love during the week!
ReplyDeleteThat last combo is so gorgeous, really love it!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you swatched these because I have been dying to get a look at them! in fact your blog seems to be my best bet for any new collection swatches :) please keep 'em coming, it's so helpful! I'm not really into pink polish, but these are cute. I think I'll have to grab the heart glitter because it's so unique.
ReplyDeleteI think I'm a real dork but I looooooooooooove the hearts :)
ReplyDeleteI love all the polishes, they are all very cute except the heart one XD
ReplyDeleteha ha
thanks for the swatches ^_^!
Ohmigosh. Yep, I need these. I too, was a CA girl - born and bred, left when I was about 25. And ALL about Disney! Not the most original no, but if it is Minnie, I want it :-) Great swatches!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE pinks and reds. And I love Minnie Mouse! This collection is a need in my life! And, a whole Princess collection would be awesome...Ariel, Belle, Snow White, etc...it could be amazing!
ReplyDeleteI love If You Moust You Moust, and Nothing Mousie About It. So pretty <3
ReplyDeleteNicole by OPI has a top coat similar to Nothing Mouse About it...are they similar or is the Nicole one better to apply?
ReplyDeleteI love them. I know I'll hate fighting to place those hearts, but I'll do it! Can't wait for these!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Betty, a whole Princess collection would be awesome! And someone has done a collection inspired by Ariel,

I need I'm All Ears and The Color of Minnie!
ReplyDeleteI love the Miniie one. That's exactly the kind of red I'm drawn to. I know I'll be getting that one.
ReplyDeleteA Little Mermaid inspired collection would be awesome! Also I'm so jealous, I'd love to go to Disneyland but never been there!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cute collection, I want I'm All Ears and the heart glitter! :)
I love I'm All Ears so much after seeing your beautiful swatches! :D
ReplyDeleteGorgeous swatches :) I love this collection!
ReplyDeleteI love this collection especially the hearts.. :D
ReplyDeleteI'm super excited for "I'm All Ears", it reminds me of a discontinued OPI color "Far East Fuchsia". (Maybeline also had an almost identical color with the same name in the early 2000's when I was in high school.) It's a color I've been trying to get my hands on for a long time. It looks a little bit more glittery than FEF, but I'll take what I can get. LOL.
ReplyDeleteAwwwww i love this already :)) Fab post!!xxx
ReplyDeleteThese are very nice colors but I dont think im really into them. I feel like you can find these colors anywere, especially the bright pink and the hearts polish. Actually Opi's Nicole have the heart polish already I see it all the time on the shelf in walmart. But not trying to diss the collection or anything but I think this is a skip for me..Thanks for the swatches though! =)
ReplyDeletethey are gorgeous and so far the best swatches i've seen
ReplyDeletethanks
I really love how your swatch of Nothin' Mousie 'bout It showed the flecks of shimmer, which I thought weren't there! I was wondering if I'm All Ears is in the same color family of OPI's Dim Sum Plum? DSP looked amazing on swatches on awful for my skin tone :(
ReplyDeleteSinful Colors - Forget Now might be a dupe for I'm All Ears. There's also a similar LA Girl polish that I've had my eye on.
ReplyDeleteI am with you, those are pretty but kind of boring for the most part, even though I love Minnie! And I would be THRILLED if OPI or someone came out with a Little Mermaid collection! I would seriously buy all of them, and I'm not normally one to buy entire collections of polish (except for the Miss Universe collection - I HAD to have all of those!)....I imagine a yellowy-gold shimmery polish with bright blue hexagonal and tiny glitter in it for Flounder, a gorgeous red for Ariel's hair, a lilac for her shell-bra, metallic shimmery bright sea-foam green for her tail, a purple/black/white/silver glitter for Ursula....the possibilities are endless!

ReplyDeleteThese are pretty for pinks and reds. I like your last combo the most, but definitely don't see myself going for any of these.
ReplyDeletehow do you take care of your cuticles and skin around your nails? they look so good!
ReplyDeleteThank you Deborah!!
ReplyDeleteGlad I am helpful! Hope you love the glitter!
