Orly Holiday 2012 Naughty Or Nice Collection: My Picks!

Hi guys! Today I have my very first Holiday 2012 polishes to share with you, it's Orly's Naughty or Nice Collection. I thought it was crazy to find a Halloween Collection in July...well I think finding a Holiday display in August takes the cake for early releases now haha! When I walked into my favorite store last week the guy looked at me and laughed, then pointed to this display and said Holiday 2012 already...I think he was also amused that they had gotten it so early.

I ended up buying half of the Naughty or Nice Collection, the other 3 just didn't do anything for me so they stayed at the store. The other 3 polishes are a red creme (Unlawful), a red shimmer (Torrid) and a silvery gold glitter (Halo), you can see a better look at those 3 in promo shots on this blog if you're interested in them! The three polishes I did up bringing home are pretty awesome, I was on the fence about one of them the whole time I was in the store because it didn't look special in the store's lighting but oh my gosh, I am so glad I got it! I'll tell you which one it is later in the post!

Angel Eyes is a mix small blue glitter and holographic hex glitter. This was so much better than I thought it was going to be, I mean I was sold the second I saw it but I wasn't expecting the great glitter coverage I got with it. The formula was a little thick but easy to apply...if you wear this on it's own I would however suggest waiting a few minutes between coats. I layered 1 coat of Angel Eyes over Pixi Evening Emerald for the photos below. This was a very opaque glitter you could easily wear by itself!

Devil May Care is small red glitter and gold hex glitter in a clear base. This reminds me of OPI's Getting Miss Piggy With It from last year...except better. I really love  this combo, the ratio of gold to red glitter is great...this was so pretty in person! The glitter coverage again was great...you could most likely wear this by itself also. Formula wise it was great, not thick at all and very easy to apply. I used 1 coat of Devil May Care over Color Club Look Book for the photos below.

Miss Conduct is a magenta base with a gorgeous scattered holo effect! This is the one I couldn't decide on it the store. In their lighting it looked like a plain magenta glitter, imagine my surprise when I looked at it once I got home and realized it was a scattered holo!  The formula was flippin awesome, nearly a 1 coater! I ended up doing 2 coats for photos but in person 1 coat was enough for me, it's actually how I'm wearing it right now!

As soon as I put on Miss Conduct it reminded me of something, OPI DS Extravagance! I had to put them side by side, I figured you guys would like to see it too! They aren't dupes, Extravagance is a bit darker...but they are the same kind of idea. I wish I had more polishes like this, what a pretty ombre manicure that would make!I used 2 coats of each polish for the photos below.

The Naughty or Nice Collection is available now if you want to buy online. I've seen it for sale on Transdesign and Amazon. Everything I've found online about this collection says it will be in stores in November 2012, not sure if that is correct or not!

  6. Gorgeous! Orly is my fav brand now, then OPI. Their formula is perfect for me and all the colors I have look gorgeous on me, prettier than in their bottles. Thanks for your swatches, now I need these polishes :D

Hmmm, if you want another one like Miss Conduct for a gradient, there's an Ulta salon formula polish called Material Girl that is similar, maybe a tad darker than the OPI DS Extravagance. I don't see it on Ulta's website, but it probably would be in the store (that's where I found it).

  10. I think I might actually own that one, I need to find it!

  11. i wonder if you layer miss conduct over a darker base color similar to the color of extravagance, maybe it would make for a closer "dupe"?? extravagance is my fave of the DS line, so this orly is gorgeous in my book! thanks for the comparison :)

  12. I definitely think you could, I may need to do some experimenting with that when I have some time!

  13. LOLOLOL. Yeah, I too have been stunned by the Halloween displays of mid-August, but THIS takes the holiday cake! So pleased to see that Orly is pumping out these very competitive collections. For a long time, I'd found the line kinda meh. Now, they're on my Nail Radar 24/7. These are beauties. I'm tickled with all three colors. Beautiful manis and pix, as usual! :)

  15. Love devil may care but the holidays are way off. I'd love to see Miss Conduct next to Nova from the new Zoya Halloween collection.

  16. Soooo not ready to see holiday polishes in retail! Gads I flipped when the local drug store started to put out the Halloween stuff...but then they are done with summer and guess with all the sales high for Halloween might as well get it out when they put out all the fall deco stuff (fake leaves etc). Curious if these Orly's are rough finish??? Or maybe should say how rough, since most gliters are gritty. I like the magenta one - only because I would wear it more than @ holiday.

  17. I only needed 1 coat of top coat for all of them!

  18. I love the blue!

  19. Oh Miss Conduct is beautiful! I will definitely be grabbing that one when I find it. And thank you for the DS Extravagance comparison. Now I don't have to feel bad about having both.

  20. The red appeals to me the most - maybe I am ready for Xmas?

  21. Are the glitters part of the flash glam fx collection? Love.your swatches!!! :)

  22. This entire collection should be arriving on my doorstep tomorrow!! Soo excited for Miss Conduct!

  23. These are really gorgeous, but Miss Conduct sticks out to me the most! It's really stunning and probably the only one I would pick up out of these three.

  24. O.O Holiday already?!?? Though I must admit...I am loving these pretties! I am weak for sparkles! :D Miss Conduct kinda reminds me of Ulta Material Girl. I don't own Extravagance but I do have Material Girl...possible dupes?

Devil May Care and Angel Eyes are definite must haves for me! The shade photo of Angel Eyes made my heart skip a beat! <3 I also might get Halo but I need to check out a swatch. Gold polishes are either awesome or awful on me, lol.

  25. How's the removal for Miss Conduct? :o

  26. Just like a shimmer polish, not bad at all!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yeah, I didn't want it to be all gritty like glitter removal. Thanks! :)
