Saturday Spam: OPI (Part 1)

Happy Weekend! Anyone have big plans for this weekend? I plan on staying inside in the AC because it's apparently going to be like 100 degrees here, gotta love So Cal and our endless summer. I was actually thinking about going to LA this weekend but I don't want to deal with Carmageddon so I'm staying away. Don't you love when the news gives the dumbest names ever to stupid crap like a freeway being closed for the weekend, I love you're so ridiculous and amazing, please never change.

Anyway, today I have a massive spam like whoa for you guys. OPI is probably brand I own the most of and also the brand that I have the most un posted polishes from. Today I have 24 polishes to spam you with, I'm sure I still have twice this many to swatch for future spam fingers cry thinking of this haha! I suggest grabbing a snack before clicking the read more button under the gigantor collage below.

P.S. the post behind the cut is VERY picture heavy, many apologies if it takes a billion years to load.

P.P.S. some of the polishes in this post are old and hard to find...some are even very hard to find. Some may cause you to pass out if you search them on ebay and see the price. I know there are folks out there on the internets that don't like seeing pretty things that they can't easily go find in store or online but the whole point of my Saturday Spam posts are for me to swatch my entire stash...hope you won't hate me too much :)

Butter London Queen Vic Lacquer & Lippy Swatches!

TGIF! Happy Friday guys, I am so ready for this feels like it's been a longer than normal work week and that's never fun! Today I have a couple Butter London goodies to show you guys! Butter London just recently released their Fall 2012 Lippy & Lacquer duos and I have 1 of them to share with you. The lacquer isn't a new shade but now it has a matching lip gloss!

Queen Vic is a dark wine/cranberry colored creme. This is one of those classic Fall shades, it's the kind of shade that flatters a lot of skin tones! The formula was great, it flowed nicely and was easy to apply! I used 2 coats for the photos below!

Alright, now be gentle guys....below is my first ever lip swatch. This will probably not be something seen around these parts very much. I'm a big lip gloss loving lady but make up swatches scare me, I was kind of amazed how hard it was to take a picture of my lips haha!

The Queen Vic Lippy isn't not an exact match to the lacquer, it's lighter and more pink, but it's definitely in that same kind of cranberry family. On me, this is a flattering color, it gives a nice flush of color without being too over the top. I feel like I can wear this on it's own during the day and also transition it into night easily by building the opacity up a bit more. The lippy was on the sticky side, I know some people don't like that but it doesn't really bother me. Because of the sticky-ness the wear time is really great, I don't find that I need to constantly re-apply it. These glosses are scented, the scent reminds me of cake...aka it smells delicious!

Butter London's Fall 2012 Lippy and Lacquer duos are available now, you can find them over at The Lippy's retail for $17 and the Lacquer's retail for $14. You can also find them in store at places like Ulta and Nordstrom!

Pomegranate Nail Lacquer Curator & Improv Show Swatches!

Hi guys! Today I have 2 of the new Fall 2012 polishes from Pomegranate Nail Lacquer to share with you guys! Pomegranate just recently released 7 gorgeous new shades for Fall, they all look really nice if you want to give them a little looksie over on their website here!

First up is Curator which is a black jelly base absolutely packed with silver and gold glitter. This polish is a total win. The formula was very smooth, my bottle wasn't thick at all. Application was easy and the glitter payoff was pretty incredible. I used 2 coats for the photos below. I love that the black jelly base is opaque enough to not need a lot of coats but not so opaque that it eats all the pretty glitter. I found that Curator dries really fast but a little dull prior to top coat. Surprisingly there was not a ton of texture on this once it was dry!

Improv Show is a dark red toned purple with pink/purple/blue shimmer. The shimmer in this was noticeable in all kind of light. I always reach for rich dark shades like this in the fall and this is pretty perfect for that! The formula was again really nice, I had no application issues! I used 2 coats for the photos below.

apologies for the fingerprint-y bottle in the photos below :(

Pomegranate Nail Lacquer is available at for $9 a piece, they also have several shades on sale for half off right now...check it out! For my international ladies it looks like Star Trinkets is going to be carrying the brand also!

Sally Hansen Lustre Shine Lava +a comparison!

Hi guys! Happy Hump Day...we're half done with the work week, yay! Before I get into the polish today I wanted to let you guys know about a little interview I did with a website called Inspirationail a little while back! The interview went live on their site yesterday, I'm pretty excited about it! The interview was so fun to do, you can check it out over on Inspirationail's site here if you'd like to!

