Hi guys! Today I have an awesome new collection from Dollish Polish to share with you guys! I've been eagerly awaiting these since Dolly put out It's A Me, Mario! It's the Super Mario Bros Collection woohoo!! As a child of the late 80's & 90's I pretty much grew up on Mario....I still have my old Nintendo where you have to blow on the games to make them work that I play Mario on when the mood strikes me haha!
When Dolly unveiled the macro shots of these a while back I seriously about died. She pretty much nailed them, the colors and mixes of each glitter are seriously perfection. As much as I loved her macros these are so much better in real life than I thought they would be (and I thought they would be amazing already!).
To see swatches of each polish click the read more button below!
1-UP is bright kelly green glitter mixed with white bar, hex and square glitter. I'm loving all the tiny green micro glitter in this polish...I didn't notice it until I put it over black and WOW! The formula was great for a chunky glitter like this, I didn't have to resort to dabbing it on or fishing for glitter! I used 1 coat of 1-UP over OPI Morning Glory for the photos below.

A Peachy Princess is described by Dolly as chunk-full of varying shades & shapes of Pink glitter, some matte, some metallic, some holographic, all in a pink tinted base, to make one Peach of a polish! Again the formula was really nice, no difficult glitter issues! I used 1 coat of A Peachy Princess over Essence Ultimate Pink. I was loving this over white also!

Dino-mite Yoshi is varying sizes of bright green, pastel green, red, orange and white glitter in a clear base. OMG, I die....seriously. This is my favorite of the collection...if I could only have 1 I'd pick this. The mix of glitter is so interesting! I used 1 coat over Nails Inc Black Taxi for the photos below. I'm currently wearing this over OPI Mermaid Tears and I think I like that combo even more!

Can we also talk about how awesome this looks matte? I didn't think it was possible for me to love it more, then I put on a coat of Essie Matte About You and fell in love all over again haha

Go Luigi! is bright blue and green glitter along with holographic star glitter in a clear base. This glitter looks like it's absolutely glowing in low light and in the shade! I did find that the stars were a little hard to get. I didn't have to fish them out but if you want more than 1 on every couple of nails you might need to go fishing for them. I used 1 coat of Go Luigi! over Nails Inc Black Taxi for the photos below, all the photos are in the shade.
It's A Me, Mario! is red and blue glitter along with holographic star glitter in a clear base. I'm still loving this one, the name makes me smile and the glitter is gorgeous! The stars in this one are much easier to get, I'm not sure if I just lucked out with getting more stars in this bottle or if it's something about the mix of glitter that makes them easier to grab. I used 1 coat of It's A Me, Mario! over Essence Stuck On You for the photos below.

The Koopa King is yellow, red and green glitter in varying sizes, black bar glitter and holographic diamond shaped glitter in a clear base. You can't see the black bar glitter in my photos but I promise it's there when you don't put this over black. I really love this one also, the mix of glitter is unusual and interesting to look at. I wore this out on Saturday night and everyone was going gaga over the glitter. I think regular folks don't realize that glittery nail polish like this exists haha! The formula was on the thick side with this but it is absolutely packed with glitter! I used 1 coat of The Koopa King over Nails Inc Black Taxi for the photos below. I was loving this over orange also, kind of a weird combo but it worked (it didn't photograph well which is why I'm not showing it though)

You know I had to mattify this also, it was practically asking for it!

Toad-ally Awesome is white, red, blue and yellow glitter in a clear base. I somehow seem to own a lot of red, white and blue glitter and even though this is primarily those 3 colors it feels much different than everything else I have. The little sprinkle of yellow glitter is pretty great and I'm also loving the tiny blue micro glitter! I used 1 coat of Toad-ally Awesome over Butter London Blagger for the photos below!

Wicked Wario is very fine purple glitter mixed with yellow, green and white glitter all in a clear base. I have to pat myself on the back for this swatch, I managed to find probably the only 2 pieces of blue glitter in the bottle and I got them both on my middle nail. Leave it to me to find the rogue glitter! My only tiny complaint about this polish is that I wish there was more of the glitter other than the fine purple glitter.
I used Wicked Wario over Nails Inc Black Taxi for the photos below. I actually prefer this over white since it makes the purple glitter pop but my camera couldn't handle that much awesomeness!

