Dermelect ME Collection Swatches

Hi guys! Today I have 3 polishes from Dermelect's ME Collection to show you guys. You may be familiar with Dermelect because of different nail treatments they make but now they are introducing Peptide-infused colored nail lacquers also. These polishes are infused with ProSina which is a pure protein peptide extracted from New Zealand’s sheep’s wool. I think that's pretty neat, can't say I own any other polishes like that! Some of the benefits of these peptide infused lacquers that Dermelect lists are that it strengthens weak brittle nails, helps nails resist chipping and splitting and it's water and detergent resistant. I especially like that last benefit, I know a lot of people have problems with polish lasting because of jobs that require them to wash their hands often. I'd be interested to know if that claim is true!

To see swatches and reviews of each shade click the read more button below!

Above It is a bright light sky blue creme. The formula was very nice, a bit on the thick side which made it nice and opaque while being easy to apply. I didn't have any issues with streaking either which is always nice with shades like this! I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Shade

Head Turner is a bright red toned orange creme. In real life this is not quite as red toned...my camera has issues with red toned orange shades :( It's not as bright as something like OPI A Roll In The Hague but it reminds me a lot of that polish, it's like a slightly toned down version. The formula was again, on the thick side but very nice to apply. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Shade

Luxurious is a gorgeous lilac creme. Of these three this is my personal favorite, it's the kind of purple I always reach for since it tends to make me look tan! The formula was pretty much exactly like the other 2 polishes...thick but easy to apply. I had no streaking with this one either. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Dermelect polishes are available for $14 each on Dermelect.com and also in store at the C.O. Bigelow store in New York City!

  2. Hi. I love your blog.  I'm always surprised how often you have  posts.

Question:  do you think you will swatch the Maybelline Color Show collection. I've been seeing/hearing great things about it.  I just bought Bold Gold but I haven't had time to use it.

  3. Water AND detergent resistant? Finally, a way to wash dishes without wrecking your mani! It's a shame they're so expensive, though.

  4. Thanks :) I probably won't be swatching any of the Maybelline polishes. When I saw them in person none of them grabbed me so I didn't buy any :/

  5. I've never heard of anything like this, but I like it!  My nails split so badly, so I might have to try this out!

  6. Some nice basic shades to begin a standard collection from. I am curious how applying peptides to dead tissue as nails are - what in the world that could possibly do that is beneficial. I guess maybe there this product touches the live part of the nail (beds) is what the aim is here maybe? I don't see this brand anywhere even close to where I live being sold (yet). I also am not typically a fan of 'keeping up' with lines that are more than $8/bottle. I do have my few Chanels, Diors and a lot of Deb. Lippmann's. But I really try hard not to fall for too many polishes that are going to have me wanting to come back time and again when their price points are so high...however, that said, I am also not a fan typically of the $1-$3 range of polishes unless I KNOW they are really going to last - most don't on me. I am not one who will put up with the need to change my mani every day.

  7.  I always wear gloves to wash dishes and have for ages so that I can use super hot water - ditto for cleaning with most cleaning products...it helps a ton with keeping my mani on as well as not drying out my nails. I work sooo hard to keep my nails hydrated - why let that go to total loss with cleaning products. I have only had a dishwasher maybe 5 years out of my lifetime - so I have done a whole lot of dishes by hand.

  8. These are all pretty! I think I have ones like all of them but I 'd really love to try the formula! Also be sure to report back if you can stand to leave it on your nails long enough ;-) I make my bestie test things like that for me because she really only changes her polish when I do her nails for her, haha.

  9. Water resistant?!?!? Do they have any base coats with the same benefits? Because that would be glorious. I'd never have to worry about work killing my mani again! lol

  11. my biggest issue is after a shower my nails always get soft, hence the colour starts to peel off! Water resistant is a HUGE benefit that all nail polish brands should be looking into! Gorgeous colours!