Today I have one of the new Sally Hansen Lustre Shine polishes to share with you guys! At first I wrote this collection off, I love duochromes and multichomes and I love that they are all of a sudden the it thing for polish companies to put out, but I feel like they all keep putting out the same colors and it's getting boring. Like seriously, if I see another Peridot dupe my head might explode. I ended up picking up Lava because everyone was saying it was a dupe to one of my all time favorite polishes, Bad Fairy from Mac. Of course, I had to see for myself so I went on the hunt for it. More on if it's a Bad Fairy dupe below!

Lava on it's own is really gorgeous, the color shifts from pink to orange to gold. The shift was strong indoors, outside in direct sunlight and in the shade, gotta love that!  The formula was a little sheer, but that's par for the course with polishes like this so it was expected. I used 3 coats of Lava on it's own for full opacity. You could definitely layer this if you wanted to, it would look amazing over black!

Below is Lava vs. Mac Bad Fairy. I feel like everyone was yelling THESE ARE DUPES from the rooftops. Sorry guys, hate to be the bearer of bad news...they aren't :( They are actually more different than I though they would be. The base color of Lava is much more orangey, the shimmer is also much finer in Lava. The biggest difference is the color shift, I love Bad Fairy but the shift in Lava is about a thousand times better. While these aren't dupes they are definitely like step sisters, if you missed out on Bad Fairy it's a great (maybe even better!) alternative for it!

I used 3 coats of Lava and 3 coats of Bad Fairy for the photos below.

Sally Hansen Lustre Shine polishes are available at drugstores now, I found mine at Rite Aid but I've also seen them at Walgreens locally! Mac Bad Fairy is unfortunately long gone and hard to find unless you want to spend a small fortune for it on ebay.

Enchanted Polish Hot Chocolate

Morning!  Today I have a gorgeous holo from Enchanted Polish to share with you guys called Hot Chocolate! It's an awesome brown with a great linear holo! I wore this for a few days last week and got a ton of compliments on it! It's always funny when you go outside and people see your nails when you wear a holo, I think it seriously blows their mind a little when they see all the rainbow goodness happening haha! The formula of Hot Chocolate was really nice, application was smooth and easy! I used 2 coats for full opacity, this was SO much more holo in real life! Why is it always so hard to capture the beautiful polishes like this :(

Enchanted Polish Hot Chocolate is available at Harlow & Co and Mei Mei Signatures!

Seche Nail Lacquer Swatches & Review

Hi guys! Hope you all had a great weekend! Did anyone watch the Emmy's last night? I didn't but I did watch the pre-show on E! How awesome was the mani-cam? I was dying, what a great idea! Today I have 6 polishes from Seche to share with you guys. Seche (as in Seche Vite!) is launching their nail lacquer collection coming up in October at Ulta, their lacquers are meant to be fast drying one coat polishes! These are Big 3 Free, a few people asked about that when I posted a photo of these on my instagram!

The core range for Seche will consist of 33 colors, you can see bottle/display photos of more of the colors over on Polarbelle from Cosmoprof North America. To see swatches of the 6 I have click the read more button below!

Enchanted Polish Magical Mystery Tour

TGIF! Anyone have fun plans for this weekend? I'm not sure what trouble I'll get into, but it will probably happen somewhere with air conditioning....the AC at home broke and it's awful :(

Today I have an awesome multichrome holo from Enchanted Polish to share called Magical Mystery Tour. This is pretty much like the Ozotic multichromes on speed. Polishes like these are my favorites from Enchanted Polish, besides this one Chelsea makes a whole collection of them (the Beatles Collection) and they are all seriously amazing! Magical Mystery Tour shifts from purple to pink to teal to a bit of a green teal. It reminds me a lot of Ozotic 505! In addition to that awesome multichrome it's got a linear holo going on too. The holo in this particular shade wasn't as bold and in your face as some of the others from the Beatles Collection but it's definitely visible in direct sunlight.

