Zoya Summer 2012 Beach Collection Swatches

Hi guys! Today I have my very first Summer collection of the year to show you! This is the first half of Zoya's Beach & Surf Collection for Summer 2012. I always look forward to Zoya's summer collections because they give us a nice mix of cremes and shimmers...they make me happy when I look at them! This half of the Beach & Surf Collection is made up of 5 cremes and one pearly shimmer polish. I can see myself wearing a lot of these on my fingers and my toes this year!

Click the Read More button below for swatches & reviews of each shade!

Arizona is a bright orange creme. I am absolutely loving this orange, it's no secret I love orange polish. What I like most about this one is that it's different than what we've been seeing, it is lighter and more of a yellow toned orange. It seems like lately all we see is red toned nearly neon oranges and this is such a welcome change. The formula was a bit on the thick side but application was easy...it was the tiniest bit streaky though. I used 3 coats for the photos below.

Lara is a medium rosy pink. Nothing to go crazy over but it's very pretty and flattering on my skin tone so I'm a fan. The formula was also a little thick on this one but again easy to apply, I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Reagan is a dark cool toned fuschia. This one is probably the only one that doesn't say Summer to me, it feels more fall. I do like it, I don't think it's the most unique polish ever but it's a good staple for any collection if you don't already have something like it. The formula was again thick but easy to apply, I used 2 coats. It actually looked really nice in 1 coat which I was happily surprised by!

Shelby is a light blue toned pink creme. I do like this one but I'm a bit burned out on light pinks, it seems like there was an abundance of them for Spring this year. This one is more blue toned than what we saw for Spring so maybe come summer I'll be more into wear it! The formula was thick, again...are we seeing a trend? I'm not complaining, I like thick cremes...they are easy to apply for me! This one did try to be streaky, I'd call it a careful 2 coater!

Tracie is a light yellow toned green with a silvery pearl like shimmer. I liked this in the bottle unfortunately it gives me corpse hands lol! If you have a darker skin tone I think this will be gorgeous on you, if you are pale and practically see though like me I'd stay away from Tracie! In the photo you can see brushstrokes but they were not as noticeable in real life! The formula was on the thick side, I used 2 coats for the photos below!

Wednesday is a dusty turquoise creme with green undertones. I can never get enough polishes like this, it's like a much bluer version of all the awesome dusty greens we saw for Spring. It's not a dupe for any of the Spring's dusty greens like Bevin but if you liked that polish I'm guessing you will like this one also! The formula was thick but easy to apply I used 2 coats!

Overall I like this half of the Beach & Surf Collection, it's not packed full of the most unique polishes ever but they are all very pretty and a good staple of any collection. My picks are Arizona and Wednesday! I also really enjoy Reagan even though I probably won't grab for it until Fall!

The Beach & Surf Collection is available on Zoya.com now, each polish retails for $8! I'm guessing it will probably be a couple months before we see these out at Ulta...my local Ulta just barely got Zoya's Spring Collection in stock!

  12. Wednesday and Arizona are definitely my faves from this collection also. I am so obsessed with orange polishes lately. And somehow I don't think I have any pinks like these ones in my collection so I may have to pick those up also. Great pics!

  16. I loved Arizona as soon as I saw it, definitely getting it! I also loved how Tracie looks but, with being extremely pale, I noticed how it would most likely make my hands look dead as you pointed out so, even though I love the color, I probably won't end up getting it. Thank you!
