Saturday Spam: Lynnderella

Hi guys, hope you're all having a good weekend so far...I sure as heck am, more on that tomorrow! Today I have a big helping of spam for you....this spam is all Lynnderella! I've been waffling on posting this because for the past few months Lynnderella=drama. The drama associated with it turns me off the brand so I had decided not to post pictures of what I have. Then I kind of tested the waters in my Indie spam post with 1 Lynn polish and everyone liked it, so I decided what the heck I'll just post everything I have that I haven't shown before in one post. Hope you guys enjoy!

If you want to buy Lynnderella polishes it's a bit of a process...you have to send in a wish list to Llarowe then wait for your last name to come up in her rotations. I think the 1st rotation of wish lists is still going on so depending on your last name you could be waiting for like 4-5 months, it wasn't too bad for me but I know some people are frustrated with the wait. I know the waiting sucks but I do like that at least you get everything you want eventually. It's worth it just to avoid the mad dash of trying to get things before they sell out in .5 seconds during re-stocks. Right now Llarowe is not accepting wish lists but last I heard she would be taking them again soon-ish. Make sure you sign up for her mailing list at shop.llarowe.com so that you know when she is taking them again. She also updates regularly on the status of the wish lists on her Facebook page located here.

Alright guys...I'm just going to tell you what I layered these over (for most of the polishes) instead of writing a little novel about each! Hope ya don't mind!

Boy Girl Party over Zoya Ginessa. FYI there is diamond shaped glitter in this...LOVE!

Shade

Bride of Franken over OPI Black Onyx. this is literally 10 bazillion times better in real life, pictures do it no justice.

Shade

Shade

Cauldron Drippings over OPI Black Onyx. I did have a problem with some of the bar glitter in this not wanting to lay flat.

Shade

Shade

Chocolotta Love over Zoya Cola

Shade

Shade

Forget You Not over Zoya Yasmeen

Shade

Lavendear over Jessica Barely Blueberry. The base of this had a bit of a blue tint to it and also an awesome blue shimmer!

Shade

Love, Lace and Lilacs over Jessica Lime Cooler.

Shade
Similar-ish to Snow Angel but not a dupe

Matter of the Heart, 2 coats over Zoya Gigi. There is heart glitter in this, I couldn't even get any out of the bottle though. :(

Mlle. Violet de Bleu over Zoya Elke. This one is almost identical to Bibbitty Boppity Boo Blue, I took a picture of the bottles side by side but by the time I edited my photos I forgot which was which so I didn't include it below LOL. I do think Bibbitty is denser but I believe Lynn will not be making it anymore so if you missed it and wanted it this will probably kill the lemming.

Shade

Shade

Nosegay over Zoya Melodie. I needed 2 coats to get a good amount of glitter on the nail

Ruby Red Ruby over OPI Black Onyx. This combo is very Deborah Lippman Ruby Red Slippers lol

Shade

Shade

She Lived In A Swamp over Zoya Veruschka

Shade

Shade

Sweets To The Sweet over Jessica Banana Peel. I needed 2 coats for good glitter coverage on this one...there is awesome sheer-ish white glitter in this that I love! Also, this combo makes me want some funfetti cake...nom!

Shade

Shade
The Glittering Crowd over Zoya "Juicy". I put Juicy in quotes because the color is not right...more on that when I post it in my next Zoya spam post though! Also, I believe Lynn also discontinued this one...what a bummer :(

Shade

Sun

Very Pretty Vampire over OPI Black Onyx. I actually really don't love this combo but I was losing daylight so I couldn't re-do it. My favorite way to wear VPV is over purple!

It's so hard to pick just one combo you did - I love them all!

  4. Boy Girl Party and The Glittering Crowd are probably my "absolutely I would punch someone in the face to won these" favorites. Even though the drama irritates me, the chick does make some gorgeous polishes!!

  5. Oh how I love your Saturday Spams!!  Gorgeous!! :)

  6. They look lovely on you! I wish I could bring myself to wear mine.  I think I have like 10 or so, but I jut have such a bad taste in my mouth now I can't even look at them anymore.

