Zoya Summer 2012 Surf Collection Swatches!

Hi guys! Today I have the second half of Zoya's Beach & Surf Collection for Summer 2012 to show you! In case you missed the first half you can check it out here! The Surf half of the collection is 6 gorgeous shimmery polishes, a couple of them are very foil like which I'm always a fan of! I gotta say, there is one polish in this collection that is blowing my mind, it's easily already on my 2012 favorites list...I bet you can guess which it is just from the collage below if you read my blog regularly!

The formula on all 6 of these was pretty consistent, they were all a little thick but very easy to work with...much like the Beach half of the collection! I used 2 coats for each polish below!

Carly is a dark red toned purple foil like shimmer. This feels a bit vampy for summer but shoot, who cares....it's awesome! I always love when Zoya does purples like this, it's like the brighter more vibrant version of Jem or Valerie. I am absolutely loving this, it looks like it glows when you step out in the sunlight!

Shade
Kimber is a dark almost red pink with a golden shimmer running throughout it. I wasn't expecting to like this one as much as I do. It reminds me of Zoya's Summer 2011 Collection...but better. The shimmer is just bright enough to catch your eye without overpowering the base color.

Shade
Meg is a yellow toned green with a golden foil like shimmer. I much prefer this green over Tracie from the Beach half of Zoya's Summer 2012 polishes. It's more wearable for my skintone. This one was also a very glowly looking polish out in the sun. It does remind me a bit of Apple which was in Zoya's 2011 Summer collection but it's not a dupe!

Shade
Myrta is an orange leaning coral shimmer. Ugh this polish, so gorgeous...such a pain to photograph. It has very strong red undertones and that was like all that my cameras could see. Both of the photos below are in the shade because it looked straight up red in all the photos I took in the sun. If you're on the fence about this color I would suggest googling swatches, it's one of those polishes that looks different and photographs different on everyone.

Rory is a bright lilac/pink with foil like shimmer. Depending on your skin tone I think this could pull either pink or lilac, on my skintone it pulls more to lilac. This is one of the most foil like polishes in this collection and I love that about it, I don't have any foils this shade!

Shade
Zuza is a turquoise shimmer. I love this polish so much, this is the one that went on my 2012 favorites before I even put it on. It was love at first sight! The color is so interesting, it's something I feel like I haven't seen. If you only get one polish from the entire Beach & Surf Collection this is my pick, it's perfection.

Shade
Overall, I really like this half of the Beach & Surf Collection. Zoya always does shimmers like these beautifully! My favorites are Zuza, Kimber, Rory and Carly.

The Beach & Surf Collection is available now on Zoya.com, each polish retails for $8!

  11. Can you please, please, please compare Essie Chinchilly with Orly Faint of Heart? I am ordering polishes in few days and cannot decide if I need Orly... are they the same?

  12. They are in the same color family but a little bit different. Chinchilly leans more brown and Faint of Heart leans more grey. Faint of Heart also has little black specks in it, Chinchilly is a straight up creme.

    Hope that helps!

  15. Could you post a comparison between Carly, Jem and Valerie? I love purples but I do not own any Zoya polish yet and I would like to pick up some when I will travel to the USA this summer!