Formula wise Magical Mystery Tour is a bit on the sheer side, it does build up to full opacity in 3 coats so you can wear it on its own or layered over something else. I'm pretty sure this would look all kinds of amazing over a dark purple or a black! The shift in color was visible in bright and in low light. I'm scared to wear this when I'm driving because the color shift is so strong I'm afraid I'd crash while admiring my nails haha! I used 3 coats of Magical Mystery Tour for the photos below, I tried to get this in a few different kinds of light for you! The first photo is in my "light box" (by light box I mean a chopped up cardboard box with a lamp sitting next to it...the epitome of a McGyvered lightbox). The second photo is out in direct sunlight and the third is in the shade!

Degen's September 2012 Barkbox

Happy almost Friday! Last night I hit up the food trucks, it was so yummy!  There were so many awesome trucks there last night, 5 of my favorites...that almost never happens! I ended up getting a super healthy s'mores waffle from Waffle-icious. I put a picture of it on Instagram so if you follow me over there you might have seen that deliciousness! I considered it my belated horrible for you birthday treat since I was so sick last week on my actual birthday!

Today I have a non-polish post for's Degen's BarkBox for September! It arrived yesterday afternoon and Degen could smell all the yummies inside so he was trying to rip the box open before I could even get it to take photos! If you've never seen one of my BarkBox posts before and are wondering what it is please check out this post where I go more into detail about it!

piCture pOlish White Wedding

Hi guys! Today I have White Wedding from piCture pOlish to share with you! This polish is part of the Collaboration Collection piCture pOlish just recently released. The Collaboration Collection consists of a bunch of polishes all named and created by different etailers and bloggers that piCture pOlish works with. White Wedding was created by Leah Ann over at Llarowe! As soon as I saw a swatch of this I knew I needed it, I like shades like this that are subtle but with a nice twist.

White Wedding is a milky white base packed with rainbow shimmer. In most light the shimmer doesn't really look rainbow, unfortunately, but it's still great! I love that the shimmer isn't in your face but it's gives a really nice depth to the polish. It's one of those shades that would be good for the office but there is still something special so it's not boring. The formula wasn't my favorite, I found it to be on the thick and sheer side. It wasn't particularly hard to work with but I did need to wait a few minutes between coats. I used 4 coats of White Wedding for the photos below, if you don't have free edge (or don't care about visible nail line) 3 coats would work for you!

White Wedding is available at and!

China Glaze United In Purpose Collection- My Picks!

Hi guys! Today I have 3 polishes from the China Glaze Breast Cancer Awareness Collection for 2012 called the United In Purpose Collection to share with you! This year China Glaze is putting out a rather large BCA Collection of 12 polishes. The majority of the polishes were pink cremes that didn't call to me very much so they stayed at the store. These 3 definitely caught my eye though, I hope you guys like them also!

Butter London Two Fingered Salute

Hi guys, happy Monday! I'm really not excited for today, it's my first day back to work after my fun week of being horribly sick. I always hate going back after being gone for a few days, my desk looks like a disaster zone :(

Today I have a Butter London polish called Two Fingered Salute to share with you guys. I bought this at Nordstroms a couple weeks ago while I was trying to kill time waiting for an appointment at the Apple store. As far as I know this is exclusive to Nordstroms, I don't see it on the Butter London website. Not sure if or when that will change, if you don't have a Nordstrom store near you it is available online here.

Two Fingered Salute is a muted light green packed with coppery pink/orange microglitter. This color is so much better than it photographs, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it! In person the glitter looks much more shimmer like with the way it gives the polish a nice sheen, in photos it definitely appears more glitter like...hopefully that makes sense. The glitter isn't in your face in the shade and indoors but you can see it! The formula was really nice, I used 2 coats for the photos below. For those wondering removal was a breeze!

Butter London sells for $14 per bottle, as far as I know this polish is only available at Nordstroms stores and Nordstroms online for right now.

Lex Cosmetics Arcoiris

Hi guys! Hope you're all having a good weekend! Today I have the newest Lex Cosmetics polish to share with you, it's called Arcoiris. If you've never heard of Lex Cosmetics it's a pretty neat company, all of their polishes are made from our ideas. You can go on their website ( and submit a color story, then eventually everyone gets to vote on the entries and whichever gets the most votes gets made. Arcoiris is actually one that I voted for a while back, I was so excited that it won!

