Layla Hologram Effect Jade Groove

Hi guys!! Today I have another ones of the awesome Layla hologram effect polishes to show you! Next to Flash Black this is my favorite, I really like the base color which is like a very light green. This one is also super holo, much like the others...but it seems like it's SO holo that that's all you see and I'm a fan of that haha!

For my base on this one I used Essie's Ridge Filling Base Coat. It was an okay base, not as good as an Aqua Base like Nfu Oh but if it's all you've got it certainly works if you are patient. This went on a bit patchy...it's best if you use a very light hand and do not go over spots multiple times. I used 3 coats to even Jade Groove all out!

All photos are in direct sunlight! As holo as it looks in this photos it was even better in real life!

Layla Hologram Effect polishes are available a whole bunch of places, they have finally landed at Ulta stores so if you have one an Ulta near you there is no need to buy online now!!  If you do want to buy online these can be found on AveYou.com, Zappos.com and HarlowandCo.org (and probably other places but those are the first that come to mind!)

  1. That's gorgeous! Is this opaque? Because if the answer is "no" this would be fantastic in layering.

  2. This is really nice, such a strong holo effect! I've seen those beauties at Ulta but needed to resist the urge to toss them in the cart due to their price tag... Now I wish I had.

You probably could layer with it, I think Mercury Twilight would be better for that though! I layered with that one and it looked awesome!

  6. So pretty!  My ULTA still doesn't have these, but the manager promised me these (and the OPI Spiderman Collection) were arriving on the truck Friday, and is putting some back for me.  I can't wait!

    1. I haven't been to Ulta in a bit but the local nail shop that I go to was almost cleaned out of the OPI Spiderman collection yesterday. I was lucky to get Just Spotted the Lizard and Number One Nemesis. I'll check out Ulta for Shatter the Scales.

  8. Jade Groove was definitely the most troublesome to apply out of the 4 I have! But well worth it because as you said it's really holo HOLO! I'm quite happy I bought this one over Mercury Twilight as I've heard they are quite similar in the end. And now I'm impatiently waiting for the 8 new shades :)

  9. I think holo polish would be the death of me if I ever wore it behind the wheel lol... ps based on your review of the Poppy Razzi collection I ordered Camera and am currently in the process of painting my nails (one handed typing hahaha) and I LOVE it! Thank you sooo much for the swatches. Now I think I have to get the rest...

  13. That is super pretty! Wet N Wild's Color Icon line has a similar holo I think.. Bow in my Presence, if I'm remembering right. It looks a lot like that and is only $4-$5!