ReplyDeletelol no you aren't! I love them too!
ReplyDeleteGlad you like them!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
ReplyDeleteGlad you like them, they are pretty! I loved them together too!
ReplyDeleteI don't own the Nicole by OPI polish but I looked up the swatches and the glittery base it's in looks pretty different
ReplyDeleteIt's worth worth the battle, the hearts are too cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to be stalking that etsy! the glitters look awesome, thank you for the link!
ReplyDeleteHope you can get your hands on them, they are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteMe too, I love glowy red shimmery polishes like that!
ReplyDeleteI think I'd die of excitement if it happened with a major brand!
ReplyDeletethank you! Hope you can get your hands on that one!
ReplyDeleteThank you! ♥
ReplyDeleteMe too, the hearts are so cute!
ReplyDeletewoohoo, it always feels nice to kill a long time lemming like that!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
ReplyDeleteThank you! ♥
ReplyDeleteIt might pull differently on your skintone but Dim Sum Plum pulls a lot more purple on me than I'm All Ears does! Hopefully it works for you!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I don't have either of those to compare but hopefully someone will be able to see if they are close!
ReplyDeleteI like the way you think! I'd die if someone did a Little Mermaid Collection like you described!
ReplyDeleteThey aren't for everyone! The last combo was pretty great in person!
ReplyDeleteI moisturize my hands a lot! I think that's the key!
ReplyDeleteThat would be awesome, I would love a collection like that!
ReplyDelete:) The base of Nicole by OPI's heart glitter polish is pretty different (this one is much prettier in my opinion) but not everyone is weird and notices (or cares) about little things like that!
ReplyDelete"The Color Of Minnie" looks almost suspiciously like "Log on to Love," from the E-Romance collection -- any idea how they compare?
ReplyDeleteI don't own that polish so I'm not sure how they compare, sorry!
ReplyDeleteTY!
ReplyDeleteReally nice colours but not too different from other OPI colours I own! However Nothin' Mouse About It looks interesting and I think little girls would love it, they would be great for little princess manicures! (And as a child The Little Mermaid was my favourite too so I agree that they should bring out a collection inspired by Ariel!)
ReplyDeleteZoe x
This is a fantastic collection. I may need all of these in my life. That is the prettiest heart glitter. LOVE.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see OPI adding some more pink and reds to their collection. "Im All Ears" is my favorite from this collection. Do you guys know where I can purchase this set at? I'm trying to find the mini polish set, but i'm not even sure if they are making it for this collection.
ReplyDeleteNo minister as far as I am aware. Sons and stores such as Trade Secret or Ukraine are your best bet.
DeleteAnd I thought I was the only one in need of a 12-step program! Must have The Color of Minnie & I'm All Ears. I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteInstead of having the top coat with hearts, it should have been tiny versions of minnie mouse's head or tiny bows like the ones on her shoes lol. I think OPI could have done better. Thanks for explaining how to apply the hearts i will be trying it tonight....
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone have or can do comparison swatches of Nicole by OPI Love Your Life and Nothin' Mousie 'Bout It?
ReplyDeleteAlso, OPI suggests holding the bottle upside down until the hearts sink and then tipping it on its side to open it. With this method, I've had very little issue getting hearts on the brush. You still need to place them but I've found this to beess time consuming.
Did anyone else find I'm All Ears to be very similar to OPI's Be a Dahlia Won't You? I can hardly tell a difference between the two shades.
ReplyDeleteDid anyone else find I'm All Ears to be very similar to OPI's Be a Dahlia Won't You? I can hardly tell a difference between the two shades.
ReplyDeleteI don't own It's All Greek To Me, I don't know how they compare...sorry!
ReplyDeleteIs I'm All Ears similar to It's All Greek to Me?
ReplyDeleteI JUST got my mitts on this collection and I agree the hearts are a bit of a pain in the butt, but what a great result!...Love your site in the office here in London xx
ReplyDeleteI WOULD SO BUY THAT. OPI are you listening?!
ReplyDeletenice colors. how do you get the polish on so perfectly?
ReplyDeleteA lot of practice...no real secrets to shade, sorry!
ReplyDelete