Arcoiris is a multicolored glitter in a clear base. The most dominant glitter colors are green, pink, silver, gold and orange. I think there might be some other colors in the mix but they don't stand out as much. I do like the polish but it's not really what I was expecting this one to look like. I'm not exactly sure what I envisioned, I think my mind was going more towards something holographic. You say rainbows and that's where my polish dreams take me I guess haha! The formula was really nice, it wasn't thick! The glitter payoff was great in one coat and there were no application issues. For the photos below I used 1 coat of Arcoiris over each polish, the first photo is over Essence Grey-t To Be Here and the second is over Zoya Jo. Both photos below are shown with top coat and in the shade.

Arcoiris is available for $10 at

Enchanted Polish Enchanted Falloween Collection Swatches

Hi guys! Sorry for my absence over the last few days, to paraphrase my week I had 3 root canals and was on antibiotics that did not agree with me. It's been pretty awful over here since Sunday, I haven't even been able to look at my computer because the screen was so bright it was making me sick. no bueno. I still feel like crap but I wanted to show you this collection before it launches so I dragged myself out of my sick den to write this up lol! Hopefully I'll be back to 100% soon, nurse Degen has been taking great care of me. By taking care of me I mean he is sleeping next to me and occasionally demanding a butt scratch as payment.

Anyway, on to nail polish today I have the Enchanted Falloween Collection from Enchanted Polish to share with you guys. This collection is 7 awesome glitter bombs just in time for Halloween! Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Saturday Spam: BB Couture

Happy Weekend! Today I have a bit of BB Couture spam for you! I really love this brand but I don't actually own a whole heck of a lot of it, what I do own is mostly green. They make some amazing green polishes, if you love green like I do you need to check out BB Couture! I think what I love most are their glitters. BB Couture sticks out in my mind for the tiny microglitter that is in a lot of their polishes, the way it sparkles is something unique to their polishes!

Zoya Spam!

Happy Friday! Did anyone watch the VMA's last night? I mostly fast forwarded through it but I seriously think I will have nightmares featuring those giant dancing lips from Pink's performance haha! Today I have the majority of the polishes I bought in the last promo Zoya did. I got 8 polishes in total, the 2 I'm not showing are Purity and Raven. I'll have swatches of those up eventually I just haven't had a chance to try them out yet! I'd love to hear what you guys got in the Zoya promo in the comments if you were able to take advantage of it!

Essie Fall 2012 Stylenomics Collection Swatches

Hi guys! Today I have Essie's Fall 2012 Stylenomics Collection to share with you! I saw this a couple weeks ago at Target and completely passed on it but then I saw it again at my local supply store and decided to pick it up...self control be dammed! The Stylenomics Collection is 6 creme polishes, I love basic cremes so I think that's why I ended up getting suckered into buying these haha! To see swatches of each shade click the read more button below!

Essence Grey-t To Be Here

Hi guys! Today I have Essence Grey-t To Be Here to share with you guys! My local Ulta finally got the new Essence Colour & Go display up, it was pretty empty when I got to it so I'm not sure if they were just stocking it or what. Anyway, this polish caught my eye.

Grey-T To Be Here is a light grey with a pink/orange hidden shimmer. I kind of love polishes like this, they are work appropriate but when the light hits your nails right it's all magical haha! The shimmer is pretty hidden so if you don't like that I'd probably stay away from this polish. The formula was okay, a little patchy and sheer, I used 3 coats for full opacity.

Essence Colour & Go is available in the US at Ulta, Fred Meyer & HEB for about $2!

Maybelline Downtown Brown

Hi guys! Hope you all had a great weekend! I had a nice relaxing 3 day weekend, I wish every weekend was a 3 day weekend! I finally started watching Pretty Little Liars, I know I like 2 years late on this bandwagon haha!

Today I have a new Maybelline polish to show you guys called Downtown Brown. This is part of their Fall 2012 Limited Edition Collection that just recently started showing up around here. There were a few other polishes that were nice in the display but this was the only one unique to my stash so it's the only one I bought. Downtown Brown is a medium brown with a gorgeous green shimmer. I like this more in the bottle than on the nail but it's beautiful and definitely not like anything I already have! The formula was nice, not too thick or too thin and it ended up being more opaque than I expected. I used 2 coats for full opacity! Both photos below are in direct sunlight, the shimmer isn't in your face in low lighting but it I could still see it! This is much better in real life but not as amazing as I thought it was going to be based off of how it was in the bottle.

Maybelline is available at most drugstores, Target & Walmart etc... I've only seen this particular display in my area at Rite Aid so I'm not sure if it's out at other stores yet or if it will be!
