Saturday Spam: Butter London

Hi guys, happy weekend! Today I have a lil bit of Butter London spam for ya! I was going to post Essie spam today but then I found out Nordstroms is having a pretty great sale on Butter London though tomorrow so I thought I'd post this instead (info about the sale is at the very bottom of the post!)

To see swatches & review of each shade click the read more button below

Snog is a pink toned red creme. I have the lippy in this color also, I'm kind of surprised by how much I love the color of both the polish and the lippy since I'm not normally a red kind of gal with my nails or my lips. The formula was really wonderful, in fact it was almost a 1 coater for me! I ended up using 2 coats for the photos below!

Teddy Girl is a light white toned pale pink creme. This is not typically something I would love but it's a great palette cleanser, it kind of reminds me of a bridal kind of color. Not that I would wear baby pink nail polish when I get married but I imagine some of my friends would love this color for the occasion. The formula was surprisingly nice, I was expecting it to be awful since it's so light and so white based. It was a little bit streaky but nothing a thick 2nd coat of polish couldn't fit. I used 2 coats of Teddy Girl for the photos below.

Yummy Mummy is a beige nude with a gorgeous silver shimmer. I'm not sure that this 100% works for my skin tone but I do like it...and it made me look tan which I am always a fan of haha. The formula was nice, a little on the thin side but it had good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Blagger is a bright and vibrant blue creme. oh mah god, everyone you need this. I am such a blue fangirl lately....I need all the vibrant blues like this in my life. How I have owned this for months and months and never worn is is seriously something I'm scratching my head about right now. It's a tiny bit similar to Nails Inc Baker Street but not as vibrant, also Baker Street has the tiniest touch of purple to it that this is also missing. The formula was great, I used 2 coats for the photos below!

Marrow is a rich dark purple with a very subtle silver shimmer. I love the base color of this but the shimmer leaves a little bit to be desired...I wish there was more of it! The formula was nice, a little on the thick side but easy to work with. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Tart With A Heart is a golden glitter in a clear base. This is another one that I am seriously kicking myself for not wearing sooner. I only bought it because it came in a duo with The Black Knight at Ulta. I ended up just stashing this in my Helmer and forgetting about it because it didn't look that fantastical in the bottle.

I decided to layer Tart over black for this post and omg...it's freaking amazing. Why didn't anyone tell me this was so awesome months ago?!? If you like glitter you need to get this and put it over black, your mind will be blown.  Pictures do not do this polish/combo any justice! I used 1 coat of Tart With A Heart over Nails Inc Black Taxi for the photos below.

Shade

Thames is a shimmer blue green. I do like the color of this but it's not one that I'm over here jumping up and down about like Tart With A Heart haha. I think I bought this hoping there would be a hidden duochrome in it but there isn't :( The formula was just okay, it was on the sheer side but it built up without any issues. I used 3 coats for the photos below.

Shade
Victoriana- is a dusty slate blue with a ton of silver shimmer. This reminds me of quite a few polishes we saw this Spring from OPI and Zoya but I'm pretty positive I've had this one longer than any of those (it's not a dupe to any of them either in case you're wondering). The formula is really nice on this one...I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Wallis is a golden olive green shimmer. Wowsa! I bought this about a year ago after KellieGonzo posted some seriously amazing photos of it on her blog. Then I brought it home and forgot about it haha...I do that a lot, it's kind of sad actually. This color makes the green lover inside of me so happy, it's perfect! The formula was okay, it was on the sheer side at first but I only ended up needed 2 coats to get it opaque. I tend to do thick coats so it might be a 3 coater depending on how you polish!

Butter London is available at a ton of places including ButterLondon.com, Ulta and Nordstroms. Right now (though Sunday) Nordstroms.com is having a Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale on Butter London and Deborah Lippmann if you use the code "BUYANDSAVE" :)

Snog, Teddy Girl & Yummy Mummy were sent to me for review, everything else was purchased by me.

I haven't gotten into the more expensive polishes yet. I want to buy a BUTTER London polish but can't decide which one. I've been thinking about Slapper but just can't decide!

  10. WOOOO! I just got a free DL and a free BL :) I normally go check Nordstrom's for any LE DL's so I was happy! Plus they had 2 of the new BL fall colors. SCORE! Your nails look lovely as always :) I just got a few of those colors (finally broke down and got Wallis the other day). Thank you so much for posting about this--you rock :) <3

  11. I got butter London's Tart With A Heart recently, their polish is a joy to apply and always looks beautiful. I did get my first Deborah Lippman polish at Nodstroms, thanks for the heads up about the sale. My credit card is not happy. LOL

  12. I love the baby pink polish. I love Go Go Pink by China Glaze, but it usually takes 4 coats. Teddy Girl is on my wishlist. I love it!

  13. Layer Tart with a Heart over a deep green (like Misa Toxic Seduction), it really brings out the green in the glitter and is a nice not so over-the-top Hoilday mani!

  17. I LOVE the finish on Teddy Girl! Normally I'm a very either/or kind of person- polish has to be matte or shiny, and anything in between looks dull. But I'm definitely making an exception in this case- the soft silky finish of TG is perfect for that color. And I'm not even into light pinks. Or pinks at all, very much. I would totally wear that!
I love Thames too, but I'm predictable that way- I own so many turquoise/aqua family polishes that it's getting a bit silly.

  18. Wow! So many pretties! I feel ashamed that I only own one BL polish (Victoriana) in all of my massive stash. *hangs head in shame* I really love Victoriana though; such a beautiful color and finish. <3 My top BL lemmings are definitely The Black Knight and Tart with a Heart. Your pic of TwaH has reinvigorated my lemming though! *so swoon worthy!* :D Maybe I will try to pick it up sooner than later (along with The Black Knight). :D Lots of love for your wonderful Saturday Spam! It's always a treat! :D

  19. I don't know if you already know this, but Tart With A Heart over The Black Knight is...I can't explain it. JUST DO IT.

  20. Wallis is like my favorite color ever. When I was younger I always wanted a pair of leather pants in that color. AH! <3

  21. I love the Butter London colours and names, but stopped using it altogether because it always started chipping the next day (at the latest!). Anyone else have this problem? It did not seem to matter which base and top coats I used. It would just start chipping!