  7. I'm really glad Leah Ann decided to do the wishlist. It was frustrating having to stalk the website to find out you missed a restock before it sold out. I like the Lynnderella polishes, and I feel like there are a lot of great indie polishes out there to try while waiting for them to arrive.

  8. My bottle of Nosegay has wayyyy denser glitter in it. I wore two coats of it over Essie She's Picture Perfect and it ended up being one of my top 20 manis. And Mlle. Violette de Bleu and BBBB are actually different. I didn't notice it at first but then I tried layering both of them over a dark color (Essie No More Film, if I recall correctly). One of them (MVDB maybe?) has iridescent glitter in it like those sheerish glitters that turn blue when you layer BoF over black. That's pretty much the only difference, though. I think it adds a lot of dimension to the polish so I'd pick that one over the other one. I'm fairly certain it's MVDB now that I think about it. I remember being glad it was the one that wasn't being dc'd :).

Lovely combinations! I think the only one I don't like is Nosegay over Melodie. The rest are beautiful!

  9. You know, there's a few that I'll absolutely order when wish lists are available again... but now that the indie scene is really taking off, Lynn's aren't quite as 'special' as they used to be (outside of just being able to say you own a Lynn).  They're all pretty, but now that I have SO many options in terms of glitterbomb polishes, if those were posted *without* the bottle shot and I had no way of knowing who made it, I probably wouldn't give a lot of them a second look.

I will admit, the drama is a big part of what makes me not care anymore... combined with the prices.

Beautiful swatches though!  You always have some of the best swatches :)

  10. It's only drama if people keep talking about it. The creative process and the creative result is what we have to focus on. I used to feel the same as you; now, I just try to focus on the polish.

Like someone mentioned, there are a lot of other indie options out there, so the craze isn't as high. I do have to thank Lynn for pushing the "indie polish" craze further along than it was, so that we would get so many more awesome options. :)I really like your combinations. You match color really well, so it's always nice to see a LLL over something that isn't white :P

  11. You pick really good color combinations! Makes me want these even more!

  12. I'm with you, the drama really turned me off to Lynns :( With that said, I do have some, but will probably trade them away to people who still want them. I did get them through my wishlist and I think Leah Anne has done a GREAT job. TBH, I cannot believe the people who are getting impatient and rude and such. 1) It is just nail polish! 2) Isn't a wishlist better than not getting any? 3) just simply...what the heck? I just don't get how anyone can justify being anything but excited to get one if they really want it?!?! ANYWAY...I also agree with another poster (Diana I think?) that with the Indie scene getting so huge I am really getting into that. I have probably bought 30-40 indie polishes in the last couple weeks (lots of restocks all at once!) and they are 1/2-2/3 the price of Lynns. They also can take a while to get as many are mixed after ordered or they sell that one batch so fast it takes time to ship - oh AND can I add? Most of these indie polish makers have full time jobs to pay the bills and do this as something they love, so less time to do it all right this second - but still sooooo worth it when they arrive :) I have such a backlog of photos to go through myself on some great brands I have found!

Your photos are great as usual! Just had to vent on the drama :)

  15. I'm going to order a few more when Llarowe takes wishlists again since I do only have 3 Lynn's and there are several more I want. They're nice but it's not worth all the drama plus compared to so many other indie polishes out there Lynn's polishes are so much higher in price. I can't justify spending $30 on two polishes when I can get 3-4 for the same price. I don't get why people still get all angry / butthurt over the wishlist system because at least they're getting the polishes they want and should be happy to get any at all. At least imo.

    These are all gorgeous though.

  16. I did finally get a few Lynns. I was amazed at how fast I got them once my wish list turn came up. While I was waiting for those I got on etsy and have LOVED the polishes I have bought from there. If I had just been able to buy the Lynns I would never have seen all these other great polishes.

  17. I've seen a lot of bloggers say the same thing, and it sort of bums me out--none of the "drama" was Lynn's fault or Leah Anne's fault, it was just impatient, rude people. I still want to see her polishes, even if it's hard to get them. And with the wish list, it's working out so well, even if it takes a little longer. That's just my opinion, anyway. I feel like Lynn is being punished by bloggers for being super popular, hard to get, etc. That isn't her fault and she's tried to keep up stock. Oh well, not the end of the world, just my two cents. Beautiful swatches! Did you get Lovey Dovey? I love that one over CG Pelican Gray.

