Hi guys! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend, I did! Has everyone been watching the Olympics? I'm more of a winter olympics fan myself but I really enjoy watching gymnastics, diving and swimming! Today I'm very excited to be taking part in piCture pOlish's Blog Fest for 2012. I remember seeing this on quite a few blogs last year and am so happy to be able to participate in it this year!
The 2 shades I have to show you are part of the Collaboration Collection which is being introduced today with the Blog Fest! If you haven't seen the rest of the Collaboration Collection shades you should have a looksie around the blogosphere today, all of the shades are gorgeous!
Before I show you swatches of each polish on it's own I wanted to show you how I wore them! I used both of my piCture pOlish shades (Demeter & Attitude) over white. I saw a great gradient dot manicure over on Make Up Alley and had been wanting to give it a go myself. As far as nail art goes I'm good with things like dots, they are hard to mess up! I really love how this turned out, the little dots were so sparkly and the colors were beautiful together! I wore this manicure for nearly a week straight and it didn't chip at all, gotta love that! I got a lot of compliments on this manicure so it's probably something I will be doing again in the future!
I get a lot of questions about where to buy dotting tools when I post a manicure like this. You can use pretty much anything with a round end to get a look like this, like bobby pins or toothpicks! I use a set of 5 dotting tools, I got mine from a local beauty supply but you can find them for a couple bucks on ebay also!
To see swatches of piCture pOlish Attitude and piCture pOlish Demeter on their own click the Read More button below!
Attitude is a rich dark purple with a gorgeous scattered holo effect. This shade was created by the wonderful Kim from Overall Beauty. I've bought from Kim several times over the last couple years and she is such a joy to buy from, I'm happy to be able to share her beautiful polish with you guys! What I really love about this polish is that the holo glitter is of varying sizes, there are very small bits but there are also good size chunks of it. It makes this polish beautiful both in the sun and in the shade! The formula on Attitude was wonderful, it was nice and opaque and went on smoothly in 2 coats. As is the case with most holographic polishes the holo effect is much stronger in real life, it is absolutely gorgeous!
Attitude will be available exclusively at http://www.overallbeauty.com and http://picturepolish.com.au
Demeter is a chocolate brown with a gorgeous scattered holo. This was made by Katie from Harlow & Co. This is another polish that I am so happy to be able to share, Katie is not only someone I like to buy from but someone that I consider a friend. Like Attitude, Demeter is full of all kinds of shapes and sizes of holographic particles. This polish is insane in the sun, I wish it translated into photos! The formula was perfection, 2 easy coats for full opacity!
Demeter will be available exclusively from http://www.harlowandco.org and http://picturepolish.com.au
Both Attitude & Demeter are available now! If you haven't seen the rest of the new Collaboration Collection polishes or the other beautiful shades piCture pOlish is launching today make sure you visit the piCture pOlish Facebook page, they are linking all of the Blog Fest posts!

ReplyDeleteHi! Love the dotted manicure - I'm a huge fan of polka dot nails! I love white polish looks but I can never get mine to work without streaks - I have China Glaze White on White and it streaks like mad. Do you have any recommendations on a good white or how I can better apply my white?
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love your blog - I discovered it when I was looking for polish comparisons and you do those really really well.
Love,
Kas
Thanks Kas <3 Lately I've been loving Nails Inc Floral Street for my white polish, it applies really nicely! I also really like Sally Hansen Insta Dri in Whirlwind White! For difficult polishes I usually try to do my coats on the thick side, it usually helps out!
ReplyDeleteI really like the mani with the dots, so easy to do and soooo pretty :D
