OPI Pink of Hearts 2012 Swatches & Review

HI guys! Hope you all had a good weekend! Today I have OPI's 2012 Pink of Hearts duo to share with you! I went to my local beauty supply on Friday to pick up a couple of the Halloween mini sets for another blogger and got to chatting with the owner of the shop. I always love stopping in there, the man who owns it is incredibly nice, we always talk nail polish. He makes me feel normal because he fangirls over new collections almost as much as I do haha! I ended up picking up what I went for along with some more of the Orly Flash Glam FX Collection polishes which you'll see soon woohoo!

When I was getting ready to pay the owner came out of the back with this duo in his hands asking if I wanted it also. Of course I was like heck yeah I want it! I always love what OPI does for Breast Cancer Awareness every year. I'm not a huge fan of pink nail polish but I am a fan of supporting good causes so I always go out and buy all the pink polishes that come out for BCA! This year the Pink of Hearts duo brings us a pretty pink creme and an awesome pink glitter bomb! To see swatches of both polishes click the read more button below!

I Think In Pink is a light bubblegum pink creme. The formula on this was really nice for this light of a shade. It started out very sheer on the first coat but built up beautifully. On the back of the box for this duo there are little blurbs about each color and the one for this polish calls it a sheer pink so I guess OPI intends for us to wear it that way. I'm not a sheer kind of girl so I was happy that it built up to full opacity so easily. I used 3 coats of I Think In Pink for the photos below. I have to also mention that this dries to a beautiful finish, it was incredibly shiny without top coat!

Shade

You Glitter Be Good To Me is a mix of small salmon pink glitter and larger bright magenta hex glitter. The formula was really great. It was easy to get a ton of glitter on the brush and it was easy to apply, no dabbing to get glitter where you want it or anything like that. My only complaint is that the hex glitter is a little sparse. I feel like there is too much of the small glitter and not enough of the bigger hex glitter. For the photos below I layered 1 coat of You Glitter Be Good To Me over I Think In Pink. I also have a coat of it over black if you want to see that also, it looks great that way!

For some reason in the first photo below the bigger hex glitter is looking like some of the hex's are very purple. They all lean to the pinker side of magenta in real life...I think it's just the way the sun was hitting the nail making them appear more purple!

I believe the official release for this duo is mid September but I do not have an exact date. Considering I found mine in an actual store already you maybe be able to find it near you sooner than then!

  19. Thanks for sharing these! I am not 100% convinced I need them--well, I definitely do not need another pink creme--the peachy pink glitter with the fuchsia pink isn't striking me quite right. But I will likely grab it anyway so I can make an informed decision whether to keep it or not. :)

  22. Not anything original. Glitter is pretty but I am done with glitter but on a super rare occasion. However I am always thrilled to see OPI continue on with their Breast Cancer Awareness polish release each yr. I am now a 2X BC survivor.

  27. What Nail Supply did you pick this up at? I am totally a follower of your blog and a fellow Orange County girl myself with an obsession for nail polish and am always looking for a new supply to shop at, especially if they offer cosmetologist discounts! haha