Overall I think this collection is a total win. The glitter combos are so perfect for what they are meant to represent in the world of Mario. It was really easy to apply all of the glitter. I love indies but sometimes they can be a pain with having to dab glitter on or fish it out of the bottle and I didn't have that problem with any of these!
Dollish Polish is available a few places including DollishPolish.com for $8.75 a bottle, Shop.Llarowe.com for $11 a bottle and OverallBeauty.com (though Kim doesn't have any polishes listed right now). I believe this collection is sold out at the moment, make sure you keep an eye on
Dolly's Facebook page and
Llarowe's Facebook page for updates about restocking!
Nice! XoXo

ReplyDeleteThese are so prettyyyyy. I was wondering though, I've never seen OPI Morning Glory before. Is it a black creme?
ReplyDeleteI love this collection! I just can't seem to get my hands on it. Lol.
ReplyDeleteIt's from their Halloween collection for 2012 (I'll have swatches up soon) It's just a black creme!
ReplyDeleteI am in love with It's A Me., Mario!
ReplyDeleteGah! I think I'm in Heaven! I want them all so badly!
ReplyDeleteIf my sons saw these, I would be in a heap of trouble haha He would force me to buy them :)
ReplyDeleteI... I can't even... I want.. nope, I NEED THESE!! YOSHI FTW!
ReplyDeleteThese are AMAZING! They are so bang on with colours of the characters. I love them all! I wish she did one for Bowser, I love him!! :D
ReplyDeleteAhh I've had a few of these on my wishlist because they are AMAZING! I wish they weren't so hard to get a hold of :/
ReplyDeleteoh man, I would have loved a Bowser polish too lol!
ReplyDeleteThe Koopa king is bowser!! :)
DeleteBowser is referred to as the Koopa King I believe! :)
ReplyDeleteOMG Are you kidding me?! My eyes about popped out of my head when I saw these! NEED them ALL!
ReplyDeleteI want to have "It's a me, Mario". I play once a week Super Mario Bros. on Nintendo WII with my best friend (and we are 31 years old) :)
ReplyDeleteBut again we don't have this cute brand in Germany... ):
Her stuff is always sold out. I'll say it again: she sends you so many free samples to promote herself, and you feature her so frequently, that she should give your readers access to her products. Do some sort of private sale for your readers who have helped her become so popular. There are so many indie brands now, I don't even bother trying to get Dollish Pollish. It isn't worth the aggravation.
ReplyDeleteI don't have that kind of pull, sorry! I do know that they will be restocked tomorrow on Llarowe. Hope you can get some!
ReplyDeleteLlarowe ships to you!
ReplyDeleteI want all of these! But she was out of stock so I am crying... They really do look awsome.

ReplyDeleteThis makes me wish I still had my old Nintendo, I remember having to blow on the games to play too! Love your swatches, Dino-mite Yoshi looks amazing! I only got Wicked Wario, and I had to shake it a lot, it was very sinky, I wish there was more of the white and yellow but it still looks pretty! :)
ReplyDeleteOmg... always love your swatches!! How do you pick what colour to layer glitter over? Just asking cause you always select amazing colour combos that I never would have thought of!
ReplyDeleteContrary to popular belief, Jen waits for the restock openings and purchases 95% of her Dollish Polishes just like everyone else. I'm sorry to hear that you've had trouble purchasing polish, but the truth is I work around the clock, 7 days a week filling thousands of bottles and it's still not enough to keep up with the demands. I would absolutely LOVE to offer you a private sale of some sort, but at this time it's just not possible. I'm working very hard expand & hire more help, but till then please keep in mind that most Indie brands have just 1 person running the show and we do the best we can
ReplyDeleteomg what a fun collection! love the polishes!!
ReplyDeleteIn Japan he is called King Koopa. In US he is referred to as Bowser.
ReplyDeleteI love this collection so much! I saw it for the first time late last night... I grew up playing Mario and each glitter polish represents the characters perfectly. I just ordered the whole collection from Dollish Polish, I'm so excited! I CAN'T WAIT!
