Hi guys! Today I have swatches of the OPI Outrageous Neons Mini Set to show you! The mini set comes with 4 mini sized polishes, a mini white base polish and a mini top coat. I'm usually not a fan of the OPI mini's, I find that they are very hard to use because the brush is so tiny...but I couldn't resist this set!
Click the read more button below to see swatches & reviews of each shade.
For all swatches below I used 2 coats of the white base (which is literally called, White Base), followed by 2 coats of the polish and a coat of top coat. It's what the box said to do so that's what I did :)
Formidably Orange is a very red toned orange. I don't think I would call it coral but I wouldn't call it a straight up orange either...it's a strange color. This one was a bit streaky on the 1st coat over white but it evened itself out nicely on the 2nd coat.
Ridiculously Yellow is a bright neon yellow. Of the whole collection this is the only one (in my opinion) that is bright enough to be a neon. It's not as eye searing as something like Orly Glowstick but it's a nice one nonetheless. The formula was nice, a little streaky on the first coat but nice on the 2nd!
This one is much brighter in person than in photos!
Riotously Pink is a bright hot pink. I do like this one but it reminds me up a less opaque version of Essie Lights. The formula was really nice, not streaky at all. This one is also brighter in real life but not so bright that you have to squint to look at your nails out in the sun haha.
Seriously Purple is seriously purple ha! I love the color of this one but there were serious formula issues, it was super streaky which you can see in the photos. Beautiful color but it's disappointing that the formula would require several coats to even out and all you have is the tiny mini bottle :(
This limited edition mini pack promotion will be available beginning July 2012 at professional salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for $19.95 ($24.95 CAN) suggested retail for each mini pack (includes all six products).

ReplyDeleteI love the colour of the purple one, it's such a shame the formula's so bad :(
ReplyDeleteThese are awesome, I've never seen swatches of them before!
ReplyDeleteI love neons especially the pink one but I think I'm on neon overload. I have the china glaze and orly neons so I'm still not sure if I'm going to pick these up. I wish they were sold these separately. Great swatches as always.
ReplyDeletelove these! excited to finally see swatches
ReplyDeleteNot really excited about this, I think after China Glaze's amazing neon collection I'm all neoned out. I always like to get mini bottles when I can, but I agree that OPI mini bottles are super hard to work with, plus they seem to be extra mini compared to other mini's such as Orly.

ReplyDeleteThey're pretty colors, but not as neon as I was hoping.
ReplyDeleteLove the purple! I have the same issues with the minis.
ReplyDeletei love mini polishes..
ReplyDeleteand applying a white coat before using neon colors seems a good Idea, will try tomorrow!!!
these colors looks cool only under the light, in the shade looks like any other polish, you know, nothing special about it..
These colors are soo fun!!!
ReplyDeleteOoh your polishes look so much better. My purple and yellow were really thick :-( My swatches are horrible

ReplyDeletehow strange! Mine was all on the thin side!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like the exact same set as the OPI for Sephora Neon Lights set.

most likely it is, but at least the OPI one is a few dollars cheaper!
ReplyDeleteOh my the colors look great!!
ReplyDeleteSaw these in the OPI for Sephora Neon collection - Agree with AS - they really look the same. They were not at all worth the price for my taking. I have a whole bag full of neons now and am saturated.
ReplyDeleteIt requires five coats...wow!!! I don't really like that part.....but love the colors. :-)
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful swatches :)
ReplyDeleteI want that yellow so badly! I've started my own Nail blog and you are my inspiration. I love all of your posts! Keep them coming please! (I was wondering if you could do a Fingerpaint swatch party) ~Thats my favorite brand and I'd love to see your opinions.

ReplyDeleteThey are removed because people like to spam my comments with links to their blog even though I clearly ask them not to :/
ReplyDeleteI am not a fan of the OPI mini bottles either, mainly because you don't really get any polish out of the bottles. These colors are really pretty though.
