Zoya Fall 2012 Designer Collection Swatches!

Morning! Today I have the second of three Zoya collections for Fall 2012 to show you! This is the Designer Collection which consist of 6 creme finish polishes. The theme of all 3 of Zoya's Fall offerings are New York Fashion Week, the colors are inspired by backstage beauties, talented designers, runways and VIP fashion events. For Fashion Week earlier this year Zoya put out a few limited edition custom color sets which I unfortunately missed out on at the time. I was over the moon when I saw that Zoya was bringing some of the shades from the sets into this collection!

To see swatches & reviews of each shade click the read more button below!

Evvie is a smoky grayed out green creme. This was originally one of the LE colors from the Peter Som trio that I missed out on and was so sad about. I was most excited about this because of the swatches I had seen back when it first came out. On me, I'm a little disappointed...I guess I expected it to be more green. This seemed to pull very very grey on me, I actually thought it was just a grey until I went outside to take photos and could see the green come out. It's a beautiful polish I think I just hyped myself up for it to look different and was like meh when that's not how it looked on me! The formula was great, I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Shade

Monica is a dark purple creme. I'm not sure that this is the most unique shade in the bunch but I do love it. It feels very fall! In person this was a little bit more vibrant than it's appearing in photos! The formula was again, great! I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Shade

Natty is a smoky steel blue. This is my favorite of the Designer Collection! I looked through my stash thinking I'd find a dupe but I didn't come across anything that was exactly like it! The formula was great! I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Shade

Noot is a very dark green toned grey. It's like a darker less green toned version of Evvie! The formula was again, great haha! I used 2 coats for the photos below!

Shade

Rekha is a red creme. Zoya describes this as blood red but I feel like it's a little too bright to be a blood red, at least on me. I'm not a red kinda gal but I like this one, it's a perfect match to one of my favorite pair of shoes, next time I wear them this will have to be my pedicure color! The formula was good on this one, I did find it to be a little bit more sheer than the rest of polishes in the collection though. I used 3 coats for the photos below.

Shade

Toni is described as a  dark raisin-wine creme by Zoya. Eh, it's okay...I felt like this was very flattering on but it seems like we get this shade every Fall. The formula was great! I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Shade

Overall, I'm not that excited about this collection. If you have a large collection you will probably already have things close to these shades. If you are starting out and still looking for great basic cremes for Fall I think these are wonderful for you! My personal favorite is Natty, it feels like the most unique of the bunch for me!

The Designer Collection is available now on Zoya.com, each polish retails for $8!

  1. Ok, so usually Scrangie's swatches are be-all-end-all for me. I only wanted a few after her post. Your swatches are making me want the ENTIRE collection!

  2. Is it weird that I like the red one the best? Might end up picking up a couple of these especially Monica :) I agree Natty seems to be the most orginal.

  3. Do you think Natty is close match to Essie's School of Hard Rocks or OPI's Teal Til We Drop? And as for Toni - is it close enough to be Anja's sister?

  4. I only have two Zoya polishes- both shimmers. I haven't gotten more, even though Whole Foods of all places has a ton, because the two I have end up with terrible tip wear after just one day. I've tried layering them, extra top coat, no dice :( Anyone have advice? I do love their colors on the bottle.

  5. Both of the blues you mentioned are much darker. I haven't had time to look for similar polishes to any of the other polishes yet, sorry

  6. Great photos as usual. I also am not excited for this collection to come. I don't think they are unique at all for me to buy. Like you, I think Natty is pretty - but I sure think I could put it up against some of my China Glaze cream blues and find a close match. It might also be close to a Sally Hanson Complete Manicure blue cream I have as well. All in all, I won't be buying one even from this collection. I bet we see Zoya offering a ton of special deals like buy 2 from this get 1 from either fall collection free because I don't think this collection is going to sell that well.

  7. I initially thought of the blue in China Glaze Anchor's Away - First Mate, but pulled it out and it's a brighter blue. But I am sure when I look, I can find some dusty med blue creams that are really close to Natty. Will be interested to see what you find that are comps/close ones.

  8. When I saw other swatches, the greens looked close to Cult Nails Awakening. Now that I see yours, they don't even look similar. I initially was going to pass on the greens, but now I have a good reason to get them!

  10. Hi, I was wondering what base and topcoat you use with Zoya nail polish. I have found that my favorite TC Seche Vite does not mix well with Zoya. Thank you for the fantastic swatches! :D

  11. I usually use Sally Hansen Insta Dri!

  12. I especially love Natty and Monica. These swatches are so pretty!

  13. I think Natty is close enough to Sinful Colors Rainstorm to get the cheaper (SC) version.

  14. How do you keep your nails and cuticles in great shape?!

  15. I don't do much really, I moisturize my hands & cuticles a lot but other than that nothing special!

  16. This is a nice collection and all but...I'm feeling kinda meh about it (especially after seeing the mind blowing Diva Collection). I am lemming Rekha though! How weird! Normally I am all about the purples/blues/greens but...there is something about Rekha I am loving. Maybe it's because I'm re-obsessed with red lipsticks these days, lol! :) Natty looks good too - colors like that do wonders for my skin tone for some reason and I find them so pretty! If I get anything from this collection it will be Rekha and Natty. Awesome swatches and reviews as always! :D Many thanks! :D

  17. Does Natty stain your fingernails?

  18. I love your blogs. They give me so many ideas and actually gives me another adiction other than my purses! But I was wondering if you could do a blog with all of this seasons greys and blues together? I've seen so many of them and seeing them together would help me narrow down which ones I need next! Thx
