Happy Monday!! Hope you all had a good weekend! Today I have another one of the Layla holos to show you! This one is Mercury Twilight, the silver holo! I have a lot of silver holos but man...this is such a good one! I used Butter London Nail Foundation for my base coat with this, it was no bueno...I don't recommend it for these Layla holo polishes :( I needed 4 coats to even everything out since it was a patchy nightmare. It was worth the work because WOW but yeah...next time Aqua Base haha!
Since my camera failed to capture the awesome I took a little video with this one! Sometimes photos just really does not capture how amazing holographic polishes like these are...it's seriously dangerous to drive while wearing this polish! If the embedded video below doesn't work you can check the video out here: http://youtu.be/f8OgjCACf9o
Layla Hologram Effect polishes are available a whole bunch of places, they have finally landed at Ulta stores so if you have one an Ulta near you there is no need to buy online now(plus then you can use coupons yay)!! If you do want to buy online these can be found on AveYou.com, Zappos.com and HarlowandCo.org (and probably other places but those are the first that come to mind!)

Wow that looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteI have found this polish to be pretty patchy no matter what base coat I use. Totally worth the fight though!!!!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning!
ReplyDeleteDid you use any top coat? I need something with a little more durability. Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteYou're doing it again. I need a layla holo. I love them. Need.
ReplyDeleteI also tried this over butter London foundation base and it was awful, after trying to fix it with 4+ coats, I gave up and removed it. Yours looks much better!!
ReplyDeleteit looks like a rainbow when you move it, pretty =)
ReplyDeletethat's a bummer, but like you said...worth the fight!
ReplyDeletenope, no top coat. It tends to dull the holo effect with the Layla holos
ReplyDeleteThat video made me drool. Damn you and your gorgeous nails ♥!
ReplyDeleteI want so baaaaaaad!!! You already made me go out and get the Orly Neon's! ;p Well, you didn't "make me, but ya know!
ReplyDeleteI like!
ReplyDeleteXoXo
Ugh I used Butter London Nail Foundation too under this polish and I think I wasted half the bottle of Layla trying to get the holo to stick. Wish I had read this before trying :/ Still looks beautiful, though!
ReplyDeleteOhh lala that is too pretty!
ReplyDeleteWow there can never be to many holos.
ReplyDeleteOhhh I bought Flashback, can't wait to try! And what's with the birds on the video! So sweet!
ReplyDelete;-)
there are a ton of trees in my backyard, it's get noisy with all the birds. I was too lazy to mute the sound lol!
ReplyDeleteI saw this post earlier and was reminded that I had bought BL's Nail Foundation to try in place of aqua base after reading it on NB. That + Layla holos seems more like one of those YMMV things because I tried it under Ultra Violet today and it was definitely the easiest application I've ever had with my Laylas. I'm honestly still surprised at the lack of stupid bald patches after two coats, lol.
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful!! Too bad it' s so patchy!
ReplyDeleteFreakin gorgeous! I ADORE truly excellent holos and I must get this one.
ReplyDeleteOh god that's pretty!
ReplyDeleteAwesome holo!
ReplyDeleteSparkly! Rainbowy! Love!
ReplyDeletebased on this post, i bought this Layla. i'm having some issues with it -- inside or in the shade it just looks silver. like wearing foil. outside you can see the beauty but its not quite right. i did testing with top/bottom coats and found the bottom coat is useless and the top coat does not effect the shine, which became important to me because of chipping. the polish chipped after 12 hours. it took me 4 coats because of dragging to get it filled in. please tell me any ideas to get a better mani out of this, this color is too beautiful to let go
ReplyDeleteMost holo polishes look like that in the shade they are best in the sun or bright indoor lighting. You could try buffing your nails if you don't want to use a base coat, it helps the application. I would also recommend getting an Aqua Base, it makes applying holos like the ones from Layla much easier. Nfu Oh makes a great Aqua Base. Unfortunately these are SO holographic that they aren't super easy to apply no matter what but I think they are worth the trouble!
