Icing Shredded

Hi guys, hope you all had a good weekend! Today I have a goodie from Icing to show you called Shredded. It's black shredded glitter in a clear base! There was a polish very similar this I tried to get from an indie brand for ages and never managed to snag so I was jumping for joy when I found out Icing had a dupe. Not only is it cheaper but I don't have to stalk an etsy shop while F5-ing like a polish crazed lunatic to get it haha!

I used a coat of Shredded over Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Parrot for the photos below. You do want to put a couple coats of top coat over this. Usually texture doesn't bug me but it did with this, I kept wanting to peel the glitter off every time I would notice the texture pre top coat.

Icing polishes are only available in Icing stores as far as I know. I believe this was $4.50 but as always Icing polishes are Buy 1 Get 1 Half off so it's a pretty sweet deal!

I'm still warming up to these shredded polishes... but this one is pretty edgy!

  7. Oh awesome! I was going to get the Candy Lacquer version of this but I may just go to my local Icing and see if they have it there instead.

  8. Iiiiinteresting.  I'm not sure if it's a type of glitter I'd like, but it's amazing that Icing has something so non-standard.  Progress! :)

I just bought this one, myself, and I really like it - except for the horribly strong smell!  It smells like hobby shop modeling glue!  I think I got high putting it on.

  15. Thanks so much for posting this!  I had also wanted to get the indie version, but the Icing polish seems much more attainable. ♥  Thanks for making me aware, haha!  Beautiful swatches, btw.

  16. I really like how some brands are becoming aware of indie polish trends. Love supporting these indie lacquers but often I can't get to their etsy shop in time.

  17. Just a side note: Why did you get rid of all the links to other blogs along the side of your blog? Did you make that change, or is it just something wrong with my computer?

  18. there is a virus or something going around right now that is tied to it so I had to remove my blog roll as a precaution. It'll be back whenever the mess is cleaned up. :(

  20. Man! I missed out on the indie polish my self, but got a tip on another indie polish called Black Ice by Candy Lacquer that looks like a dupe and bought that one. Never knew Icing had a dupe until now! Madness :D

  21. I bought this -- used a basecoat of OPI Dulce de Leche and then alternating coats of Shredded and Kimpletely in Love by Nicole / OPI. The depth makes it look like a strawberry / oreo blizzard!