  18. They all look really great on you! The colour combinations you chose are really really nice! Especially sweets to the sweet over the banana yellow colour!!
Were the hearts really sparse in Matter of the Heart or just hard to get out because they were stuck to the sides etc? I agree - the drama has been insane over the Lynn's but I signed up for the wishlist anyway and just decided to wait for the few I really really thought were cool. It took a couple months but I got a couple, and the rest were backordered but are on they're way to me now. The system works if you're willing to wait I suppose!

  19. I am coveting SO much right now!

  20. Love the polishes, they look fab on you

  21. Love Lace and Lilacs is stunning over that base color. LOVE. Seriously, I think I gain like 5 lemmings every you have a Spam post..<3

    ReplyDelete
  22. Wow, some of these are really gorgeous
but I agree with some of the other commenters since the boom of the indie polishes there are a number of glitterbombs out there that are just as pretty imo

    ReplyDelete
  23. Ooh, I love all of the cool-colored glitters... I think Lavendear or Boy Girl Party might be my favorite. Thankfully I haven't been into polish long enough to know too much about the drama, but in general I'm not too crazy about glitterbombs anyway, so I guess I get to avoid it :p

    ReplyDelete
  24. I could see quite a few in the bottle I think they were just all stuck to the sides of the bottle in mine :(

    ReplyDelete
  25. I agree about the wish lists, I really don't mind waiting and it seems to be working out really well!

I did get Lovey Dovey, I just forgot to swatch it for this post by accident. Next time I do an Indie Spam post I'll include it!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Haven't bought any since the drama REALLY got out of control right before the wish list system began. I love the ones that I have though, but I'm still not convinced on spending the money on any more Lynns and supporting her business after all of those unprofessional outbursts. Still think Lynnderella's are gorgeous though...just been happier staying away from it :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. I love what you did with Bride of Franken! Matter of the Heart looks awesome too! I've always wanted a Lynnderella!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Those are awesome! I really like Cauldron Drippings and Very Pretty Vampire! Defintely going on my wish list!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Your swatches are gorgeous as always but now when I look at these polishes online I'm just not as impressed as I once was. Pretty much all of those could be duplicated with supplies you can get at Micheals or another craft store. The prices are too high as well considering I just ordered a bottle of Sticks and Stones for considerably less...plus those polishes have much better labeling in my opinion. If I'm going to pay that much I want the bottles to look it.

    ReplyDelete
  30. For what it's worth, the drama that turns me off isn't the people complaining about the wait/auctions/etc... it was the ridiculous outburst from Lynn herself about Sticks N Stones, among other things.  People completely have their own opinion on which side with that one, but it really just put a bad taste in my mouth.  I'll still sign up for a wish list when they're available again, but I just can't feel the same way after witnessing the complete hissy-fit and lawyer-threatening that ensued over a dupe.

"for the past few months Lynnderella=drama." TRUE.
That's why I haven't even bothered to try to get my hands on one...

  32. Great swatches!

I haven't gotten any Lynderellas because it just seems like too big of a hassle, but these are really nice.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I want to like these. I really do. I own a few myself (She lived in a swamp, boy girl party, sweets to the sweet). But I think they're so overrated. I like Lacquistry's formula much better, and her customer service is a million times more professional.

    ReplyDelete
  34. They are very pretty :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. Agree!  I get that buyers being rude is awful, but the situation could have been handled a little more professionally.  While my sister and I love our Lynns and give her some great applause on making them, they are our last ones!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I wasnt really into Lynn polishes cause I knew of the high demand of them plus I didnt want to deal with going through that wishlist. Well after the last wishlist went out I decided to give it a shot and just try out one of her polishes..well..thats not going to happen cause her line is no longer be sold cause of the drama. If I could I would still like to try out some of her polishes:  I really like nosegay, connect the dots, matters of the heart, and boygirl party. But there now on ebay and I just wish people werent so greedy with the bidding..sigh i might just have to take it and bid. Anyways lovely swatches..thank you!
